Very dissappointed with this one. Bad graphics in some locations, horrible cutscenes and a typical storyline.
I will give this game a 3.5 stars rating.
Here's why:
Cons:
- Although the premise of an oriental setting always has me excited since the asian culture always intrigued me, this game didn't represented it in a convicing way, in my opinion.
- The whole game didn't felt natural. The sights, the characters and the decorations were only there to fill the landscape.
- The storyline was your typical "save-the-world-or-die-tryin'" premise. Been there done that. I became so tired and so detached from the story that I didn't even played the bonus chapter.
- The artwork in some locations was breathtaking, but in others it wasn't, it almost looked like 3D graphics, which I'm not very fond of.
- The cutscenes were one of the worst things about "Chinese Healer". They were choppy, blurry and, overall, very bad looking. This could haven't been such a problem if there weren't so many of them.
Pros:
- The healer's kit, some locations artwork and the music were probably the only redeeming qualities this game had for me.
Overall, I'm sorry to say that I didn't particulary liked this game, and it's a shame since I had very high hopes for it and a lot of people seemed to have loved it. I didn't though, but you probably will, who knows.
Try before you buy!
I recommend this game!

This second installment in the "Stray Souls" series was a great one, just as the first, but, unfortunately, the main game was quite short. The ending cutscene with the battle between your dollie and the clown almost made me cry... This developer always creates characters that you can connect with and it works beautifully. One of the best things were the puzzles. They were highly entertaining and very original. A joy to play, really.
Pros:
- Beautiful graphics, animations, mechanics and presentation. Such a joy to watch, especially the sky. Mesmerizing pieces of art;
- The character artwork is unbeliavable. So amazing;
- Lovely characters, which you empathize with. I just love the rag doll!
- Haunting music, so, so beautiful!;
- The sound effects, especially of the environment are great and they wrap you in a cloud of mystery;
- Amazing voice-overs, especially the main character's;
- Wonderful puzzles! Original and fun. My favorite was the one were you had to wake up the gnome!;
- Interesting storyline that ties in perfectly with the first game;
- The bonus chapter was nice, actually and had the perfect length;
- The concept arts were really beautiful!;
Cons:
- The main game was short, when compared to the first one and so, it still left a lot to be desired and expected...
Overall, "Stray Souls: Stolen Memories" was a game I really liked, but I was expecting to have liked it more and so I'll probably give it a 4.5 stars rating. The main game being short left me disappointed and I can only hope that the developers will do a better job if another "Stray Souls" comes along and I sure hope it does, because it really is a beautiful and very enthralling game.
Keep up the amazing work, devs!
I recommend this game!

I wasn't expecting much from this "Haunted Legends" sequel, and I was right. "Queen of Spades" was much better not only in storyline but in overall entertainment.
"The Bronze Horseman" lacks individuality and looks and feels like all the other ERS games I've ever played.
Pros:
- The artwork, as always, is very beautiful, but unfortunately, is very blurry, thus making it less appealing;
- Overall, this is a nice game for you to spend some hours, both the main game and the bonus game. It entertains, nevertheless, and the hidden object scenes too;
Cons:
- Blurry artwork. It takes the enchantment of the locations away and makes the hidden objects scenes a "pain in the eyes", literally, because some objects can be hard to spot;
- The music is terrible, I must say. It sounds like all the other tracks that played in previous ERS games and it's always the same one playing over and over and over again. There's a line, you know...;
- Severe lack of originality and individuality. You play an ERS studio game and deep down inside you know you're playing the same game over again. The only different thing is the story, the characters and the locations.
- The worst villain ever. Wait, can SG even be considered a villain? Anyways, he's only there to compromise your job of completing the game. That's just it. You're about to catch him, right? Maybe not, since he always closes the doors behind him. That little monster! So, you gotta open that door and you do. Oh, there he is again! Gotcha? Maybe not. Because now he closed that OTHER door. This is it. It goes on like this until you manage to catch him in the end. Except you don't. It's going on like this for 4 games already...;
If you want to spend some leisure time trying to catch a imp that can't be caught and doing a lot of hidden objects scenes in-between, this is the game for you.
Entertaining, but that's just it. I will not play it again.
Hey, I'm all for reciclying, ERS, but it just doesn't work very well with games.
I recommend this game!

"Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake" was definitely a great game and a nice improvement over "Message in a Haunted Mansion"!
Now you can move from one place to another much more easily since there are arrow cursors pointing in the directions you can go. Yay!
The storyline was amazing and very interesting.
So far, this was the easiest Nancy Drew adventure game I have played, but it still provides lots of challenges, and some of them can still "bug" you... A very memorable game, no doubt about it.
Nancy stays the night at a creepy, small, old house in Moon Lake, but she is disturbed by a spooky apparition of dogs roaming the woods and trying to enter in the house.
Could these be really the previous owner's dead dogs? Or someone in the small laketown is hiding something?
Pros:
- The gameplay is very intuitive and the actions you are supposed to do are always very obvious and that's a great feat. I always knew what to do next!;
- The graphics are great! The rundown look adds atmosphere to the game and it works beautifully;
- Great storyline. I loved reading every bit concerning it. Malone's story is very mysterious and very well told. I loved visiting the speakeasy!;
- Great and interesting characters. You actually feel that each has a mind of their own. That is only possible due to the great voice-overs and the script;
- As I mentioned before, the arrow cursor addition is very, very helpful and a must. It made my gaming experience much better and way more pleasant;
- Nice puzzles, totally solvable. Malone's dogs surely will take a lot of your time and atention!;
- This game has a vibrating atmosphere. The sound effects and the beautiful music all add up to it. I really immersed myself in the amazing environment that the developers created. Pure magic;
No cons at all!
This was an amazing gaming experience and adventure. Very complete, nothing was missing!
This time in Moon Lake was definitely an unforgettable one for me.
I sincerely hope you'll love and appreciate the game as much as I did! Dive in this mystery concerning the Prohibition era and ties that remain even when all is said and done and I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
I recommend this game!

First off, this was not the first Nancy Drew adventure game I've played, but it was the first of the classic ones.
This time, Nancy is invited to a mansion in San Francisco to "help" out with renovations, but something shady is going on at the mansion, not only with the people that are there, but something else is also wandering in the hallways... In the center of all this is a very mysterious poem: "Listen, my child, to this story of dreams..."
"Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion", was a very enthralling and interesting game to play. The environment wasn't great nor was it bad, but then again, to explore, you only have a few rooms in the mansion. The puzzles weren't "unsolvable" so, in an adventure game and in a Nancy Drew game that is de-fi-ni-te-ly a giant plus!
Pros:
- The graphics are great, really! The décor of the house is amazing too, with a lot of things to look at;
- The characters artwork is good, too;
- The voice-overs, overall, are not the best, but are still pretty good, especially Abby's;
- Uncovering the mystery of the mansion was what I loved most about this game, definitely. Finding out, from bits of paper here and there, the background of the building was amazing and the story is very well thought off. Not many questions are left unanswered;
- Nice puzzles. Not many, since most of them appear by the end of the game, but nice nonetheless. Not too hard or too easy;
- The music was fantastic! It's a shame that, since you end up finding out that everything it's not quite what it seems, the mysterious music doesn't fit the bill anymore and seems out of place. But it is really great, one way or the other;
- The "second chance" option is definitely very useful and a "Nancy lifesaver" when you screwed up and didn't saved. That chandelier...
Cons:
- To check out on your journal (that is how I would now if the story was progressing), I had to always come back to Nancy's room. Although you don't have that many places to visit in the mansion, it was always tiring to keep going back for it;
- One thing that makes the gameplay confusing and a bit frustrating is that the cursor is always the same for everything. And although when it came to pick up objects or to zoom it didn't bother me, when you could move to another place it did. Thus, I wouldn't know if a certain place was to be zoomed in or if it was to move forward, backwards and so on... In the hallways I would always go around in circles since I would click and I didn't know if I was going left or right or whatever. Quite frustrating, really;
- The game is quite short. I played it through in one night and I usually take a lot of time to finish these games;
Overall, "Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion" seemed like a promising game by its title, but it turns out that the mansion is not so haunted after all and you find that out pretty soon. I think that ruined the "mystery" way too soon. The story is completely different from what I was expecting but I still did like it since it's very well constructed and unfolded as you progress throughout the game.
A great story, a great setting, a very interesting and enthralling game. A great adventure, no doubt. Shame about the lenght, though.
I recommend this game!

This is the first Nancy Drew game I have ever played, and, although it's very different from the most famous, I just loved it!
It is incredibly fun, entertaining, has a great story and very funny characters, not to mention the beautiful artwork!
Pros:
- Really beautiful artwork, with great colouring. The décor of the Redondo is beautiful, too;
- Beautiful and soothing soundtrack;
- Funny and memorable characters! My favorites were probably Cassidy and Helfdan;
- The voice-overs and the script are just great! Better than most movies out there nowadays, no doubt about it;
- Fun and very original gameplay. You still had to look for objects, but you had to find its match. It doesn't sound too great, I know, since that's what the gameplay mainly consists of, but play it and you'll see;
- Great puzzles! My favorite was the one in the garden, where you had to put the right objects in various statues of Greek gods and goddesses;
No cons, whatsoever. However, I think the game could have been a little longer. Sure, there were a lot of chapters, but some of them were really short.
Overall, this was an amazing and different experience and I really became engaged in the story. I will definitely play it again someday!
If you're looking for something different in a casual game (which is rare), try this one and I sincerely hope you'll like it as much as I loved it!
I recommend this game!

"Rite of Passage: Child of the Forest" was a very fun and delightful game to play. Practically everything about it was good!
Pros:
Great graphics/artwork. Crisp, detailed and clear.
The hidden objects scenes were a pleasure to play. They were varied and fun.
Great replayability. Lots of achievements, lots of collectibles, posters to assemble and, of course, the bonus chapter.
The bonus chapter was quite short, but I really liked it because you get to help Ethan with his rite.
Great music. My favorite track, Ethan's song, unfortunately, wasn't in the soundtrack... :(
I love assembling objects, and there was a lot of that, so I loved it too.
Very entertaining game, overall. It's a pleasure and also very relaxing to play, and there's lots of stuff for you to do. It also helps, of course, to be really good looking!
However, I won't give it a 5 stars rating because the setting (forests and whatnot) and the storyline (rituals and children in peril) aren't exactly my cup of tea.
I'm sure most people will love it, though!
I recommend this game!

So, so sad. I really wanted to like this game. It looked really beautiful, eerie and had great reviews, but, unfortunately, I didn't enjoy it. Although the presentation is quite beautiful, the game wasn't fun for me to play. And when that happens, the game becomes irritating to play, just like "Mystery Legends: Phantom of the Opera"".
The hidden objects scenes were very hard to finish since I couldn't discern anything in all that junk. It was so, so infuriating...
Then the random clicking penalty. Since I couldn't find the objects I was looking for, I had to click in everything, but the screen was always freezing with the penalty! Rrrrr... I could not spot the objects (since it was pratically impossible) and I could only random click (oops, couldn't, again) or use hints.
I like to take it easy and relax with these games, but that was impossible to achieve with this one.
This completely destroyed the game for me.
The main character remarks were so, so annoying... I wish she would just shut it. Not pleasant at all.
The reedemable qualities it had was the artwork and the ambient. Very luxurious and breathtaking, really.
Overall, I didn't finished the game. Not being able to find the objects; the click penalty and the main character remarks really pushed me off. This game was very irritating for me to play. A pain in the head.
I should have expected this. The sequel to this series, "Mystery Legends: "Beauty and the Beast" had the exact same problems and I also hated it.
But I will recommend it because most people will like, if not, love it. I'm sure of it.
I didn't though.
I recommend this game!

This game was really beautiful to look at, and the hidden objects scenes were mildly entertaining, but it doesn't draw you in.
Pros:
- Really beautiful graphics and artwork, a pleasure to look at.
- Equally beautiful character artwork;
- Nice music. The one that played whenever a ghost showed up was really eerie;
- The hidden objects artwork was beautiful and crisp, so I enjoyed playing them;
- Curwen's voice-over was nice;
- The development video in the extras was nice and really interesting to see;
- Fun puzzles as well as nice gameplay;
Cons:
- Uninteresting storyline. The story, although the main focus of the game, feels very thin. I never cared about what was going on. The characters didn't help, too. I never cared about them, either. Not even the ghosts...;
- All the characters' voice-overs (except for the revenant's) were awful to listen to, especially Ward's;
- The bonus chapter was just like the main game. The only good thing was the artwork;
This is a game I probably won't play again. It had high-production, no doubt about it. I feel bad for the developers who clearly loved what they were doing, but I couldn't appreciate this game. Uninteresting game, overall. Except for the artwork, that is. However, it still can provide you with some fun since the puzzles, as well as the HO are fun to play.
I recommend this game!

I so wanted to like this game... But after all I didn't even finished it...
In some points it's a innovative game (the PCI kit and its mini-games), but that doesn't help when you are faced with the very vapid artwork and with the sluggish pace of the storyline.
Pros:
- I have to say that in the streets of New Orleans the artwork was kind of okay, actually. And not to forget that the Fireflies Lake was pretty, too;
- Madame Oracleaux's (I hope I got that right...) character artwork was beautiful! And her little shop was, too;
- Nice PCI kit mini-games, I really loved those!
Cons:
- Very, very, vapid artwork. Especially in the Cathedral. I was definitely expecting better...;
- Almost nonexistent sound effects and/or music. What's up with that? It ruins the mystery completely.;
- By the time I finally entered the Cathedral, the storyline was becoming less and less interesting, and that's because nothing ever happened again regarding the story itself. All I was doing was playing hidden objects games in a pratically mute and very boring game;
What's more to say? Can't even refer to the bonus content because I did not played the game until the end and so I have no ideia what the extras looked like.
Not a great game here, definitely. Nice premise, but the storyline, after the introduction, pratically disappears. Not to mention that you can't become enthralled in a game that has no music or sound effects whatsoever! Only when the bad guys show up? Come on!
I won't recommend it because I think you will also have a hard time getting interested in the game while playing it, and that would make "Paranormal Crime Investigations" almost seem like a chore you have to finish.
And it just shouldn't be that way since it's supposed to be a game, right?
I don't recommend this game.
