This game was very calm overall and had beautiful graphics and presentation, just like all the other "Blue Tea Games" so far.
The things I liked the most were: The graphics, beautifully drawn and completely flawless; The story was different and really well told, almost like watching a movie; The characters were well explored and very interesting; The music wasn't intrusive but I thought it wasn't half as good as the music from "Dark Parables"; The overall setting and ambiance was extremely well achieved;
The worst things for me were: I thought that there were too many hidden objects scenes and I always get really frustrated when that happens, because it makes my gaming experience something completely annoying; I think the game is not worth the extra CE price not only because the bonus chapter was short, but because you spend practically 90% of its time in HO's scenes and also because by the end of it, you end up not actually discovering what was Darcy all about; Here comes the HO's again: At the climax of the game, in order to get everything over with, you had to spend your time in hidden objects scenes. Again.
Overall, "Curse of the Nightingale" was a different experience, but for me it ended up being an annoying one because there were tons of hidden objects. For the HO's game lover, it's probably a perfect game, but for someone who gets easily bored with them, it isn't.
A new breed of virus has spread throughout the City of Oxford. You must search the city for a missing girl who holds the key to stopping the global epidemic!
I've been looking forward to playing this game for quite some time but now that I've played I couldn't possibly be more disappointed.
I don't know why, but I hate live-action in these types of games, so that's a minus for this one. I thought the graphics were lifeless, even for an abandoned town like Oxford City. The overall presentation of the game didn't compel me to play it, that's for sure. The music was so-so, nothing special, and for the most part I didn't even noticed it. The HOG'S mechanics were different and could have been more fun if they had been inserted in a game with more captiving and polished graphics. The bonus chapter was extremely short and uninteresting.
The sad thing is that, with this storyline, this could have been an unique game, but the way it was told, it felt insipid. It failed in the graphics, the presentation, the length and the live-action. For me, at least, it did.
Sincerely, I can't think of anything else to add about "Infected". It was completely forgettable in my honest opinion. I was very unsatisfied with this game. It could have been something different, but it failed.
This game was simply amazing! I just loved to explore the abandoned town of Riverdale and I felt completely enthralled in the story.
This game has no bad or annoying things about it at all. The graphics were wonderful, the music was really soothing, the characters were interesting, I felt everything that the characters were supposed to fell for themselves. My favorite character was Tommy's manifestation to Henry. It was an amazing character and the voice work was impecable. By the end of the game, everytime I saw the mask, I was really creeped out and just wanted it destroyed once and for all. There weren't too many hidden objects scenes and the items were easy to spot. I loved the bonus chapter, I felt that it was a perfect epilogue for the story and the rain effects were supreme. Other thing that I really liked was the "Trivia" section, it was really interesting and fun to read those informations regarding "Children of Silence".
Overall, "The Lake House: Children of Silence" has not only a utterly touching and wonderfully told story (as well as a magnificent presentation), but it also has a great adventure to offer you and I think you will definitely remember this game for quite a long time.
First off I have to say that I didn't even finish the game, I played till 70% of it. I didn't knew that ERS ended up owning the rights to the "Phantasmat" series, but when I got to know it I was a bit reluctant to play its sequel and boy, was I right...
The game copies the entire formula and story development of the first "Phantasmat", just adding new characters and a new town. It looks completely like all the others ERS game, both visually and musically. Can't say nothing about the bonus chapter because I obviously didn't played it.
Here are the cons: - The characters are totally uninteresting and completely bland; - The story is an entirely rip-off of the first "Phantasmat", therefore lacking anything new; - The music sounds like all the other ERS Studios music, which are always annoying and repetitive to me; - The entire game bored me to death and during the time I was playing the game, I wasn't the least bit interested in it;
The pros: - The graphics were great, like they always are in all this developer's games; - There weren't too many hidden objects scenes in it, just the way I prefer it;
Overall, I've got nothing more to say, because I'm really disappointed... This game was bland, insipid, half-baked and it felt like it was rushed. I wish Codeminion kept developing "Phantasmat" but I guess that's not possible anymore. Don't get me wrong, though. There are plenty of ERS games that I like, but this was definitely not one of them.
This is definitely one of the best HOG's of all time, really. "Phantasmat" really had me "drowned" in its story since the very beginning, even though it starts with a rather overused formula.
Your car crashed in a ominous, rainy night in the woods, and since you had no way of getting back to wherever you were headed, you decide to venture further in the forest to look for help, ending up stranded in a hotel with very strange occupants and not even knowing the secrets they and their town hold.
Almost everything in "Phantasmat" was amazing to me, but here is what I liked the most: - The voice acting is without a doubt the best in all the HOG's I've ever, ever played; - The whole environment of the game really adds up to the story and to its characters; the mood, the ambient sounds (can't say much about the music because I pratically didn't hear it) and the art; - Can't say much about the story, because it is really well achieved and developed, I felt like I was watching a movie, and a really good one; - The characters are terrific, and I really felt compassionate for them, something that never happened in a hidden objects game before. (My favorite was the Hotel Owner!)
My only problems with the game were: - The hidden objects scenes; though they didn't bother me that much, it still did because I felt that there were too many of them; - The bonus chapter really disappointed me. I was expecting something greater, really. I was hoping that they would introduce some new character or making us discover new parts of the sunked city but it didn't. It was also extremely short in my opinion and it had nothing of "Epilogue" to it;
I recommend this game to everyone who enjoys a good game, but not to those who don't like to look for hidden objects much.
This game is definitely a keeper for ages to come and although it was quite dreary, I wouldn't mind visiting the "Drowned Dead Hotel" again.
When I started playing it, I couldn't possibly love it more, but after Chapter 4, I started to get bored.
This game really had great visuals, the town of Sleepy Hollow was really well made; the music just wasn't boring or annoying, it was really calm; the voice-overs were okay, but could have been better. The overall setting and environment were just really, really well done, in my opinion. The "Headless Horseman" story has been told many times before, but it hasn't lost its touch (at least in this version). The puzzles were entertaining but not hard at all, just the way I like it! The achievements and the trophies were a really nice addition and it was fun to choose the ones you wanted and buy them with the "horseshoes". The bonus chapter wasn't bad, it was okay, and it wasn't too short, like the usual.
My problems with this game were few, but here they are: The hidden object scenes: I didn't thought that there were too many of them, but some of the objects were really, really hard to find; The diary: I thought it was a bit confusing when it came to the diary because new entries were made, and I never knew when they did! I would check it every once in a while and sometimes it had 2 new entries (I'm referring to the investigation marker). It baffled me a little because they were important to the story. By the time I got to the forth chapter I started to get really bored and was wondering when would the game end... I usually hate short games, but sometimes a game can be a bit too long.
I really enjoyed Cursed Fates, but only until a certain point.
I recommend this game!

With all the 5 stars reviews I've read concerning this game, I thought I was in for a great ride, but when I finally got to play it I was seriously disappointed.
In my opinion, the best things about this game were the graphics of the locations (some, not all), the bonus chapter, which I completely loved more than the main game and the main story, and the concept arts (a pity that you can't save them...).
The cons were: the hidden objects scenes, I just thought that there were too many of them; the puzzles, which instead of making me want to solve them, just made me skip them, I thought they were uninteresting; the story, though a little different than that of most HOG's, didn't kept me interested (I was seriously longing for the game to end); the music wasn't annoying neither was it brilliant, made me a bit tired of hearing it after a while; the backtracking, rrrrrrr... just way too much of it, and you can't use the map to jump from one place to the other.
Overall, it was one of the most average games I've ever played. It wasn't bad, no. But it wasn't very good either.
