I love how each chapter has its challenges and you are taken to so many different places throughout the gameplay. I think you really good sense of our hero and the second installment of this game was my favorite out of the four. I just love thrillers in general and the supernatural twist was a nice treat since it wasn't so mystical that it would alienate people that are not interested in that genre. I had a great time with this game and enjoyed the replay years later!
I really enjoyed the different elements of this game. I thought that the story was so different and refreshing for the standard BFG fair of light-hearted fantasy. I didn't think anything was particularly challenging, but I liked how some of the HOGs were told interactively through storytelling and other cool methods. I wish there were more inventive games like this on BFG with the thriller vibe. The voice acting was also pretty good and I enjoyed the pacing.
I thought this game would have had a much better story line due to the fact that the graphics were so awesome. This was not the case sadly and the graphics was pretty much all the game had for it. I wish I would have purchased the standard edition, because the bonus game only rehashed games you had already played and the story line on the second part was weaker than the original story. The story line was so so and was a victim to lazy story telling to bring the game to an end.
I really enjoyed the story in this game. Usually I go for the horror games, but the visuals and the even the sound was awesome in this one. Definitely a breath of fresh air with the stagnant games that have been put out lately. I think the bond between a mother and daughter is put to the test as told through the game-play story-line. I liked the puzzles in the forest area next to the water way I felt that those were the most fun! I also enjoyed the comic access and the achievements that I could get even though I only purchased the SE.
I liked that the puzzles made sense, which is rare in these types of games. I liked the voice acting and the choices you got to make. I did use the hint button twice, which is something I rarely do and the puzzles were fresh and fun. It made me want to finish the game ASAP. I have never played the other ones in the series, but I think I might have to give them a try after playing this one. I think the level of challenge is great and I do not think this game deserves low ratings. The hidden object scenes were great I actually enjoyed looking for the items.
I did enjoy the game and I thought alot of that was due to the sound and artwork. I thought the start was promising. Especially with the mature audience warning from big fish ( I like horror games). But there is not to much darkness here and after the "prologue"piece you get to the task which are the boring part and brought the game down a star. I thought some of the plot was too obvious and they could have done better with the mystery of the villains. I thought the final "boss" was intriguing and a nice change of pace from everything else and it does leave me tempted to see what else this series has in store. I do say tempted and not obsessed with needing to know the ending. All in all I don't regret the purchase.
I played this game in one sitting and it was awesome the haunted hotel series has always been great and the new addition makes it much more engaging. My only complaints was that the fina chapter seemed rushed to draw a conclusion.
My main issue with this game is that the items used for puzzles didn't make sense a lot of the time. Any item that says "improvised" was not an item that logically goes where it should. I had to use the guide to help me with many of the item placements. The HOGs were not a major challenge and the collectibles and morphing objects were nice. The story was so so and didn't have the same scare factor that the other Maze games had in the past which was a bummer. It is better than many other big fish games, but not better than its predecessors.
I really enjoyed this game it is one of the better ones that I have played. I felt like it started out strong and finished okay. I definitely had started to lose interest around the end and I felt like the ending was a bit rushed and not challenging. I felt like the choices led to no where which is the real reason why I only gave it one star. I think 80% of the game is amazing and 20% was unimaginative.
A refreshing option that let me pick my poison (fear level)

I have to start off by saying I do enjoy the scary HO's the story lines are so much more interesting then the fairy kingdoms. That being said this is one of the few games that does scary right. The story line was awesome it was like a supernatural episode of law and order. The puzzles were engaging and not repetitive and the puzzles made sense!
