Currently, this came is about 4 years old, so it has that old-school HOPA style to it. It's cartoon animated, and you go back to the same HO scenes several times to find items.
I loved the story, and the cute doll helper. I actually got a little teary-eyed at the end. LOL
It's a short game, it took me 3 hours to complete the CE, and that includes the bonus chapter. Personally, I wouldn't bother with the CE. The bonus chapter is short and doesn't add much to the overall story.
I wouldn't recommend the CE. Save your money and go with the SE.

I am surprised by some of the negative reviews I've seen us this game. If you don't like puzzles, then this game isn't for you, because these imaginative puzzles are what makes these games great!
It is a Ravenhearst, which is famous for it's "Rube Goldberg" type puzzles, which are totally fabulous and very challenging.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game, but I did take 1 star off because the music score did not seem to match the mood of the game, which was a bit distracting.
I loved this game. The puzzles were challenging, and the map was useful. I always appreciate being able to set my own custom difficulty.
The music was creepy, as is required for a Ravenhearst game!
My favorite puzzles of all time are in the Ravenhearst games. At first it's a little overwhelming because nothing seems to go together. Then you pick away at it, and piece by piece it falls together and is very gratifying when you solve it!

It's hard to believe this game came out about 5 years ago. The art is gorgeous, the puzzles are challenging, and the storyline was fun. Try it, you'll like it!
This game was very long, and super challenging!! I really enjoyed having more of the classic "Ravenhearst" type puzzles, with a cool new in puzzle hint feature. That was very helpful.
Hi, I would have enjoyed this game much more if it were an actual HOPA, instead of a MOPA. Staring endlessly at a screen, waiting for an object to morph shape is not fun for me.
On the bright side, the graphics and music are top notch. The puzzles were quite challenging for me, and I must confess, I had to peek at the walkthrough a few times. *sheepish grin*
Warning - this game deals with some very tough issues, such as severe child abuse and mental illness. In some parts, this game is simply deranged. It will definitely set off emotional triggers, so please don't play if it's going to hurt you.
If it gets to be too much, you can turn down all of the sound and play your own music.
One final note: Once you set your difficulty at the beginning of the game, I could not find a way to reset it. Be warned. LOL

I loved this game. It was much different than other Mad Head games, with it's creepiness and "gotcha" moments. I jumped in my seat a few times. LOL Great game!
