*have to click Replay BEFORE you finish the particular level you're on
*CANNOT use the side cards UNLESS the upward card matches it -- meaning if you're 2 cards are 7 and a 10 and you want to use the 7 in order to remove board cards BUT your upward card on the board is a Queen -- you CANNOT use either of the side cards; your upward card MUST BE either an 8 or 6 to use the 7 card and a 9 or Jack to use the 10 card
*OFTEN you'll go through SEVERAL deck cards B4 getting a card that'll match a board card and MOST TIMES you'll end up with remaining board cards because the deck cards have already been gone through!!!
I LOVE the up/down versions of Solitaire but this game makes NO sense at all in your ability to use the "power-ups".
The game is nice but NOT FOR ME; it's based on the #of moves that you're LIMITED to make and I've NEVER been able to get halfway through a game accomplishing that feat.
I'm barely into this game and I've already had to do and re-do several levels and I left the game (with 10 minutes trial period remaining) STILL having to re-do a level.
I did nothing to set up an aquarium; I just played the Match3 portion of this game. One of the obstacles is oil seeping into tiles if you don't do your best to COMPLETELY eliminate them.
HOWEVER, there is a level (sorry didn't look to see which level BUT I've been playing this game straight for over 4 hours with at LEAST 30-45 minutes on this particular level) and STILL it became quite obvious that despite the fact that the timer is moving EXTREMELY SLOW, I was going to lose.
The reason that I knew that I was going to lose is because of the fact that 99 percent of the matches were only useful for the areas of the game that had ALREADY been successfully completed rendering the 1 percent so weak in trying to complete the OTHER area of the level that you might've well as not have had it at all.
This particular level does NOTHING to assist the gamer is making important matches for the 1 area to be cleared AFTER ALMOST AN HOUR of playing time. As a matter of fact, this particular level makes it impossible to make legitimate moves after only a single to 3 moves because there are NO MATCHES to be made in that area UNTIL you make a half dozen moves in the OTHER area giving you a power-up to clear a row and then again you can only make 1-3 moves when you're stuck again and have to waste more time making moves that take up too much time and is little to no help in assisting the gamer clearing the REAL side of the board.
I became so angry and frustrated that I decided to get this ignorant game OFF my computer BEFORE throwing said computer through the window.
This is a game that I HONESTLY did NOT enjoy to the point that I uninstalled the game while in the 40's level and surprised that I forced myself to play that long.
CONS
*Unable to match coal pieces to remove from board and hence, they built up and up and up making it almost impossible to make any moves
*Unable to match coin pieces to remove from board and again they built up and up and up making it almost impossible to make any moves
*Despite making 4-5 match pieces, the power-ups took FAR TOO LONG to appear
*the dynamite pieces on the board were soooooooo weak that unless you were practically on top of the board piece you wanted to remove, they were virtually useless
*oftimes the placement of the dynamite pieces were useless as you had to explode them as your ONLY move ruining whatever strategy you had created to complete the level(s)
*most often, I had to repeat a level at least 4-5x and most of the time alot more times than that before FINALLY completing a level because I'd run out of time
*oftimes your time is wasted making nonsense moves that RARELY assist in completing a level
I've played enough Match3 games to know how to strategize but this game felt like it'd been deliberately set up to do nothing more than to force a gamer to repeat levels; hence hinting at the prospect of it being a LONG game and thus giving the false pretense that you got your money's worth.
A jeweler is tasked with the restoration of some timeworn jewelry, but when he mysteriously disappears, rumors circulate that the pieces may be cursed.
There are MANY gamers who've made the statement that there is no RELAXED mode but the good news is that THERE IS A RELAXED MODE and the BEST NEWS is that you can remain on the same level AFTER going to your Options menu and clicking on Relaxed mode after failing said level.
Also, if you quickly and continuously move unwanted gems to the treasure chest which is to the bottom towards the right-hand side, you can continue to add minutes to your timer and eventually win a level in the TIMED mode. Just be careful, if you can, and not place colored gems that you may need for the necklace piece as there are some levels which will only allow you to place specific colored gems in specific colored areas..
Most often power-ups are not only expensive but also are few and far between in Match3 games with the ability of earning coins very time-consuming.
While the 2nd & 3rd power-ups are indeed expensive -- I only purchased the +5 ones -- the coins add up quickly allowing you to purchase ALOT of these power-ups. I had purchased the TIMER power-up but RARELY used it when I quickly realized that extra time and my bombs were NOT going to accomplish my goal. I would not purchase as many of the TIMER power-up in the future -- if I were to replay this game.
This was on the 1st of many future levels that had the firecrackers which you have to do your best to aim accurately to turn tiles that are not connected to the main frame of the board green AND these firecrackers are LIMITED per level.
WARNING On this aforementioned level, however, I DID run out of the firecrackers B4 realizing that I had an artifact piece to gather in the upper left-hand corner and separate from the main board. I don't know if it was set-up this way BUT when I moved said piece upward, it did come out of the square thereby completing the level for me.
The crystal power-up is really nice because when placed on a chained tile, it releases ALL of the same colored tiles and the chains. Use it sparingly, if you can, as it's the most expensive power-up.
In this latest installment of Imperial Island, accompany Emperor Omadan on an exciting journey through uncharted lands in search of his son - Prince Caleb.
Sadly, there are MANY of us BigFish gamers that are NOT able to complete this game due to the fact that the last level (Level 100) that is UNCLICKABLE. No matter what you try to do (exit out of game, replay previous level -- which is also UNCLICKABLE despite the tab that says REPLAY, exit game and return a few days later), this game won't play the last level.
It's very disappointing to successfully play a game this long and not be able to complete it.

Although I got tired of having to play this game with any kind of timer (I tend to THINK too much and take too long to take action), this game is GREAT in its provision of different levels of timers; if I remember correctly:
FAST NORMAL SLOW TIMER NO TIMER
This dialogue box appears at the beginning of EACH level which made this game MUCH MORE enjoyable to play.
This game is very good with a very good storyline; HOWEVER, I will NO LONGER give a game higher than a 3-star rating when said game has a hint system that REFUSES to recognize that the "rest the tools" are NOT within my inventory and I STILL NEED to collect them in order to proceed.
After returning to all the other areas that I'd already played in, the hint button STILL would NOT even recognize the fact that I'd even returned to the area in which I needed to gather the "rest of the tools".
After much frustration, I resorted to coming onto the BFG game site and opening up the walkthrough (thank goodness this game has 1) and ascertained where I would find the 1 item needed to open up the other item to gather the "rest of the tools".
I play games to relax and to have my gray brain cells to continue to work (at my age, I need to start using as many as I have to continue to stay in the "real world") not to "knock any of them out" by banging my head against the wall.
