Good strategy Guide. Good journal. Excellent graphics. Same music as the last game of this series. Outside of HOS, hint points to teleportation device. Map in device has green explanation points where you have tasks to perform, and buttons to push for different time periods. Each time period has its own map. In casual mode, this game is easy to moderately difficult.
This time, your goal is to find out what turned your ancestor, Viviana, into a bad witch, and save your family line. If you do nothing, you will cease to exist, and the world's future will be in great danger.
Outside of HOS, this is an intuitive adventure mystery game. You have to ask yourself, "What would work here?" "Where would I use this object?" etc. In casual mode, puzzles and HOS are fairly easy. Excellent strategy guide, with both text and pictures. There is a good journal, as well. Good vocals that match the characters. Music similar, but a little different than previous Edgar A. Poe games. Hints are good in and outside of HOS.
You are given a Newfoundland hound to sniff objects that you place on him, then he follows the scent to other objects/tasks. The dog is next to the hint so you have to be careful not to click on the wrong thing.
Gold beetles, which are called "Bugs" play an important part in this adventure. There are beetles/bugs of other colors as well, in puzzles, HOS, etc.
Beautiful graphics. Great voice-overs. Excellent strategy Guide. Lots and lots of HOS. Easy puzzles. Objects in HOS are well camouflaged, which is a plus. However... The story/adventure got lost with all of the HOS. You have a fire to put out, but before you can put it out, there are several HOS. You are asked to hurry, so you can save lives, but again, you're too busy doing one HOS after another. Those lives are lost.
This game also has items from other time periods. A record player in the 1700's?
I recommend this game for those who love HOS.
I recommend this game!

The Torment of Whitewall Collector's Edition
Only one girl has survived the mysterious attacks on Whitewall, but she’s not talking… So they’ve called you in to end the town’s terrible torment!
Graphics are crisp and clear. Very good strategy guide with pictures and text. Map that lets you teleport. Outside of HOS, hint points to task, or in direction you need to go. Beautiful Latin music, which seemed out of place in old England. Good story about a mad scientist, but there are so many HOS. I like a good adventure/story, but this story is broken up with the huge number of HOS.
Good vocals, except the characters' accents were from all over the place. The little boy who helps has an American accent, and a few others sound American as well.
This Adventure game would be perfect for Halloween. The music is repetitive, the puzzles are easy to moderately difficult, the hints point to objects or tasks in the scene, the vocals are melodramatic. In casual mode, the game is fairly easy. SG, a temperamental little demon with a big head, likes to cause all kinds of mayhem, especially killing, and other gruesome acts. This time, when an undertaker doesn't follow through on a deal, SG causes all the corpses [that the undertaker buried] to rise at night, and walk through the town, growling and making threatening gestures. SG has another mysterious motive for making the undead rise, besides harassing the undertaker. I recommend this game for people who like games about the undead.
I recommend this game!

Reality Show: Fatal Shot Collector's Edition
After a man is murdered on a hit reality TV show, you are called in to uncover the truth behind the crime.
Ok, but not great. Very good graphics, music ok but repetitive, campy vocals, Very good strategy Guide, very good journal. You obtain a black light wand that shows you hints along the way. It blinks when you need to use it, and you focus it on red balloons. No map. Hint points to tasks needed in area, or shows direction needed to travel. Not many HOS. For those who like a good story, this game is like a late night movie with LOTS of commercials. Every little bit, when it starts to get interesting, you have to stop and do a puzzle that has nothing to do with the storyline, but does reward you with a needed object. It's as if the puzzle creators were given absolutely NO info on what the game was about. As much as I love murder mysteries, this game is not for me.
This adventure game was created by the same developers that did Enigmatis, and the quality is just as good, if not even better. Journal is a bit brief, and it also has objectives. Excellent map, except it does not let you teleport. Very good graphics, clear and easy to see. Good hint system. There are some HOS, but not an over-abundance. Played in casual mode, the game was still challenging in some places.
The voice-overs are good, with the main characters voices being done by the same actors who did voice-overs in Enigmatis. A few of the puzzles are very similar to some in Enigmatis, but most are different, or original. Gamers who have played Enigmatis will instantly recognize the photo of the doctor/scientist, a good guy, found about halfway through the game.
The game does not complete the story. There is likely a sequel, or it will be completed in the Collector's Edition. After you play the main game, you've earned the bonus game, which is a prequel. It explains how the resistance movement got started.
This game is more adventure than anything else, but it has aspects of several different types of games. Outside of HOS, hint points where you need to go. Journal includes your diary, clues, and objectives. Good, CAMPY vocals. Love the music. Stunning visuals, if a little bit blurry. Various types of puzzles and tasks. The plot becomes obvious early on, so the mystery is how you save innocents from being murdered. While I normally prefer darker, more challenging games, this one caught my attention as one to play on days I don't feel like relaxing.
Beautiful graphics and music. Ambient sounds hit and miss. Puzzles easy to moderately difficult. Great map that lets you teleport. Good strategy guide, with text and pix. Very good hints, both inside and outside HOS/puzzles.
I have every game Elephant has ever produced for Mac's, and have played each one over and over. But I won't buy this one. The storyline is childish and insipid. The gameplay is easy to moderately difficult.
This game has beautiful graphics, great vocals & ambient sounds, and a wonderful strategy guide. No journal, though, and outside HOS the hint only tells you what your current task is. You have to find the pieces of a map, which gets you to the main area of the game. After that, the map is useless, so it's a good thing you have a strategy guide. However, there are other maps you can look at, but not take with you. There are a lot of varied types of puzzles and intuitive tasks to do.
However, if you're like me, and the story is important-- While the first Phantasmat was very campy, and a lot of fun to play, this one does have a lot to do, but the "movie" part of the game is boring. Surprising, since you're dealing with the results of an devastating avalanche, a psychopath, and a cute beaver that chews through things like your rope, electric wires, etc. It could have been much better.
I am recommending this game for those who like adventure games, and don't care about the story.
