Standard Edition took me 5 hours
Bonus play took 1 hour
(I always play on custom mode and complete ALL hidden object scenes, and as many mini games as possible. I finished 19 of 22 mini games, which is huge for me, as I usually am not a huge fan of the mini
games and prefer the HOS)
TOTAL GAME PLAY: 6 HOURS
I bought + played all three games in this trilogy from start to finish. I loved all of them. Enigmatis, Mists of Ravenwood was my favorite. All three of these games make use of game play in gorgeous locations. You aren't just rambling around an interior location you've seen a million times.
There is not much fantasy in this game.... thank goodness. I have seen WAY to much fantasy this past year. You do see a winged "bird monster" (and in the 2nd edition, Mists of Ravenhood, there was an equally stupid flying monster-crow# but the bird ties in with this rather involved story and is the symbol of good, and Archangel Raphael.
There is a part in the demo where you are looking down, and through, a crashed plane. It reminded me of the PS3 game Uncharted, where Drake hung from a bus. I was blown away how well this area was drawn and the perspective was perfect. Looking over a cliff down on rushing water will make you catch your breath as you watch a hawk fly UNDER you and realize how high up you are.
GRAPHICS- Normally I can't stand hand drawn graphics and prefer the computer gen, due to clarity. But this game is like playing in an oil painting. The colors are bright, locations are gorgeous, and each new scene that came I would find myself "wowed" further. I absolutely LOVED how they kept the game gorgeous despite the fact the subject matter was dark.
HOS, MGs and alternatives: The hidden object scenes are a mix. It has my favorite "list find" with 2 steppers. I did NOT notice and of the silhouette type --which I just can’t stand.
The ALTERNATIVE TO HOS is MATCH GAME. Since the HOS are my FAVORITE part of a hidden object game, I only played it once to see what it was like. It was SO much better then match 3.... too bad it wasn't an alternative to the mini games, which I am not always so fond of.
CHARACTERS: These characters are so perfect they need their own title head. The same voice overs are back from the other games in this series and are some of the best I have ever heard. They speak from where they ARE within the scene. It made the game seem more real for me.
MY FAVORITE PARTS IN GAME: I loved this demo, so chapter 1 and --standard for me--Chapter 3. I am a major Tomb Raider fan, and chap 3 reminded me of "Lara land". You play in mountainous locations; outside, and in the woods some. By chapter 4 you are in a snowy region and the game turns darker. I don't like playing through snow and rain as it messes with the graphics for me. Even though the game is darker here, you are NOT in some “weirdly aqua world” which was a huge plus.
Chapter 5 has a great mini game. It is page 52 of the strategy guide. It is super fun. You need to prepare and powder color several shades of Jade and paint an artifact with them. Chapter 5 also had a terrific mini game across several locations using a metal detector to find objects. It was so super fun.
NO DIARY: Evidence board instead. If I EVER saw a more convoluted storyline in a game in need of a notebook, it was this one. The evidence board did not really refresh the story than it did further the game. Occasionally you find a random notebook lying around that does explain the story a pinch more.
BONUS PLAY: The final chapter was kind of a bummer for me. You play 9 areas. 6 of the 9 are revised from the final chapters of the SE. The 3 new areas are very pretty though so I am glad I got the CE. They include a cave which was a gorgeous room, a secret chapel & a narrow path.
I REALLY loved this series and will probably replay the second Enigmatis so I can play the bonus since I'd only purchased the SE for that edition and wished I'd got the CE.
There are 4 HOS in bonus play and 6 mini games. There is NO MAP in bonus and NO MORE COLLECTIBLES in bonus play.
Though you still have that useless task book...geez I can't stand those task books.
The storyline in bonus play happens in the period just before, and overlaps a pinch of when the timing of the demo starts. It has an awesome initial cut scene where I'm talking to Jenny. My character is BB #Britney#. Fang's father and Fang are in bonus too.
TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA HOW LONG BONUS IS:
Chap 1 is 11 pages, Chap 2 is 5pgs, Chap 3 is 11pgs, Chap 4 is 13pg, Chap 5 is 12p, Chap 6 is 4pgs, & bonus is 11pgs.
CE GOODIES: 9 DL music tracks 12 concept art which is only viewable, not DL. Replay 8 beautifully done cut scenes, There is an in- game strategy guide and bonus play took me about an hour.
The ending of the Standard Edition is really powerful. You see Archangel Raphael, and a fight between good and evil.
IF YOU LIKED THIS GAME: You will probably like:
Mystery Tales, Her own eyes
Whispered Secrets, Ever burning candle
Grim Tales, The Wishes
Also try Haunted Hotel, Charles Dexter Ward --an older game, maybe without a map, but a must see.
I want to thank Big Fish Games and Artifex Mundi.
This game is like playing in a gorgeous oil painting. It was perfectly done. You gave me hours of happiness and I'll be sure to play this one again!! Please give me a screen saver next CE. If you make them, I’ll keep buying them--I have just shy of 400 games!
I recommend this game!

This is the first in a trilogy. It is an older game and I finished it in 2011.
I have played MANY games by now and this is one of the only ones that actually frightened me out of my chair. (This part is near the end and not in the demo).
This series still stands out as a favorite of mine. It can be challenging at times.
This is a high quality series and the last one even offers more than many CE do for the SE price. The Last Act (#3, has a great screensaver, DL concept art, in game strategy guide and you can replay the amazing cut scenes.)
In order to appreciate these games though, I would suggest playing them in order.
I highly recommend this series.

This is the second in a series of 3. I initially finished this game in 2011. I feel this is the best of the 3, but I loved them all.
The graphics are perfect. This game can also be challenging (in fact all of them in this series are).
I still love this series, many years later and highly recommend trying it!

The first thing you have to realize about this game, it was made a while ago then released here. I've been playing these games for years so I loved it. I played all 3 in the series back in 2011; from start to finish. The Hookman has a spot that really scares you! It is rare I've ever been scared out of my chair but that one knocked me a few inches up in the seat!!
In order to fully appreciate this installment you really should play the first 2 in the series (of 3#.
I absolutely LOVED the graphics.
This SE #which is offered as a Premium Edition )comes with a lot of bang for the buck. The screensaver was worth the purchase alone! It has an in game walkthrough guide, dl concept art and you can replay (the amazing) cut scenes.
This game was made with quality and to this day, this series, remains high on my list of favorites!!
I recommend this game!

If you are on the fence as to buy the CE or not.... I bought the CE,,, and finished the bonus too.
****************MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*******************
The SE portion of the game took me around 5 hours 5min (with an AMAZING END)
The bonus play took me, 1hr 5min
I play all the HOS- not the match 3 + I tend to skip standard type mini games, and play on custom setting.
TOTAL GAMEPLAY with bonus was 6 hr. 10min
This installment 6 of Phantasmat was WAY better than #5. I also liked #4 very much too. FINALLY, the graphics are clearer. Is it me? or are some areas clearer than others? The characters seem like live actors with a computer assist….. They are PERFECT, and I mean these characters are PERFECTLY DONE. They now speak from inside the scene, where they should, instead of putting the head of the person with text up front. The voice actors are perfect too. The graphics are good, not great…but the clarity of the secondary windows and characters are GREAT in this installment.
The ENTIRE game is played in dreary, run-down locations. The locations and feel of the game is VERY similar to Phantasmat #3 The Endless Night. I often wonder WHY do creepy games have to have to be in a run- down dirty place? Being an artist, it bugs me when an area’s perspective is off…. there is a bit of that here. A couple I noticed that are really noticeable are The Hanson home’s front room (the floor rolls down to the right) in Pam’s level of the demo. Also, Chap 2, pg. 5 of WTG looking up the hall, it almost makes you sick.
Where you first drive up is very similar to the game Enigmatis #1.
The story line was realistic & creepy. I loved it. The scariest part being, we have a vacation place in Vermont and you drive past many a gas station like this….. And I swear to you there is a house on the opposite side of our mountain that looks identical to the Hanson house!! It is super remote (no cell phones) and it even comes with all its own broken down cars and bus’s!
From the very beginning I had trouble trying to figure out who is who in this game. I ended up mostly understanding by the very end of the SE play…. But had to REPLAY the beginning of the game after I played the bonus to determine Doug and Sammy are traveling in the backseat MY (the female player in SE) car. Apparently I have no name and I am driving us all to “the big game”. Doug is my brother. Pam, and her brother Terry are already captive at the Hanson residence when we arrive at the gas station and my character must save them. Jeffery Hanson is the, ouch- axe holding, serial killer and his creepy mother knows what Jeff is up to and is seen a few times throughout the game.
We also meet up with another random guy who has also been held against his will, which we assist, later in the game. I don’t know his name. He is the person after Doug- Chapter 3.
FAVORITE SPOT IN GAME IS CHAPTER 3 DOUG’S CHAPTER- There is a HOS here that deserves mention. It was a blast. It shifts between several scenes that you have to interactively find items build a sand castle. As you continue completing each section it slides by itself into the next section of the HOS.
HOS & Diary, hint, map and Match 3- The HOS are varied and cater to all. The map is nothing special to look at but it serves the purpose as a portal task map. Hint is helpful step by step and also acts as a portal jump. Match 3 can be played instead of HOS (wish it was instead of the mini games) and can be replayed in the CE content. There is NO DIARY. Since I play so many games at once it is so helpful to have a place to brush up on the story. This game REALLY needed a diary to clarify who is who and how and why they are there. I played the entire beginning thinking the Pam/Kirk team was the Doug/sister team and it just became a confusing mess. The BASIC idea of the entire story was good, but there should never have been 2 brother/sister combo’s … and you never know how any of the others became captive.
ABOUT BONUS PLAY: . This bonus play was a disappointment for me.
The WAY bonus is ended does not match how the SE is ended. I also got angry at my character and how she deals with the end cut scene in bonus play.
By the time the bonus chapter is played, the SE had already tied the game up in a neat little bow.
So its best if you know now, when you begin to play bonus, that you go BACK to sometime BEFORE the end of the when the standard game is happening, to a place in time where you are playing as Sammy, with Doug nearby. Doug mentions to Sammy he is “looking for his sister” (his sister being your character in the SE part of this game.)
Knowing how the SE ends, it made NO SENSE to me at all when or why or what was going on with the bonus story, so I hope I am clearing this up a bit. Personally, the end of the bonus play has no correlation to the end of the SE and it actually ends up being a conundrum. When you play both together you’ll see what I mean.
You play 8 scenes in the bonus play. Only 1 area, a graveyard, is new and all the other areas are the same as they were in the standard edition play. Often, I will see a “reconfigured” area or they will at least change the time of day, but nothing is changed here.
There are 4 HOS and 5 mini games in bonus play. I tried and skipped ALL the minigames in this section. You collect green jars in each new scene and continue collecting them in bonus.
CE GOODIES ARE:
8 x 4sz wallpapers (wish they’d drop the other 3 sizes and give us another 5 wallpaper), 15 non-savable small, black and white concept art without logo, 6 dl music tracks, bonus play, in game walkthrough guide,
there is a bonus video (that remains locked until the end of bonus play) that is 1min33sec long. It is all visual, no voice, and you get a glimpse of some of the artists & Dev at Eipix with some random pictures related to the game. You can replay 13 HOS, replay 20 mini games, replay match 3, and replay the cut scenes. An Achievement page is set up on a slider- I only got 8 of the 12 Achievem. The Collectible page has shelves that hold your green jars and you can click on any you missed to re-enter that area and look for it. Once that is complete the SOUVIENIER ROOM is unlocked- where you re-visit 20 of the SE locations and find 1 item each.
STRATEGY GUIDE
There is an in game 45pg walkthrough guide. 6 pgs. devoted to directions and collectibles. To give you an idea of how long the bonus play is,
CHAPTER 1- PAM 9pgs.
CHAP 2-TERRY 7pgs.
CHAP 3-DOUG 7pgs.
CHAP 4 Kirk & Sammy 8pgs
BONUS PLAY- Sammy+ Doug 8 pgs.

For anyone wondering how the entire SE plays out or if you are on the fence to buy the CE... I am glad I did,,, here is why-
****************MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*******************
I play all of these games on custom mode.
The SE portion of the game took me around 5 hours
The bonus play 1 took me, 1hr 15min
Bonus play 2 unlocks when you find collectibles:
It took me 15 minutes.
TOTAL GAMEPLAY with bonus was 6 hr. 30min
MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ME TO TELL YOU:
This is my favorite in this series and currently my new favorite game of all. They took a risk with turning the series spookier and it WORKS! If they make the next one exactly the same I will buy CE on day 1. Everything about this game works. It takes a lot for me to say that too.
Secondly, even though it has a “darker” storyline…. the atmosphere is rather beautiful throughout most of the game, so spending time here is well worth your while.
Third, this game, of all the games I have played over the years, has THE BEST HIDDEN OBJECT SCENES I have EVER DONE! This is the first game I wished to have doubles of them. They can be replayed in bonus. The type you see in demo, will carry on throughout the game. Most are 3D or multiple scene basis, where you have to spin or turn or flip through panels to find all the objects.
And Finally, if they had used the bonus play as the demo I bet this game would have a solid 5* rating instead of the 4.8 rating it has as of this review. This is the only game I have EVER PLAYED that I actually liked the bonus BETTER than the demo, with the exception of Sable Maze Sullivan River.
Each Chapter is a different person committed to this hospital and how each transformed into some weird “other” self. Some of these were farfetched but the site seeing and game play just flows over the oddities.
FAVORITE SPOT IN GAME IS CHAPTER 3- The wedding scene, it is in front of a gorgeous stained glass window, and there is gameplay before a 3 part mirror that just knocks your socks off. Chap 3 also has a castle above the land, which you will see again revamped. The bonus play is my other favorite play of the entire game….see “about bonus play”.
MAP, HINT, DIARY, GRAPHICS, VOICE ACTORS, & MUSIC- The MAP is a rough sketch with portal windows to fast travel to the next task. It is super basic but does serve the purpose. HINT is helpful step by step that also has the capacity to teleport to other areas quickly. There is a basic type of diary that holds notes you pick up in the game— better than none. The GRAPHICS are rich, clear, and with great color. The tones chosen through the entire game and especially in the bonus area are perfect. The characters look almost live, the voice overs are perfect, and the music is great…. it all works.
ABOUT BONUS PLAY- This game shows 2 bonus play but technically only the first is extra play… and the second is a rather quick and it remains locked until all of the collectable “orbs” are located.
The actual bonus play is 9 areas of play and of those, the first 3 we have already seen in SE play, the next 3 areas are new, and really worth seeing, and the final 3 are revised areas. There are 5 new hidden object scenes to play and 5 new Mini games. The story is Fiona is trapped and asks Angelina for help.
*****Did I just feed a can of cat food to Fiona but I gave the croissant to the swan?? Tasty brand, she gobbled it up faster than my cat ever could. You see this in bonus play part 1, area 7 in the basement.
Those very fun “Blot tests” you see in demo are played throughout the whole game and continue into bonus. I adored those. Rarely have I purchased both the SE and liked it so much to use credit or a sale to buy the CE, but this is one of those to come back for someday. I would have really bummed out if I hadn’t bought the CE right from day 1.
Finding COLLECTABLES is BONUS 2 PLAY:
********THIS SECTION HAS SPOILER SO DON’T READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW*******
This section unlocks when you find all the MARBLES. I had missed 1 and it was nice to be able to reenter the scene that I missed to collect it.
The 2nd bonus play is called A BRILLIANT MIND- It starts you in that area that spins with the 6 different children (from the SE play) at the front of each hall. Again, you answer their riddle in order to proceed to the final locked door which unlocks to a cut scene. I play with Windows 7 and the voices didn’t play for this kids this time…so I am not sure if it was just my computer. At least there is still text to see what they are saying. The cut scene didn’t make sense to the end to me, or to the game as a whole for that matter, and after that the game’s credits roll.
CE GOODIES ARE:
Xtra play, Find all the orbs has 15 min gameplay. REPLAY these perfect HOS & replay MG & cutscenes, , The 5 concept art has logo but it is just black and white quick sketches, BUT there are 5 pictures of artists from this DEV either at some place during their work on this game. Too bad we didn’t have 10 pic of the DEV and NO concept art…. Would much rather see my heros. Ah, well maybe next time. There is an achievement page
10 MUSIC DL
10 WALLPAPERS
51 PG IN GAME WTG
STRATEGY GUIDE
There is an in game 51pg walkthrough guide. To give you an idea of how long the bonus play is compared to the demo,
CHAP 1- Angelina 11pgs.
CHAP 2- Graham 7pgs.
CHAP 3-Gwen 11pgs.
CHAP 4 Fiona 7pgs
BONUS PLAY- Burning Women 10 pgs.

Geez, was I ever addicted to this game! I did nothing else it seems, until I'd gone back and tried to get gold for every level.
COOLEST THING! If you end up getting gold for each of the 12 levels of that resort you will UNLOCK A WALLPAPER!
Another reviewer at BFG had it as their favorite TM game so I thought I'd try it, so glad I did!
This game has a LOT of dragging customers. You even drag them to the cash register. At times they don't always want to stay in the dragged spot too, but the more you play the better your accuracy will become.
This game has a resort at 5 different places. Each place has 12 different levels. Basics are placing a person into the resorts room, and completing fun tasks specific to that location, as they vacation. You will also feed and give drinks at all locations.
part 1- A ski resort. There is a hot tub, a bonfire, and ski lift for the skiers.
part 2- A beach resort. There are surf boards, a submarine ride, and lounge chairs.
part 3- Slumber falls, hot springs resort offers river boat rides, a pool tub and lounge chairs.
part 4- Cat nap studios Amusement park resort- has a roller coaster ride, kissing booths and other rides.
part 5- Casino resort offers gaming tables, a dance floor and a lounge area.
Tips for getting gold for each level.
~ I played the game through all 5 parts/levels and CAME BACK to the levels one by one to obtain gold. Just before the end of the last levels at the Casino go back before the credits roll. You will probably want more practice before those end levels anyway. The best thing is, as you continue getting gold for each level you are obtaining more money to purchase the rest of the upgrades maybe you couldn't afford with your first try at that level. That was brilliant because so many games will just stop giving upgrades but this one doesn't.
~ 9 times out of 10 if you drag a person to a spot, there will be a task for that same person as soon as you've accomplished the first. So I would usually double click each person.
~ Pay close attention to the sites and sounds of the monsters. If a monster zaps you restart the level if you are trying to get gold. The bushes will make a sound and it is easier to listen for the monster then see him. He usually will come out in groups of 3. By the Casino level 5/8 to 5/12 were really hard levels. Keep at it!
~Try to handle people as groups in a certain area so she doesn't have to race too far away from 1 task to the next.
~ Each level you will be purchasing upgrades. Pay attn. to WHAT you just upgraded and be sure to put customers in those special spots.
~CLOUDS- At some point you will upgrade to buy more "happy customer" clouds. If you haven't used all your clouds by the end of the level hand them all out to your customers standing to pay.
If you like this game you will probably like:
JET SET GO. Also a super fun TM game. I'll add it as a link to this one.
I hope I helped you get those wallpapers!! I am SURE I will play this game over and over.
Thank you to its Dev. and BFG for so many hours of fun!
I recommend this game!

****************MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*******************
This installment of Grim Tales took me around 3.5 hours give or take.
I did not buy the CE and up until now, I had bought and played all of the GT editions. I didn’t see this one had a screensaver in the demo so I didn’t buy the CE.
This installment is shorter than the others. It was a good game in whole, but I felt it wasn’t the best in this series.
MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ME TO TELL YOU:
Chapter 2 has a cute mini game where you sew sails for a toy ship. There is also a hidden object scene in Chap 2 I loved, in the Study; each item is made of 2 other items to find and apply. In Chapter 3, just before you enter the building… has a neon sign ELEPHANT GAMES. And you meet up with an electrician who had an ID card, Elephant games is also listed there. These little touches were adorable. Chap 3, once in Howard’s apartment; there is a hidden object scene of inside his refrigerator that is just gross. I would tell you why but this review probably won’t get posted. I’ve stated before, I wish the DEV were more sensitive to the fact this is a casual game and most people don’t want to see the gross things in his fridge. It was unnecessary.
Like all of the Grim Tales games since Color of Fright, the game is set up with Aunt Gray’s evidence which is set up as tabs on the right side of screen. You can re-watch all the cut scenes here, as if it were a CE and it really helps with a story brush up reminder.
Chapter 4 has a really great “super puzzle” mini game that requires several steps.
Chapter 5 Anna goes way back to a chapter called “the town”. It reminded me of the late 1600’s. This entire level was well done.
FAVORITE SPOT IN GAME IS:
End of Chapter 2 into Chapter 3 there is a VHS tape you put in a tv. When you do, it plays this great cut scene that is very dramatic.
When you enter Howard’s building in Chapter 3 there is one of the best mini games I have ever played. It involves several rooms to complete and has a beautiful, but angry, dog and an adorable cat. As you enter Howard’s apartment, though, the game gets much darker and took a turn for the worse for me.
It was awesome though, when we finally get in to Howard’s attic. It is SUPER SPOOKY! I was actually unnerved a bit. It reminded me of how well this was done in Grim Tales Color of Fright when you see the little girl in corner during the rendition pertaining to the school for GT Bloody Mary “memory”. Both of these moments, in this series….SCARY! Scary good.
HINT, DIARY, GRAPHICS, VOICE ACTORS, & MUSIC-
The hint was a helpful step x step with a portal jump. I used it a lot as there is a lot of jumping in this game and trying to remember where items go is too convoluted without it. The graphics are typical Elephant Games. Also typical for this DEV the voice actors and music were both perfect. There is a great diary that keeps you informed of the story as the game proceeds. It is worth the time to stop and read it every level.
IF YOU LIKED THIS GAME HERE ARE SOME OTHERS LIKE IT:
Play the other Grim Tales in this series IN ORDER…. each one mentions the last one in some way.
Mystery Case Files: Dire Grove Sacred Grove- but this game is set in the winter.
Mystery Trackers #8: Nightsville Horror.
Many thanks to Big Fish Games!
And to Elephant… this fan appreciates you!
I recommend this game!

I am posting this review under the SE first for those of you that are on the fence to get the SE or the CE.
*note to anyone who doesn’t know this…. always be sure to change the “SORT BY” method on this page to see the NEWEST people, as those are usually the ones that have actually finished the game and not just the demo…. Also--If you “mouse over” or click on the Big-fisher’s username, in blue, you can see their other reviews.
If they make the next one exactly the same I will buy CE on day 1, again.
