This one is a bit different and I loved it! I've never played a match 3 like this.
It's set up like an old arcade game where your character runs through tunnels. You have to bypass blockages in the tunnels by playing M3 boards. You collect coins and other rewards too, as well as saving little animals/creatures, in the tunnels that you will apply to the "map area" of the game. You use your money to build living conditions for the little saved animals and to progress through areas on the map.
It's funny to see your character receive items in the map area by other characters. She squats down and they just appear; ta da!
I recommend this game!

The other 2 reviews have summed it up perfectly. The dark background is blended with the "working areas" of the grids and it makes it hard to tell where you are. I play with a large screen monitor, so on a smaller computer this would be even worse.
By the 4th grid, the numbers are too small to get most new players to this genre off and running without getting frustrated. I also had trouble applying the bonus upgrades until I realized they needed to "fill up".
I was really annoyed by the 6th grid that I had to replay the previous grids with 2 stars to move on. I'd already had to replay a couple of the levels due to "guessing" with a few misfires.
I really disliked the music, it loops and I shut it off finally.
I did like all the sound effects to this game and the way it would highlight sections of a picture once you completed an area.
This is a good, not great, grid game. There are just better ones to spend your money on so I'd highly suggest a demo before purchase.
And one last thing.... What is up with Momma panther character? She appears to have a chill husband and children (with normal clothing on) so why is she wearing a tight tank top and daisy dukes? I'm not a prude but it certainly didn't fit this game.

As another reviewer said, this game doesn't even have a volume control in the options, just music on/off. Trust me and turn it off as the music is a repetitive loop.
You have to wait before interrupting the auto matches the game continues making after you've made a match. At times it was making so many matches on it's own that as I was waiting (and doing something else) it completed the level by itself!
Limited moves-- and the level gets failed.
Huge banner words such as "flawless" interrupt play.
Some of the icons look almost identicle. An example is in level 6, there are two types of gold cups. One has fire and one doesn't and it's just annoying.
Even though this game feels like it was designed more for a tablet or phone, I would not even load/play it on those either.
I don't recommend this game.

If I had to sum up this entire game, it would be “A haunting crime who-done-it, interesting story, and not at all scary”. I thought the graphics were clearer than some of Elefun’s other games and its windowed state adjusted nicely to a larger monitor.
This game is one of the few that actually changes the TIME OF DAY! I’m just stoked when a game changes up the time of day in a scene and/or the basic color scheme of the game. I’ve noticed if I’ve played in the same color scheme & areas that look too much alike, it becomes a little monotonous. So in a good way, it really is a game changer for me. ha-ha
I wished the text bars would have stayed up a bit longer and re-appear if the item was clicked on again; but they did stay up when characters were speaking. I actually bought the CE to this game and wrote a more detailed review under that version of the game regarding the bonus play, and details of the bonus you can't really see in the demo.
Chapter 4 was probably my favorite chapter in this game.
The SE portion of the game took me 3 hrs. 28 min.
The CE bonus took me 1 hour 30 min.
Total gameplay- a couple min. short of 5 hrs.
MUSIC: Typical to Elefun games, the music is great in this title too, and ones I saved from the CE content. One track sounds almost "Ancient Egyptian". Sometimes I listen to the CE DLs of gaming music while doing Reiki, in real life, to assist with the relaxation level needed. So its a perfect game for someone that just wants to chill out after a busy day.
HOPs & MG: There are just too many of these to list that I really liked. There is a HOP in chapter 4 where you hand items back into the scene to a miner. It felt like a lot of time & effort went into this one. Matching pictured items from inventory to place back into the HOP is one of my favorite types of HOPs, especially the way it was done here (I also like the standard list with some interaction).
Chapter 4 has another HOP at the lake, where you move items within the scene to match silhouettes. At one point you even toss a rock into the water to make a fish pop out. How innovative is that?? The lake area itself (along with a location in bonus play) is the most beautiful scene in the game.
My favorite MG was at the VERY end of the main game. When you see a computer, be sure to click all the tabs on the screen to get the most out of this. Much of the story is tied up here and it’s important to read it. The main game has a great end and is independent from the CE bonus play.
IF YOU LIKED THIS GAME, maybe demo these, they remind me of this one in some ways.
1. Lake House: Children of Silence (2012 game though)
2. Phantasmat Reign of Shadows (Especially at the beginning)
3. Enigmatis 3- Shadow of Karkhala
Thank you BFG—Great job Elefun!
I recommend this game!

For a Halloween themed game, this has a little something for everyone and I think it will appeal to both adults and children. The entire game felt more “old school” Elephant game….a compliment. The graphics were colorful, clean and clear on a larger monitor. There were enough cuts-scenes and character interaction to keep your interest the entire game. The HOS were detailed and well thought out-- I liked them all but these two stood out for me. Chapter 2, area Lobby, had one of my favorite TYPES of HOS where you put objects back into the scene. Also, the next HOS (also in Chapter 2), area dining room, slides through several screens and each one was more incredible than the next. It starts out with silhouette items (I prefer “shadow items” to silhouettes in general- only because often there are just too many options it could be) but it still played great.
Be sure to take the time and really look at all the fun objects on that dining room table. I commend Elephant, for their great sense of humor!
The amount of time and effort the DEV used to think through everything the player sees in this game is obvious but as others have stated, this game is short.
I bought the CE to this game and put more details about the bonus play & extras under that page for those that may prefer more information about that version.
The SE portion of the game took me 2hr28min
The CE bonus play took me 1hr
TOTAL GAMEPLAY with CE bonus play was 3hr28min
(Timed gameplay on custom mode, at an average pace, play all the HOPs, and try then skip any MG I get frustrated with so it may take you a little more or less.)
There is no diary; and no way to review the cut-scenes in this one. I would just love if the DEVs would include a summary of each chapter & incorporate the cut-scenes into it. Because quite often I will play a demo-wait for a sale, play other games, then resume the game where I left off once I’ve bought it. But due to that lapse of time I've forgotten the story. So it would be so appreciated if that came standard in a game.
I seemed to have a love/hate feeling for this game at the midway point of chapter 3. I say this because I really loved the demo, chapter 2, most of chapter 3 but it takes a turn from whimsical Halloween to a weird, dark, portal fantasy world. A few scenes are revised-repeated too by the end Chapter 3. I absolutely loved the intro scenes of the demo, and on in to the festive party but wished we’d actually played in the room with the party and colorful party-goers and had more scenes like that. The game picked up with a great end cut-scene and I really liked how the main game ended. The SE end is not reliant on the CE play.
Elephant is so much better lately with the amount of time the inventory items are carried so you tend to remember where they go in this game. I loved that you usually used an item in the room next to the pick-up and/or just a quick glance at the task map to see where to go quickly (plus any puzzle pcs. you may have missed). I also liked being able to see, at a glance, where most the items went, without having to open the smaller frames.
IF YOU LIKED THIS DEMO/GAME- Here are some others I thought that were similar, or fun to play around Halloween.
1. Shadows: Price for our Sins (2013, a HOPA that also has a Halloween Party, beautiful graphics— and so fun. I usually replay it once a year). I'll add a link to it......................
2. Fright CE- (2014) you play in autumn like areas, with live actors, it’s an all-time favorite of mine. 3. League of Light- Wicked Harvest (2014)
4. Witches Legacy: Covered by the Night (2017)
5. Evil Pumpkin The Lost Halloween (2014)
Scarier Type HOPA to play at Halloween:
1. Maze: Subject 360 (2015)
2. True Fear: Forsaken Soul (2014)
3. Phantasmat: The Dread of Oakville (2015- The end of SE is scary! Scary great…)
My favorite matches 3’s at Halloween are:
Queen’s Garden Halloween, Jewel Match Twilight, & Spooky Bonus
I hope this helps someone, and Happy Halloween!
Many thanks to BFG & Elephant Games,
I will replay this for sure + can’t wait for the next one

The amount of time and effort the DEV used to think through everything the player sees in this game is obvious but as others have stated, this game is short. It is by far the shortest HOPA I’ve played here in all my years at BFG. All I could think of was, JUST IMAGINE, if Elephant had no time restriction to make this game, it would have been a plus 5* for me.
The SE portion of the game took me 2hr28min
The bonus play took me 1hr
TOTAL GAMEPLAY with CE bonus play was 3hr28min
(Timed gameplay on custom mode, at an average pace, play all the HOPs, and try then skip any MG I get frustrated with so it may take you a little more or less.)
I think the Halloween Doll collectibles will appeal more to the younger set. They have their own little shelves/room. Be sure to click on each one to see the funny effects! I missed one and couldn't go back for it. I suggest you glance at the collectible area of the WTG, they are circled in yellow, every so often before you move on in the game. I thought it was so innovative how they are actually hidden in the scenes rather than just the "statue pick ups" I've seen in the past.
There is no diary; and no way to review the cut-scenes in this one. I would just love if the DEVs would include a summary of each chapter & incorporate the cut-scenes into it. Because quite often I will play a demo, wait for a sale, play other games, and come back to the game once I’ve bought it + due to that lapse of time, quite often, I’ll forget the story and wish there was a summary of the chapters.

ABOUT BONUS PLAY-
Poor Jane is plagued with nightmares, from the main game experience. She asks advice and races off to save the day again. You continue all 3 collectibles in bonus play. There is one more (8 pc.) puzzle left in your guide to collect + assemble. I expected this game to have screensavers, per usual for Elephant, but it didn’t. I was so bummed out to see you only put together a few bitty jigsaw puzzles. I waited for a sale on this title because of this but would have bought it day one if it had screensavers instead.
The actual bonus play has 8 areas of play and of those, 4 are NEW and 4 are OLD, or slightly revised of what we’d played in the main game. If I counted right there are 4 HOS to play and 9 new mini games. I really liked the bonus play, which took me an hour. I didn’t like playing the “revised” scenes due to disliking them in the main game but liked the new scenes very much. Some of the mini games were really fun in bonus (and I’m usually a HOP not MG person).
**********Potential Spoiler, the “SECRET ROOM” is different then we usually see by Elephant. Skip this if you don’t want to know what unlocks instead.**************
Instead of searching different game locations like we are used to by this DEV. --replay of all the MG & HOS unlocks after bonus play.
***********END potential spoiler************

I’m including each chapter’s pg. amount so you can gage how much gameplay is there.
CHAP 1-Party (demo) is 9 pgs, CHAP 2- Mansion is 7pgs.
CHAP 3- Portal is 9 pgs, BONUS PLAY is 9 pgs, other-3 pgs. – Total of 37 pages

MUSIC: Typical to Elefun games, the music is great in this title too. My favorite song in this game was the track called “Sacred Sanctuary” and it reminded me of ancient Egypt. I’m a Reiki healer, in real life, and I use some of these beautiful clips in the background during a session to assist with the relaxation level you need. The end title credits song was one of the most innovative I’ve seen in casual gaming…. It incorporated the story, so be sure to watch/listen to the credits!!! Spythere, didn't you just love the music in this one too?
HOPs & MG: There are just too many of these to list that I really liked. Chapter 4 is probably my favorite chapter in this game. There is a HOP in chapter 4 where you hand items back into the scene to a miner. It felt like a lot of time & effort went into this one. The best MG in the game for me was at the VERY end of the main game. When you see a computer make sure to click on everything to get the most out of this. Much of the story is tied up here and it’s important to read it.
RE BONUS & BONUS PLAY: It starts out where I was thinking, “I’m confused, and is that even possible?” Oh well- I’m in the land of casual gaming + it’s all ok in this altered state of reality. Those of you that like when you play as a MALE CHARACTER instead of female lead…. you get to here. I'm a female myself and like playing as both. In one bonus location you are Emma again, but travel through to an earlier time and play as a male called Archibald Norman Brady. In area 7 of bonus (the gold mines) a HOP has A++ narration with the cool drum music in the background, the whole thing was good!
The MAJORITY of the bonus play is NEW PLAY. It is worth your while. And even some of the revised scenes were altered so much I had to check the WTG to see if they were new areas.
********* Potential spoiler- next I describe one area in bonus, what happens if you miss the collectible eyes, & I describe what the 3 screensavers do, so FWD to "end spoiler"*********
There is one new area called “Mount River” with river rapids that look so real I wanted to picnic on the rocks of the cold water! Well, until I saw the reflection in the puddle (with the chest) be sure to note this detail because it’s details like that, that just really make a game go from good to great. The water looks so real. Personally, I thought this area of bonus play was the best one in the entire game—demo included. The Lakeshore in main game is just as pretty.
RE: THE COLLECTIBLE EYES:
This game has a game summary journal via your collectible eyes. I wonder if you get it in the SE, because I feel it really was needed to understand who’s who, & where. If only, they’d give us a summary journal like this outright & standard to both SE & CE of the game) that just explains the chapter again quickly. This journal was so handy but I kept missing the collectible eyes. If you miss them here, you miss out on additions to the story summary. This storyline was really thought out—and, I thought, rather involved but the summary was definitely needed here.
~~~Beware!!~~~ When you open a note collect the eye icon FIRST! Because, by accident, I opened 4 notes/articles and closed them by mistake and the small window shut down, the note becomes inaccessible after you close it. I didn’t even catch on there were eye icons you had to actually CLICK ON to get the story summary text to appear. I was 4 eyes short at the end so I missed 1 entire page of notes of game story and 1 entire jigsaw puzzle of the 5 you assemble.
I wished the text boxes would have stayed up a bit longer and re-appear if an item was clicked on again. It would only stay up for a second and wouldn’t reappear if you click the note or item again but they did stay up when characters were speaking.
SCREENSAVERS- What they do when running.
1. It’s the first scene in the main game. Snow falls, crows flap, and the store owner comes out.
2. Is the area from the main game that has the wooden sign posts Whitefall/Forest. There are falling leaves and the black crows appear & disappear in a puff of black smoke.
3. Is a scene called “Grotto”, a beautiful new scene found only in bonus play. You are in a cave with colorful crystals that twinkle on and off. The water in the cave ripples too.
*********end potential spoilers*********
This game is one of the few that actually changes the TIME OF DAY! I’m just stoked when a game changes up the time of day in a scene and/or the basic color scheme of the game. I’ve noticed if I’ve played in the same color scheme & areas that look too much alike, it becomes a little monotonous. So in a good way, it really is a game changer for me. ha-ha
If you liked these games maybe demo these. They have a similar feel.
1. Lake House: Children of Silence (2012 game though)
2. Phantasmat Reign of Shadows (Especially at the beginning)
3. Enigmatis 3- Shadow of Karkhala
All in all, I really liked this game and the 3 screensavers they give you right up front, the bonus play and DL music tracks made buying this CE version worth it for me.
Thank you BFG--You are the best, Elefun! You keep making them with screensavers & I’ll keep buying them :)
I recommend this game!
Since I’ve been playing match 3 games for years, I can say with confidence this is one of my favorite Halloween games of all time. It is also a LONG game!
In this M3 you decorate a garden with all different Halloween decorations. You can change the scene from night to day and watch your little costumed trick or treaters walk the paths of your garden. The gardens glow, in the night setting with all the different items you buy with your match 3 currency. There are jack-O-lanterns, tombstones, water fountains, and black cats with glowing eyes. Tons of items to buy and change or add to your scenes. Everything about this game works! Get ready to invest some time. Clear colorful graphics and planning your mansion's gardens make this game an all time favorite of mine. This game is very addicting!
I’ve listed some other Halloween match 3 games that are super similar to this one that I also adored here at BFG:
1. Jewel Match: Twilight
~You get wallpapers in the SE of JM- Twilight and decorate a scene for Halloween.
2. Halloween City of Witches
~You decorate a haunted house with currency through matching
3. Spooky Bonus
~Spooky Bonus also gives you wallpapers with the SE! You also decorate a haunted house for Halloween in that game.
4. Secrets of Magic 3: Happy Halloween
~ You also decorate a haunted house by using your M3 currency.
If you like Hidden Object games also try this little jewel of a game made in 2013. It is not normally under a Halloween search.
5. HOPA- Shadows: Price of our sins (I'll add a link)
Thank you BFG, and the Developers. Please give us more like this!
I thought the intro cut scene to this game was just amazing, as you look up into the trees crossing over head. Wow! I actually purchased the CE on sale and I’m glad I bought the longer version.
The task list has a handy counter that keeps track of the percentage of the game you’ve completed; just so you’re aware it’s there.
This is a quality game that became better for me after the demo. Live actors are portrayed as ghosts and they are just off the hook—It is so refreshing to see characters in a game that don’t move in gliding or clunky ways. It feels like Eipix spent time and money to perfect them and it works! For this reason alone, the CE was worth it for me, along with bonus play. This game was larger on quality than quantity I thought, and I’m ok with a shorter game if the time to create it is quality.
The SE portion of the game took me 3 hrs. 2 min.
I play on custom- average rate of play and try to figure out most things but I skip the mini games I get frustrated with. I play all the HOPs & not alt/match 3.
At one point in the demo, when you glance in a window pane & see your character's image reflected, it was perfect! It made me connect to the character and the story more. Pay attention to the water in this game, it looks so real; especially in the “Orchard” in chapter 2. The voice actor for our baddy gets an A++ from me & consistently gave me the creeps throughout the game. I also love when a story taps into the astral plane,OOB exp. & lucid dreaming. This game really nailed that feeling and even the pick up notes where interesting-- on the subject. In general I love the storylines in the Phantasmat series. I feel like this series always tries give you a spooky story that keeps you guessing.
The main game works you up to a great ending and it’s independent from the CE. I loved the ending of the main game.
Chapter 1 pg. 3 wtg-HOS #2 was a blast. In the Children's room. It has several steps + one point it has my favorite type of HOS play, which is placing items BACK into the scene and you even get to use UV goggles at one point.
This same area also has a really fun pin ball machine MG.
Chapter 2 has a MG that is set up like a 80s console video game where you must avoid obstacles with your little car. This one was so fun and had me on my toes in the fastest setting.
Chapter 4 has a maze game, over several scenes, where you feel like you are actually walking through the corn yourself.
RE: CUT SCENES & JOURNAL- This game DOES NOT HAVE a journal that holds notes or articles. I feel these are needed because it usually takes me several days to complete a game so I like to brush up on the story upon restarting every so often.
It’s obvious a lot of work goes into the cut scenes (and storybook sequences) and it would be so great to have a journal that holds them. At the very least, a Chapter summary, applied to BOTH the SE & CE versions as a way to review the tale + want to actually play to the end to see what happens.
If you liked this game you might want to try these—I thought these were similar here at BFG:
1. Phantasmat #4- The Dread of Oakville is the scariest of this series (later in the game), and also perfect for a scare at Halloween. I’ve added a link.
2. Fright CE (also a great game to play at Halloween with live actors). It’s an older game but it does have a jump map and a favorite of mine to this day. You also play in a corn field.
3. Bonfire Stories: The Faceless gravedigger (has a similar in game feel)
4. Sable Maze #7 Nightmare Shadows 2017, and its predecessor, Sable Maze #1 Sullivan River (older game, with no maps, slow hint) also starts out with kids at a camp.
If you want to see more details what CE bonus content unlocks, and bonus play- I’ve listed that info. under that game page.
Thanks to BFG, and Eipix, you should be so proud of yourselves! The great graphics and use of live actors mixed in; makes for a really fun game. These are the best rendering of “ghosts” I have ever seen in casual gaming. Great job.
I recommend this game!
I thought the intro cut scene to this game was just amazing, as you look up into the trees crossing over head. Wow!
The task list has a handy counter that keeps track of the percentage of the game you’ve completed; just so you’re aware it’s there.
This is a quality game that became better for me after the demo. Live actors are portrayed as ghosts and they are just off the hook—It is so refreshing to see characters in a game that don’t move in gliding or clunky ways. It feels like Eipix spent time and money to perfect them and it works! For this reason alone, the CE was worth it for me, but I also liked the bonus play. This game was larger on quality than quantity I thought, and I’m ok with a shorter game if the time to create it is quality.
The SE portion of the game took me 3 hr 2 min
The bonus play took me, 38 min
Bonus souv. play- 5 min
TOTAL GAMEPLAY with bonus was 3 hr 45 min
I play on custom- average rate of play and try to figure out most things but I skip the mini games I get frustrated with. I play all the HOPs & not match 3, but know M3 is available here as an alternative
At one point in the demo, we glance in a mirror, & you see the reflected image of the character you are playing. PERFECT. It made me connect to the character and the story more. Pay attention to the water in this game, it looks so real; especially in the “Orchard” in chapter 2. The voice actor for our baddy is also remarkable and consistently gave me the creeps throughout the game. I loved when a story taps into the astral plane and it was perfectly done here. I love the storylines in the Phantasmat series , and this one will not let you down either. The main works you up to a great ending and it’s independent from the CE. I loved the ending of the main game.
Chapter 2 has a MG that is set up like a 80s console video game where you must avoid obstacles with your little car. This one was so fun and had me on my toes in the fastest setting.
Chapter 4 has a maze game, over several scenes, where you feel like you are actually walking through the corn yourself.
ABOUT BONUS PLAY: You play as Ashley again. You are called and told another portal has opened and you must find and close it. You continue the collectibles in the bonus and the morphs in the HOPs (I just prefer the morphs in the main scenes and always forget them in the HOPs.) The bonus play is on the short side, at 38 minutes (for me), but I still feel it was worth playing. The bonus play also has a great ending but it needed a pinch more in the final cutscene to tie it all up, I felt.
There are 7 areas of play in bonus. 3 are NEW AREAS and 4 are OLD or slightly revised. Bonus play is consistent with the rest of the game as far as location and feel. If I counted right, there are 4 more MG and 5 more HOPs. There are 2 more cutscenes in the bonus.
Please refer to the perfect reviews by Codom (& Greenshade) under the CE of this game. I feel exactly the same! Cutscenes used to be a reward and I miss the journal that keeps track of the story. I also love when the DEV show us the “making of” because I’m actually a fan of the DEV and like to see who made what. RE: Cutscenes & Journal- Another DEV does it perfectly at BFG where you don’t have to leave from in game to the extras to view them, like you do in this game. I prefer when they are used beside the inventory – I love when the pickup notes & articles can be clicked on to review the game, IN ORDER of how your viewing them IN gameplay. It really helps a game when you care about saving these characters and you actually remember who did what, and why—So I hope Eipix changes this in their future games.
BONUS TABS THAT UNLOCK
Eipix, if only you’d add a screensaver to the CEs! I’d buy them all!
~After bonus is finished and “alt hop/match 3” unlocks- I wasn’t sure of the purpose of it as it seemed endless.
~You can replay 12 MG, but I thought the game had more.
~8 non logo, no-save, blk & wht- concept art can be viewed.
~8 x 4sizes wallpapers that DL to doc file.
~9 DL music tracks
~ 8 cut scenes to replay (2 of these are more concept art sketches, —but the rest are great.)
~13 HOPs to replay with % and timer. I thought the game had more, though.
~35 collectable dolls which have a page of shelves they sit on. There doesn’t seem to be any reward for collecting them, other than an achievement.
~Achievement slider- is on the main page with 13 to earn.
~Souvenir room- You revisit 20 scenes from the game and collect 1 item. When I played it on “hard, no hints or glints” it took me 4 min 50 seconds. These items also have a “room page” where they are viewed.
~Bonus play- took me 38 min.
~There is an in-game WTG that is 38 pages total (33pgs of gameplay). Chap 1 children’s room is 7pgs, Chap 2 barn is 7pgs, Chap 3 basement is 8pgs, Chap 4 Kevin’s room is 4pgs, and Bonus Chapter is 7pgs., Gen notes & coll. is 5pg.
