This game has everything that I enjoy! Loved playing the story, saving the students, all the puzzles, the HOS's, the graphics, etc. The ONLY thing I would have changed, is to have the developers include an interactive map so I didn't have to click so many times between locations. Lots of that, but not enough of a problem to make a difference in this excellent game!
I have no clue what reviewers were looking at when they posted that the graphics were beautiful. Must have been a different game?! The first time I finished this game, I was a noob at HOS's, and found the game to be fun. Today, going back over it, I am amazed that I got all the way through it. Horrible graphics, just okay puzzles, and I'm thinking that it was put together by a group of people who said, "hey, we can make a game!" Really? Shouldn't have done it.
Although I really liked playing the game, what made me tear my hair was the loading in between scenes. Very frustrating in this day of high speed internet. I'm too used to changing scenes rapidly and this was trying to my patience. Otherwise, it was an okay little game. The HOS's were fine, and the puzzle type challenges were simple enough. Not high on my list of favorites at all, but a pleasant diversion. Don't know if I could recommend it when there are so many other excellent games.
I just finished the trial for the CE, and I have decided I will buy this one when the SE comes out. I did not use the Strategy Guide at all over the length of the trial, so I hate to pay for it when I don't need it. I do, however, intend to get this one because it was just so darned fun.
Absolutely beautiful game, and I loved the interactive map. The puzzles weren't all that difficult, but the whole game kept me interested and entertained for the two days I played this one. This was very worth the money for the SC.
Absolutely loved this game! There were times when the combination of the music and the scenery and the appearance of a ghost or two made my flesh turn cold and the goosebumps run up and down my back and arms! Great music and background, great scenes and HOS's. The only thing I would have changed is the back story of the little boy to make him more a part of the game, instead of waiting to find out a little more about him in the bonus.
I really enjoyed playing as Penny Macey, visiting different crime scenes and sites to rescue my dear dad! I liked the HOS's and the puzzles, and just found this a lot of fun. Plenty of game time, and plenty of interest.
While I agree with most of the reviews on this game, I liked it for the visual quality and the storyline. It is a good game that kept my interest for the time it took to play, and I'm not at all sorry that I purchased it. Was it the most stunning and challenging game I've ever played? No, but that doesn't mean it's not worth playing. I found it enjoyable, and that's why I keep coming back to BFG!
I recommend this game!

The Torment of Whitewall
Only one girl has survived the mysterious attacks on Whitewall, but she's not talking… So they've called you in to end the town's terrible torment!
First, there are lots of HOS's if you love those as much as I do. The characters were good, the storyline was good, and it progressed well. I liked the fact that when I was done with an area, it let me know I was finished. The negatives? A little short, the graphics were nice but some of the characters' speech made me smile. They were a little on the goofy side. Pin was sometimes a safety pin and others times a clothespin. A shawl was a handkerchief.
This probably could have been a delightful little game if the HOS's hadn't been so frustrating. I had to use the hint button continually, and tons of random clicking to hopefully hit something on the screen that was needed. So much of the hidden objects were close to invisible or so eensy weensy as to not even be recognizable. Stupid way to ruin a nice little game.
