I've played all of these travel HO games and this is the worst. Nothing about it depicts Hawaii...scenery, music, animals not native to area. We may as well have been in Topeka Kansas. Dumb storyline (thanks for the skip button) and horrible graphics. What is it with these developers and the swipe and paint?? I'm not 7 years old. The only good thing about this game were the facts, some of which I didn't know. My useful fact: I only played the demo and didn't even make it half way through.

Very long game and lacked the level of interest or fun to justify the length. OK game, there are worse out there but definitely much better games. I didn't find the graphics impressive and the storyline was too repetitive and bland. Too many puzzles for me (skip) some with poor and/or wrong instructions. Play the demo first but it's doubtful you will be clicking that buy button.

(Based on demo) Northern Tales series always provides a fun time management game. While it may not be that challenging, it is enjoyable to play. After the first several levels you do have to think a bit about building priorities and paths to take.
Each level has 3 hidden items and are not hard to find. Graphics are great and the workers comments are cute.
The game provides a lot of background on the Vikings. But I wish they would keep the info screen up a little longer at the beginning of the level. You barely have enough time to read it.
If you are a novice time management player I recommend starting with this series. If you are a seasoned player, this is still enjoyable and relaxing and worth your time.

This game series is always fun to play and I never regret purchasing them. A nice variety of different puzzles to play, especially love the bingo cards!

As far as HOPA games go lately, I really enjoyed playing this game. Good graphics, decent storyline and smooth gameplay. The game was a bit easy but I was playing the casual level, so I'm betting it's a bit more challenging on expert level.
I loved that they didn't overload the item list at the bottom...no scrolling back and forth looking for the item you need.
I didn't deduct any stars for this but I saw some errors in item names as they related to what they do. Example, a butterfly pin/brooch that you use to open a lock was called a "butterfly bandage" ???
Two things that bother me, with this game and most HOPA games, is
#1 leaving a search area open/sparkling after you have found all the items only because there is a note in there (that once you read it, you don't need it anymore) and
#2 if you miss a hidden puzzle piece, it doesn't allow you to go back at the end of the game, to find it and be able to finish the special room (which wasn't very exciting anyway). For a CE game they could add a little bit more to the bonus area. The bonus game though was equally as fun to play as the main game was.

Don't waste your time with this one. Horrible graphics, no conversation audio, numerous mistakes in the games. I'm really confused as to why this game was developed. Its an embarrassment to DO games.

I played the demo and that's as far as I will go. This game was really poorly thrown together. It could have been so much more with a little effort on the developers part. Horrible graphics. Getting that big coin is a mystery to me. Not challenging at all. There are MUCH better match 3 games of this type out there. This ball of yarn needs to be put back in the knitting box.

My review is based on playing the demo. I won't be paying money or using points for this game. It is probably a great game for a very beginner HOPA player. But I found it to be too easy and quite dull and almost childish.

I enjoyed playing this game. It's definitely an original type of Hidden Object game, old school. Some of the wording is odd, for example a coat hanger is what I call a coat rack. But not a factor in my rating. It has a simple storyline, detectives and thief scenario. More game play and very little chat which was nice. Be warned it is a very short game for a CE. My suggestion is grab it while its on sale because its definitely worth purchasing with a good sale or at most at standard price, if you like the old basic HO games.

The Christmas Wonderland series is my favorite holiday game and this years did not disappoint.
Quite a few pleasant changes this year: A hidden snowman in each scene (and he's not always easy to find!) A house scene that you decorate with purchases in the shop. You finish up with a nice holiday decorated house and yard. (finally those coins have a purpose) And lastly, some new music. Very relaxing and a pleasure to listen to while playing. With one exception....that dreadful version of Jolly Old St. Nicholas sung by that lady that can't carry a tune. (I hope she kept her day job). Casual Arts, please get rid of that song, it's like nails on a chalkboard.
Thanks for another year of Wonderland, Casual Arts. I'd give you 10 stars if I could!
