OK, I really tried to like this game. There were some great puzzles, but the childish characters seemed so out of place. And the graphic were really primitive. If you just want to play puzzles without context, this game's for you. It's just not for me.
I don't understand the low ratings for this game. I played the demo several months ago and loved it. It has a great variety of puzzles in addition to HOPs, music that isn't irritating, and great graphics. That's all I need to enjoy a game. The storyline was fine, but I don't usually buy a game to get a great story. If I want a great story I'll read a book. I had it on my list to eventually buy. What a great surprise to find it on sale today for $2.99.
This was so bizarre. Granted, I only played the demo, but I never really felt like I knew what was going on; or at least how I was supposed to accomplish tasks. I was half way thru the game when I learned I had a backpack with a knife that I needed to cut several objects. It could just be me, but I just couldn't grasp the game. Maybe if I had played longer, but I'm not going to buy a game (especially a collector's edition!) with the HOPE that it gets better. I think if they had skipped the first part of the game, the storyline could have developed much more evenly.
I really like Domini games but they seem to be hit or miss. This one is right in the middle; it has good puzzles and good graphics, but a dumb storyline. It's yet another backstage theatre murder. Can't these guys come up with something a little more original? I'll probably buy it when it's on sale but I don't think it's worth full price.
