I especially like the fantasy/romance type of games and this one was pretty good. Good vs. evil; redemption and a happy ending. Colors are good not too dark though some items are hard to find. That said, details:
1--graphics are excellent as is usual with this developer 2--map which you have to find, it transports (beam me up Scotty) 3--map indicates where you are an places you can transport to as well as completed parts 4--achievements to earn 5--collectibles, chess pieces and fortune telling cards 6--good voice overs, matching the characters very well 7--phoenix helper 8--gnome helper for part of the game 9--potions to make, one of which you only have 8 times to use 10--some puzzles are relatively easy, though they get a little harder as you go on in the game 11--HOS, lists, finder number of similar items, match shadows, some interactive 12--4 different levels of play 13--extras, match 3 game (you must find all chess pieces to play) and fortune telling game where you find 2 matching cards to get your fortune; cut scenes; screensavers, artwork; puzzles and HOS to replay.
All in all I really enjoyed this game and spent the day playing it as I wanted to see if there was a good ending.
You play the part of a healer and the King requests your help in healing his Queen whom he loves (she has never spoken). The King's mum at first seems sympathetic (is she or isn't she#; the Queen also has secrets but it is obvious that she loves her son; who as you are about to treat her is kidnapped by Dark Magic which is outlawed in their land; the Queen is accused thrown into prison and sentenced to death. Thus begins the adventure.
Pros 1--graphics are excellent, clear and very colorful, some even appear 3D 2--collectibles to find which are not all easy 3--fragments, interactive; find # of items HOS 4--puzzles seem familiar but some are difficult #I skipped a few# 5--voices are ok 6--achievements to earn 7--swallow helps you in beginning then goes back to her nest 8--jump map which indicates where you have tasks to perform #beam me up Scotty# 9--notebook listing tasks as well 10--8 chapters plus 2 chapters in bonus game 11--3 levels of play
Cons So far I haven't found any, I got to the point where the demo ended and still had 22 minutes left to play and was intrigued enough to purchase.
It appears the storyline is loosely based on the fairy tale 7 Swan Princesses #maybe that's why she cannot talk#. It appeared that as I progressed in the game the difficulty level increased and I played in Casual mode. Since there is a sale this weekend on CE's I think I'll take advantage of it.
I do prefer the fantasy type of games and I'm hoping to really enjoy this one #I also have the 1st Grim Legends). All I can suggest is that you try it and see if you are intrigued by this game as well.
Your librarian friend wants your help as a journalist – he’s found an ancient book that is still unfinished. Can you save the world in the book before their story ends?
The storyline grabbed me as I thought it was interesting; an old friend calls you from his library, something strange is going on when they received this book. You check it out and when the book asks you for help you decide to answer yes and the adventure begins. You find out there is a magical crown which a villain wants and when the hour glass finishes, the king is killed. You receive help from one of the king's subjects which happens to be a rabbit [shades of Alice in Wonderland] and a shield from the kings mother. You also find out that while in the book someone is rewriting it as you are on this adventure which changes things a bit.
Good stuff 1--graphics and voiceovers are great 2--an interactive map #beam me up Scotty# which tells you where tasks are to be done 3--lots of characters 4--various HOS, find a number of items; outlines of items and they are interactive 5--collectibles which add to the story #painting items# 6--achievements to earn 7--4 game modes from casual to custom 8--if you don't want to play the HOS you can skip to a puzzle
As I said the storyline intrigued me but I found the game to be a bit slow in the beginning; it started picking up but then the demo was over before an hour was up. Hopefully it will continue to pick up if so it has the potential to be a great game; but since it stopped before I could really get anywhere I'm giving it 4 stars.
You might find that you may not like it but give it a try, it may intrigue you as it did me #good thing there is a sale this weekend.

I have the previous game and this one picks up right after it is finished. I really liked playing the demo and was frustrated when it ended so I immediately purchased the game.
Story Your father and another member of the order are trapped after an explosion and you must go back in time in order to prevent what might be the end of the world as the artifacts which created the explosion are becoming increasingly unstable.
Good Stuff 1--Graphics are excellent and colorful as well as the cut scenes and the lip syching (sp?) is very well done 2--Sound effects are also very good 3--you have to earn your hint button and it does take a bit of time before it recharges 4--you also have to earn your map which lists areas where there are tasks to do as well as being a transporter (beam me up Scotty), this is helpful as there is a bit of going back and forth 5--along the way you collect 12 each of purple Griffiths; blue unicorns and gold dragons 6--HOS scenes range from fractured to list which some items are interactive; some of which are hard to find, you can switch to marjhong (sp?) which is a bit difficult 7--puzzles range from easy to difficult 8--a helper which is a baby Griffith (and no you do not get to name him) 9--achievements to earn 10--different modes of game play I played casual 11--8 chapters for the main game and 2 for the bonus
Not so Good 1--the instructions for the puzzles should have been a bit clearer, sometimes I had to do a bit of clicking before I got anything going and others I had to skip 2--as mentioned above some of the items in the HOS were difficult to spot so I switched to marjhong (sp?)
All in all I really enjoyed the game and played for several hours until I completed the main game.
I do recommend this game and took advantage of the sale this weekend. That said some may like it and some may not so I do recommend that you try before you buy and if it tempts you; you too should take advantage of this weekend's sale.
I have never enjoyed a game so much as this one; while I found the puzzles to be mostly easy (I usually have a problem with them) there were a couple that I did have to skip.
The storyline was to me a mixture of fairy tales with some twists thrown in and what looks to be a hint of a sequel at the end of the bonus game which contains 3 chapters. The developers really came through with this game. It took me most of the day to finish the main game as well as the bonus chapter I was sorry to see it end, though to me the bonus was not as good as the main game and loved the twist at the end of the main game.
1--graphics, sound, cut scenes, voiceovers are excellent (especially the males) bright and colorful 2--hint is directional only 3--transporter map (beam me up Scotty) also tells you where you have tasks to do 4--interactive HOS; mostly lists; you need to put together some items, find several pieces of an item; sillohouetts(sp?) in bonus game; also there are morphing items in the HOS to find (some not so easy) 5--different modes of play and you can change the difficulty mode for the puzzles 6--magic scrolls to collect 7--animal helper 8--achievements to earn 9--snowflakes to collect 35 some are not so easy to spot
I would say that this is equal to or better than the Dark Parables line of games (only not so dark).
This is a game the whole family can enjoy (even the kids). It is not really a sequel to the first Dark Strokes (which I have) but a brand new story and if they do another I hope we do not have to wait 2 years for it.
I recommend this game!

Nightmares from the Deep: Davy Jones Collector's Edition
Escape the cold incarceration of Davy Jones' brig and discover the otherworldly origins of his galleon in this thrilling Hidden Object adventure.
I have been waiting for this game since I beta tested it months ago; used 2 credits to get it as well yahoo!
I've played the previous games in this series and they all have been great.
Storyline Davy Jones kidnaps the heroine and her daughter, gets the daughter to sign a pact with him; mom tries to rescue daughter and along the way starts discovering Davy Jones' secrets.
Good stuff 1--graphics are beautiful sharp, clear and colorful 2--voiceovers are great 3--interactive map #beam me up Scotty# 4--rescue a cute puppy and every so often he appears to lead you to certain areas 5--find certain secret items which will help you 6--discover Davy Jones secret 7--other denziens #sp?# of the deep appear 8--hos clear 9--good help button
I just love these developers, they do a great game, what can I say, graphics, colors, sound are all top notch great quality. Storyline was different a combination of a couple of fairy tales with twists. A nice mature Jack with a voice that matches the character.
Good stuff 1--graphics, sound and voice over great 2--map with indications of where your tasks are 3--voices matches the characters 4--great storyline 5--HOS are put it together with some interactive 6--some of the games in here were easy some a bit more difficult 7--lots of chapters 8--stories of various fairytale characters in the game
Not so good 1--map is not a transporter (where's Scotty when you need him beam me up please) so there is a bit of going back and forth.
There is a hint of a future game, just think long golden hair and I'm wondering if some of the princes from this game are in future games????????????????????
Loved this game even though I found the Nutcracker to be better; though again I only played the demo it may get better later in the game. It does bring the feeling of Christmas to life and it does make you want to change your uncle's life.
Good stuff Hint recharges quickly also shows you where to go and takes you there (casual White Christmas mode# 4 different difficulty modes interactive map #beam me up Scotty) achievements morphing penguins to collect graphics are beautiful great voiceovers HOS are clear and some items are interactive fun puzzles and a bit different background music is not annoying and puts you in holiday mood
Bad things nothing that shows up in demo
Made by the same people who did last year's Nutcracker which I absolutely loved and if you don't already own it you should get it, especially with this sale. Ok so it not totally Victorian England, it's a game duh!
I will definitely be getting this game as I can't wait to see what they do with the rest of the story.
I recommend this game!

Secret Trails: Frozen Heart Collector's Edition
Your surprise visit is ruined by a blizzard. Who caused it, and what does he want with your little sister?
The developers did make changes after I had tested it originally it was an aunt who was coming to visit and needed to rescue the girl. I just loved the graphics in it and the story didn't appear to be too depressing (I couldn't wait for it to be available for everyone# so this is a buy for me.
It has achievements beautiful graphics in casual great hint system challenging mini games HOS not too overcrowded and item not too small butterflies to find which adds to hint system
Unfortunately no transporter map and there is some going back and forth to find various items and use them.
The dialogue could be better but if that's it's only flaw it's not too bad. I would actually put the storyline #dialogue) at a 4.5.
Story, you are called to investigate a murder of a sculptor and his wife; by their doctor; when you show up you find him dead in the same method as the sculptor/wife. The only reason I'm purchasing this game are the graphics are great and lovely to look at; the sale this weekend and to find out whodunit. I played casual mode.
Good Stuff 1-graphics music are great 2-transporter map (beam me up Scotty# 3-achievements 4-morphing objects difficult to see 5-collectibles #used to purchase sculpture?) 6-notebook 7-lists and indications on map of where tasks are to be done
Mediocre stuff 1-HOS visited twice outlines, interactive unlike another reviewer, I found the items easy to find and not too small 2-so far the puzzles are quite easy, hopefully they will get harder as the game progresses
Really!!!!!!!!!!!! 1-parts of the storyline, you find doctor dead but have to feed the cat; get a playmate for gopher to get a necklace before chasing the suspect
After playing Nevertales Beauty Within we've been spoiled; although the graphics, voiceovers and music in this game are excellent and the only reason I'm getting this game are listed above. This would be a good game for beginners who have NEVER played a game of this type before. I would give this game a 3.5 rating for graphics alone.
Again, I would suggest that you try the demo as everyone's taste is different and you might really like the game; and since there is a sale this weekend you can take advantage of it.
