There was a nasty little man. And he's baaaacccckkkk! In the demo he demonstrated one new talent. After he blows out a wall, he fixes it. The different types of HOS kept my interest. The graphics and sound were good. Though turning down the music in options doesn't seem to turn down some of the music in the game. And it is not necessarily 'an hour' demo. Only 45 minutes for me. Don't tell me I have an hour then make it a 'play to this point' demo. When I want the game I try to stop a little before the hour so that after I buy and install I don't find myself backed up and having to replay some scenes. Other than that it's a groovy game.
I recommend this game!

Dark Dimensions: City of Ash Collector's Edition
A dark dimension has fallen over Phoenix Hill, turning its residents into volcanic ash. Help them rise from the ashes.
The sound and graphics/video are very good. The hints are helpful. The SG is understandable. After playing 50 minutes I decided this is MINE! So, I'm writing this as it downloads. It's a mystery. At this stage more questions than answers. A map you can jump from place to place (after you've been to the places first). Father and daughter angst just before Father's Day. Nice touch.
Everything works. The journal, map, hints, SG, timer (drat!). The story is a little different. I think. Lets see: Evil Trees: seen that before, Hubby in trouble: seen that before, magic amulet: seen that before. Well, I guess I've seen all the bits, but, how the bits come together is new, different, and fun. So, before I jump back into my hamster wheel, I'll just say: I LOVE THIS GAME!
All in all it's a good game. Just a couple irritants. To get to the SG you have to click on menu, then click on SG. Why? It's like taking something we use a lot and putting it on the top shelf behind everything. :( To get important items you must collect coins. Not as easy as it sounds. And it's RAINING, as usual. With 2 levels: normal & casual, a map you can move with, a decent notebook, and good clues, it's a Keeper. Graphics fine, sound fine. Wish I could have gotten to the options before the game started though.
I almost forgot I wanted to get out of the game so I could write this. By every quality, every aspect (except one minor one) this game is EXCELLENT!! That one little thing is that when you log out of the game, your place in the SG is not saved, so remember the page number. At this point the villain seems to be obvious. But, you never know. The cut scenes are movie quality, The HOs are clear. The sound is very very good. Oh, one thing. It's raining A LOT. Hear me game builders, you don't HAVE to use rain to make a scene spooky. All it does is make it WET. ;P
Finally a developer has found a use for all that rain that's in this type of game. (besides making us miserable) That is the best that can be said about this demo. If I hadn't read the reviews I never would have found the dall. Doesn't anyone check translations or spellcheck these things? In a HOG the hidden things MUST be named correctly & spelled correctly. Otherwise they are not worth paying money for. I'm despairing of having more well written, spelled, thought out games. This isn't one of them. I got it with a free game coupon.
I gave up with 38 min of the demo left. Uninstalled it immediately. The graphics reminded me of a 'story board'. The 'cartoons' of a story to give the idea of where the story is going. But, this is the real game. Not a tool only the developers are meant to see. It is 'clicky'. You must click on a check mark to move on from a task. It is frustrating. If you must demo it. Otherwise, don't even bother, just ignore it.
Vampire Legends: The True Story of Kisilova Collector’s Edition is an incredible adventure based on the true story of the first documented case of vampirism ever!
Not exactly a totally original storyline. But, with this game it doesn't have to be. The SG is helpful, the hints are also. The HOSs are challenging, but, doable. The puzzles are varied and fun. I've only done the demo, will be buying the full game. Up to now everything has worked perfectly.
I've finished the whole game. Could have been longer. Hints could have been a tad more helpful. I really hate "nothing to do here right now" hints. I got this with a free game coupon. Don't think I would have gotten it if I'd had to use a game credit or money. HOS were clear, interesting with few 'impossible' finds. Impossible finds are things that are 99.99% hidden so you must use a hint to find them. I don't cheat and hate when game developers do. This is a solid little game, coulda been a contenda tho!
Constant joy isn't much fun to play. You need bad guys to fight and destroy. This Puppetshow has them. I saw one small error in the opening video. The Master was paging through a book backwards. Back to front. OK, I know, if that's the only error than this will be a 'perfect' game. I sure hope not. I'm looking forward to the next one and the one after that. So, I'm going back to Joyville and try to figure out what is going on. See ya in a few days...... Oh, SG is good, so are the hints. A tiny bit more instruction for some mini games would be nice, but, the SG is the place to look.
