I really can't put my finger on why I disliked this game so much but I think it was a combination of things. There are no sounds except a very low background music that is so laid back it detracts from the feeling on the game. There is no map which in this case is a definite draw back. But most of the time I just didn't have a clue what to do and considering I have now played well over 500 of these types of games, I found it to be very frustrating. In fact, I didn't finish it which is the first time ever! Maybe it got better but I think I was about half way through, so I can't see it would have improved much in my eyes. As my title suggests though, the rest of the reviews are glowing, so I guess it's just me.

I thought this was a great game to play except that they never put in a map which does annoy me but is not the end of the world. However, yet again they just ended the game. No voice over, no explanation of what happened, just the credits. It really made me feel flat at the end and almost detracted from the enjoyment I had playing it. Surely it doesn't take make to just tidy up loose ends with a brief voice over?
Having said that I do still recommend this game and all the Haunted Legends series for the fun factor.

I think it wasn't until I nearly got to the end that I realised how much I was enjoying this game. It was fairly predictable and not overly taxing but that didn't take the enjoyment away. The map was good and I truly wish all games would have this kind of help.
I'm never much of one for the stroylines to be honest, I play the games for the puzzles etc but this one was really good and it finished well, not suddenly as some of them do.
I'm not going to go into huge amounts of detail about the game because quite frankly, you should be playing it and finding out for yourself :)

These games are simplistic and easy to do. But they are a good way to pass a couple of hours. There is little effort or thought involved when playing these and for me, that can be a good thing. I always have a couple of games on the go and if one is especially taxing, then I like to have a game like this to play. I don't want to put the reader off. The storyline is lovely and the graphics are great but it is predictable. You always instinctively know what to do next but as I said earlier, not necessarily a bad thing. I would recommend this game but not if you want to stretch your mind.
I have enjoyed all the Haunted Legend series but this did lack just that little something that would have made it great. For starters I found that I had to refer to the walk through considerably more times than I have on any other game. As there is no hint button other than during the HO scenes, this can be a little bit of a pain. Also there is no map, although again, not the end of the world but it would have been helpful. As I say, just little things that would have helped with the enjoyment. Overall though worth playing and a good, if not difficult in places, level of enjoyment.
I recommend this game!

I recently got this as a filler when trying to meet my bonus allocation. But was very pleased I did. The HO scenes are good, not too dark and not tiny objects. The puzzles are a good balance of easy to hard. The storyline is very good. I was only stumped once and the hint button helps you out. I have played nearly 500 games now and this one rates near the top.

Superb so far! I bought it as part of the special weekend and am throughly pleased so far. Excellent storyline, decent graphics. Mid range puzzles but I have only played it for about an hour so far.
If you are reading this on 10th or 11th November, I recommend you get this game today!!
This was superb. Tough in places. Definately challenging and a great story line. Even the ending was ok which makes a change for most games these days!
I admit to skipping a couple of mini games as the instructions were a little unclear or not explained fully but that's probably more my problem than the games.
My only critism was the map was pants! Not easy to read and no hints as to where to go. Maybe a little glowing bit where there is something to do etc?
But I do hope this isn't the end for Princess Sophia and I whole heartedly recommend this game.
I have enjoyed the previous games. I can't say they blew me away but they were good. However this one (although the latest in the series) felt like I was going back in time and not just because of the storyline! The puzzles were mediocre, the graphics were mediocre and the storyline was just, well, you've guessed it - mediocre. The only thing that wasn't, was the ending and that was just pants!
If you liked the others I wouldn't recommend this one without trying the free download first.
Challenge yourself in the role of the scientist-historian-scholar of ancient civilizations and mystical legends and save your friend from the Demon of Darkness!
I bought this when Big Fish had a sale on for Orneon Games and I finished it by the end of that day - I just couldn't stop playing it. I normally have 2 or 3 on the go at any one time so I don't get bored, but I sat there for 3 hours solid playing this. It has a good mixture of easy , medium and difficult puzzles. The HO scenes are good and I only needed a hint twice in the whole game but that was because I was so anxious to get onto the next bit ( I can be a bit impatient!).
The graphics were good, the quality was superb, the story line actually interesting for once! I thoroughly recommend this game to all users, whether you be expereinced or new to all of this.
