This game had me intrigued from the start. It didn't really give alot of instructions which at first was a little annoying but I came to see that as the challenge and enjoyed it even more. It seems to incroporate all the aspects of HO games that make them enjoyable and it certainly taxes the brain. What I loved most (and this is silly really), but it wrapped it all up nicely at the end and completed the story!! It didn't just end in mid air like most of them do.
I recommend this game!

I did enjoy the game but the enjoyment was less because the game was sooooo slow to play. You may think it's my PC or something but I play 2 or 3 games at any one time and all the others were playing fine. This one took ages to react to anything and that was so frustrating.
However the game play, storyline and different hidden object scenes were good and provisding you're not as impatient as me, I'm sure you will enjoy it!!
I have just started re-visiting all my games and playing them again. It is surprising how many that I thought were great at the time, seem so dated now (only 3 years on). But this one has retained it's playability (if that is such a word!). I thoroughly enjoyed playing it again and will do so again sometime. For once there is a storyline and an ending. The HOS are basic but good. The puzzles again are basic but a good level of challenge. It's not as technically brilliant as some of the current games but it does what it says on the tin!
I was nearly put off by the * rating but it was better than I had expected. I think the thing that lets it down is the fact I completed it within 2.5 hours! It was simple and came to an abrupt ending. Also worth mentioning that I did play it on the harder level as previous reviews had mentioned it was a little easy. So if you are seasoned HOP gamer then you may find it a little easy but if not, I think you will enjoy it. There is no useable Map but then again you don't really need one.
I bought this game based on the fact it had a 4.75 rating but was quite disappointed. it is very easy with little storyline and no ending whatsoever! Ok, I admit I was lazy and played it on the casual setting but even so, I completed it in 2.5 hours!
The Hibben object scenes vary but take seconds to complete. Sorry, but seriously under challenged!

I got this game based on the fact that it has such a high rating. I won't disagree with that rating although I did find the game a tad easy but I wasn't playing on the top difficulty.
However the story line is excellent and not to say too much but the clown really freaked me out!! Reminded me of the film IT by Stephen King!
Seemed ages before we got the first HOG but there were enough of them for me and the puzzles were all easy enough to complete. Well worth a look.
I know I must be unique judging by all the other reviews but I really disliked this game. I found it disjointed and boring. In fact I can't think of anything to recommend it and that is the first time ever, in all the reviews I have done, where I honestly can't think of anything positive to say.... no wait... it had a good map!!!
The thing is, we must all make up our own minds on these games so please, if you fancy it, try it but don't come running to me if you don't like it :)

I am in the sad position of not being able to afford a new game for the time being, so I decided to replay some of the old favourites.
This game is 2 years old (I think) and still retains charm, beauty and a very good challenge. it is still up there with the new games being produced today and long may the Dark Parable series continue.
The HO scenes are different and challenging but not so hard as you give up. I love the morphing objects and have only managed to find 10 out for 20!! The music is ideal for christmas and gave me a warm glow :)
If you haven't played this, I recommend you do so immediately if not sooner!
I have just re-played this game and after several years I think it still holds appeal. It is purely a hidden object game and it is very dark and atmospheric.
I guess to only criticism would be that it just ends. After such suspense, there is nothing! Shame there was no follow up game to carry it on. But you can't have everything and I did find myself loading this game when I had 2 new ones waiting to be played.
An excellent game - Superb Map that allows you to jump to where you need to be however that can make you a little lazy in working out what you need to do! Decent level of puzzles although could be a little more taxing I think.
Why is it though, you are enjoying a game and you get towards the end and suddenly, that's it, game over. No exposition, no warning, just credits. This is probably the only reason I haven't given it a 5*.
