Wow, what a nice SE! It has been a very long time since we have seen one like this. Excellent graphics and game play, very nice voice-overs, excellent hint system, nice HOGs (although not a lot), games not difficult but some take a bit of time.
Wasn't sure what was happening with the map. It was a bit confusing to me...maybe it's just me. Music was nice as well. A little different story line for a change. Everything flowed very well.
I have the other two Twisted Lands and really enjoyed them. I got right to the end of the 2nd chapter before my demo ran out and man, was I disappointed. This is well worth the price of an SE. Most definitely a buy for me.
Well, not a bad game, but not great either. I am really put off by devs who don't let you know how many chapters are in a game. That is a deal breaker for me, so until I find out how long the game is, I won't purchase. Other than that...
Nice graphics and game play. Desperately needs voice-overs to give it a lift. Wording needs to stay up until you click to get rid of it (if you get distracted, you won't see what it says because it disappears after a short time). Also needs a diary and a "jumping" map. Too much running back and forth for long distances. The owl was everywhere but you never see it and the sound gets very annoying very quickly...why would he be in the classroom or kitchen? Occasional owl sounds are nice, but not every 5 seconds.
HOGs not bad, not difficult but do need to "look" for things. Not a lot of HOGs during the demo. Games not difficult, but need to think about a few to solve.
SG nice, but needs to follow through (with no map, it would be nice to know how many times you need to go back to get where you need to go...not just go to the Gazebo), hint system nice.
As I said, don't know if I want to purchase this as a CE or wait for the SE. I need to see the length first, so will put it in my pond and wait a bit. Thanks for the reviews.
Wow! Was hoping for a nice SE for a change, but was very disappointed. Don't care for the characters popping in and out, very distracting. Really don't care for the scrolling screen. Haven't figured out what the siren has to do with anything, but starts screaming now and then. Very simple game. Prefer a list of items to find and not a couple at a time. Very old school game play.
Sorry, but I just can't find anything to praise this game for. Might be nice for a beginner, but not for long. Definitely a no buy for me.
Headed to the beach tomorrow for vacation, so hopefully some good games come along while we are gone this week. Thanks for the reviews.
As usual, no problem with wide screen. Why do these devs want to combine real people with cartoons? Do one or the other, but not both! Really takes away from the whole graphic concept. Didn't care for that at all. Also didn't care for the need to find another item when you didn't even know you needed to find something. You waste a lot of time clicking aroudn trying to see if you need anything more in the scene. Someone really has a syringe fixation. Every HOG you need to find something to do with a syringe.
Otherwise, graphics aren't bad. Hint system not bad. Nice sound effects, game play good. Just didn't get into this one either. Started out good, but constantly clicking to find "something" else took away the fun. I like the games that actually tell you to find another item in the HOG. Couple of fixes and this would be a very nice SE.
Have to put this one in my puddle for awhile. Not sure I want it right now, but will hold on to it anyway.
Hmmm, not a bad game for a first time dev. Nice SG, clear graphics (although graphics are a bit old school), easy HOGs (a few items are extremely small), very simple games so far, very nice voice-overs.
Did not have a problem with the hint system giving me a hint when I asked for it. Maybe I was just lucky I still had something to do in the scene. Loved the old cars, but I'm an old lady and it took me back in time a bit (okay, not that old!).
Still had 21 minutes left on the demo when it ended, so don't know how long the game really is. I prefer seeing all the chapters in the demo, even if I can't open them. I also prefer a full hour demo. This one didn't give you much time to get into the game. For that reason, I'm thinking it must be fairly short.
The game just didn't pull me in from the beginning, but maybe it picks up later. Think I will put this one in my puddle and think on it until I find out the length and whether or not they fix the problems others have had.
I have a lot of this dev's games and have thoroughly enjoyed them. I'm not too sure about this one. If ever a game needed voice-overs, this is it. The lack of sound makes it a bit boring. Nothing new with the story line either.
HOGs not too bad, graphics not too bad, music okay, game play nice. I expected much more from this dev, so was disappointed based on others games I have from them.
Did not care for the "hint" system. As I have said before, when I want a hint, don't tell me there is nothing more to do here...give me an actual hint as to where to go or what to do next.
I just wasn't kicked out about this game. It didn't keep my attention at all. I'm sure it is a great game for a beginner or someone who just wants to play "something." That is the only reason I am recommending this games. Personally, it wasn't for me. Too bad, I was hoping.
Wow, haven't seen one like this in quite some time. Very grainy graphics, people look like cut-outs that have been pasted on a scene, music annoying. HOGs are junk piles and simple, games extremely easy.
I'm sure a small child would like this game as a beginner, but my 8 year old grandson didn't care for it at all. He thought it was too easy. He has been doing HOGs since he was very small. They are one of those "me and grandma" things we do.
I personally did not care for this game at all, and therefore will not purchase it because of it's simplicity. I usually will recommend a game, even if I don't care for it, because others might, but not this one. Too bad, would like to have used the special going on this weekend.
Nice game. No problem filling my 20" screen. I have the first two Redemption games and really liked them. I always play my demos in the easy mode to get a feel for the game play. This one is a bit different, with a new story (finally!). Excellent graphics and game play. I do like the interactive HOGs, but need to mix it up a bit with something other than just silhouettes. Games are extremely easy (very surprised at that). When I can get through a slider game in one minute, it is way too easy (and I really don't like those games). Voice overs are nice, clothing appropriate to setting and time frame. Raven's help was kind of fun.
Not too sure about the hint system. The one time I used it, it told me there were other things to do in the scene, but the SG told me otherwise. SG nice, but the background color was not. It blended in too much with the print and made it difficult to clearly see. I would like to see the total number of chapters before I decide to purchase. I got into Chapter 3 when my time ran out, so wondering how short this game may be. Okay, just read a review and see that there are 10 chapters (53 pages) and bonus chapter (16) pages. Nice long game...a buy for me.
I haven't seen a game this boring and old school in quite a long time. If you see something you think you are going to need and click on it, it tells you that you don't need that yet. Why not get it now and figure out how to use it later?
Graphics a bit grainy, HOGs okay, music gets annoying fast, game play okay but don't much care for the scrolling (extremely slow moving). Probably okay for a beginner, but not for me. I couldn't even get through the demo and that is really bad for me. I at least try to give it a shot, but not this one.
Travel from the deepest trenches of the Atlantic Ocean to the awe-inspiring wonders of Mars as you solve the greatest archeological puzzle known to man: the origin of Atlantis.
Oh no it didn't...my hour is up already! What an amazing game. I have other games from this dev and have not been disappointed. This one certainly does not disappoint either. The game took me in from the beginning.
Wonderful graphics. Very different, very good story line, nice fun HOGs. Games not difficult. Love the voices. Excellent game play. Looks like a nice long game and definitely worth the price of the CE.
Thanks devs for the map (love the ability to jump from one place to another and save shoe leather), listing all the chapters in the demo, excellent SG and hint system.
I am off to purchase this one and see what happens. Thanks for the reviews.
