Played in casual mode. A good story, travel back and forth in time and help break the curse of the Cyprus Witch. The narration was very good, a lovely speaking voice without any over dramatising. I found the graphics clear cut and the whole game was colourful, not a gloomy atmosphere anywhere, even the moonlight was at full moon and well lit. I found the puzzles varied and in some cases challenging, I would have appreciated a walkthrough to show me the solution, but it still didn't spoil the game. The hint button steered me in the right direction when I was unsure, that's always a great help. The game may have seemed short, but it was the best time I've spent in ages, and it may just have been because I didn't want it to end.
Over and over the same nightmare is following you: your sister Anna is trapped in a strange existence, begging you to help her escape. But what if these are not just random nightmares?
Played in casual mode and didn't want to stop! So much better than most adventure games, only short back tracks and helpful hint to point you in right direction. Got stuck in a couple of places, but after having read tips in the forum I realised I could have figured it out for myself if I'd had more patience! HO scenes were a bit difficult to discern, but fast filling hints were a help there, and there weren't many of them. I enjoyed the interactive sillhouette areas too. Puzzles were a delight, puzzles are there to puzzle you, not to romp through, so they suited me too. The joy of no rain and thunderstorms!! when it's wet outside, who wants rain inside? All in all, a very replayable game and well worth the price. Hats off to the developers, hope to have more from them.
I have become so bored with the same bland scenery all the time, same translation puzzles over and over. Sorry I bought this, have deleted before finishing.
I have so enjoyed this game, story makes sense and not a lot of back-tracking, helpful hint to push me in the right direction, interactive map, soothing music, good balance between action, puzzles and HO scenes. The HO scenes have a "time spot" which gives you access to the same scene but with different objects to find, a new feature which I enjoyed. The art work on the characters was superb, they were so lifelike, and the voice-overs were so very well done, so watch out actors, you may become just voice-overs for super-fantastic artwork. Nothing to dislike in this game, a very good length with added play bonus of extended play, word association game, and HO scenes. For once, this was a CE well worth the extra money.
When your daughter, Emily, is taken over by a mysterious force, you must travel to the Nightmare Realm to search for a cure. But nothing could have prepared you for what you find there…
A lovely game, I loved the mini games reminiscent of the door puzzles in Return to Ravenhearst i.e. work out what to press, fiddle with, to get results, I enjoyed this challenge. I also enjoyed the break from dark and sombre, which was achieved by entering pictures to new bright worlds. The HO scenes were enjoyable too, every item depended on doing something first e.g. putting sunglasses on dino so he couldn't see you take something. Graphics, story, music all of good quality. An all round excellent re-playable game.
Loved the game. Helpful fast loading hints that point you in the right direction. Map to fast track you to areas, journal to keep up with the story, and Objectives to keep you on track. This game has it all, and has the most beautiful music I have heard in a game, so lovely that I often didn't finish HO scenes straight away, just so that I could listen. Well done developers, you have surpassed yourselves, I will eagerly await your next game.
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
I did so try to enjoy this game, but it is soooo boring!!! The ONLY saving grace is the innovative moving block puzzle. The lack of even half decent music replaced by a repetitive noise, the "over the top" ham acting by Cassandra, the grainy graphics, poor hint system are just a few of the disappointments in this game. I know you performed a wonderful feat with the production of Return to Ravenhearst which was a giant leap forward and a hard act to follow, but your games have gone steadily downhill since, whereas other developers have strived to achieve the same benchmark you set, and have been providing us with games that are very nearly on a par with RTR. You have an advantage over other developers, in that you can draw up your own list of what players enjoy by following the opinions on all the games from your site, you don't even have to send out a questionnaire !! A big thumbs down I'm afraid.
Such a shame, OK story, good graphics and voice acting, but the puzzles are boringly simple, no challenge at all. So sorry that these game developers haven't progressed over the years. I'll wait for the standard edition and coupon, not worth wasting my money on this one.
I really loved this game. Played in casual mode for first time (can hardly wait to play again!). Music is delightful and varied. The whole game seems to be contained into various areas so that everything to be done is within a non-boring range, then the break-through to a new area, so no hefty back tracking. I was hooked from the first H.O scene where a found item often has to be used on another item to find 2 on the list, and joy of joy, no coffee grinders or scollop shells (and I thought pearls were in oysters anyway!!!). The bonus game was worth the extra too. Well done developers, a real winner here, and can hardly wait for a sequel :)
Played in casual mode which I always do first time. Just enough HO scenes and puzzles beautifully mixed so as not to hang too long. Music good, voice acting good. No map but not needed as hint system pointed in right direction if I got stumped as to where to go. Inovative concept near end with different challenges, interactive HO etc. A new developer for me, and they've really hit the mark with this game. I'm still hoping BigFish will add developers name to game description. Good value for money and very replayable.
