You have to free people from spells and help free the princess. I played in expert mode. - The graphics are very clear. - There are not really HOS, but objects scattered in a location as well as some fragmented objects. They are easy to find. You can also see when you have to go to another location. - The puzzles are also very easy. - The journal is essential since it shows you the various locations. Clicking on the graphic brings you to that location. - There is an interactive map. - You must also find 65 maple leaves. All in all, it's a very easy, entertaining game, good for beginners or for those who need a break from dark, creepy games. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to finish.
The storyline is interesting, you have to find somebody in some strange locations.. I played in advanced mode. - The overall color is grey... Sometimes dark grey but you have a flashlight, so things are easy to find with it. - The objects in the HOS are easy to find. - The puzzles are easy, there are not many of them. - There is a journal with a task list, and with the clues you found so far. - There is no map, but there are not many locations so no risk of getting lost. - The hint system is good, since it shows you the direction if you don't know what to do next. - There are not many dialogs; the story develops as you find pages of the journal. I played at a slow pace and it took me about 3 hours to finish. I would have been happy to have a bit more colors but all in all, it's an interesting game.
The storyline is interesting, you have to search for somebody on a strange island. It's more an adventure game than a HOG. There is only one game mode. - The graphics are clear, the objects in the HOS easy to find. - The puzzles are really interesting, some easy, others more challenging. And there are many of them! - There is a journal with the clues you find, and where you can also see your objectives. This is helpful, because the hint system is of no use apart from the HOS. - There is no map, but not too many locations, so you won't get lost. - There are not too many dialogs, which I prefer. The game length is good, about 3 hours. All in all, a different kind of game and I recommend the sequel "The unchartered islands", which is even more challenging.
I really liked this one! It's a nice story, the poor, the princess and the dragon! I played in Expert mode. - The graphics are clear. The objects in the HOS are easy to find. In this mode, the HOS are also shown with sparkles, but otherwise you will have to look around to find the objects you need. - The puzzles are fun and quite easy. Most of them are not the ones you usually get. - There is no map, but not too many locations so you won't get lost. - There is no journal but you don't really need one. - There are not too many dialogs and they are quite funny! It took me about 2 1/2 hours at a slow pace to finish, but even if it seems short, I spent a good time playing this game!
Rescue a young girl from the Penumbra Motel. Solve puzzles, unravel a long standing mystery of death and disappearances in this heart-pounding adventure game!
This is not a HOG but pure adventure. I played in Hard mode. The storyline is very interesting, with ghosts and puppets. - The graphics are crisp and couldn't be better! - The puzzles are not the ones you usely get. Most of them are quite challenging. I was sometimes happy to sneek into the walkthrough... - There are many locations, a lot of going back and forth and no map, so I got lost a number of times. - The journal is clear and contains the clues you found for the puzzles. - The hint system is like "there is nothing to do here". This is one of the best games I played, challenging, long - it took me nearly 5 hours to finish - and with a great storyline. It reminds me a lot of the MCF adventures. Thanks ERS for another wonderful game!
It's really a cute game. You have to help gnomes and make 14 potions. You have to look for ingredients in various locations and then make the potion in the right order. It's a relaxing game, not very long. It took me 2 hours at a slow pace. I recommend this game for kids, beginners and for those who need a break from more stressful games.
A new breed of virus has spread throughout the City of Oxford. You must search the city for a missing girl who holds the key to stopping the global epidemic!
The storyline is interesting: virus spreading, girl to save... I played in advanced mode. - The graphics are a bit grainy, the objects from the HOS are sometimes hard to find. - The HOS are very interactive, which I liked. - There are not that many puzzles; they are quite easy. - There is a journal, more a summary of the story than a help for the tasks. - There is a map that I didn't like because it's quite minimalistic, with dotted lines, squares for the locations, just not the kind of map I would like... Actually you can play without using it... - The hint system is good: it shows you the direction of the next task. - The dialogs are sometimes long, with voice-over. The game is pretty short: it took me 2 hours to finish. In view of the ending, there will be a sequel. All in all, an interesting game but I expected a lot more.
The story reminds me a bit of bluebeard, but with a twist. I played in challenge mode, so hints take longer to charge. - The graphics are a bit grainy and some of the objects in the HOS are quite hard to find. That disturbed me the most in the game. - The puzzles are quite easy. - There is no journal, just a task list. You can have either the whole task list or only the tasks for the location where you are. - There is no map, and it's sometimes difficult to remember where you have to go. - There are not too many dialogs, which is good. The game length is good; it took me 3 1/2 hours to finish. All in all, if you don't mind the graphics, a game with many things to do!
I liked the storyline. I played in advance mode. - The graphics are clear. - The FROS are not that easy; sometimes the objects are hard to find, but I love FROS! - The puzzles are from easy to quite challenging, still unique! - The dialogs are sometimes a bit long. I actually like it when you can click to continue. - There is a map and you will need it! There are many locations and a lot of walking! You see also the objectives and a hint if you wish one. - There is no journal but as I said before the task part of the map is all you'll need. - There are 20 morphing objects to find, but they are hard to see and I gave up after 13. - The strategy guide is very useful; sometimes it's really difficult to know what to do next... It took me 3 hours to finish the main part. The bonus chapter is less challenging and it took me 30 minutes to complete it. There is a notice about the 3rd part of "Dark parables". All in all, a really good FROG!
The storyline is really interesting, and the way you travel between locations a good idea! I played in advance mode, so hints and skip are recharging slowly. - The graphics are crisp, the objects in the HOS are easy to find. - The puzzles are quite easy, but most of them are not the ones you usually get. - The hint system is like "there is nothing to do here". - There is a journal but no map. There are not that many locations that you would get lost, although there is a lot of walking back and forth. I needed 2 1/2 hours to finish but I didn't feel that it was too short.
