I loved this game. The atmosphere of the game is dark and scary, just the way it should be with a succubus on the loose. The items to locate are fairly easy to find. The map is extremely easy to use and transports to where you want to go. The hint button fills fairly quickly and only used it to see what it would do. Got so involved in the game though didn't check how it worked outside hos. The strategy guide was well done. Extra great fun finding morphing objects in each scene. The hos are interactive but not difficult to figure out. The mini games I came across were fairly easy, but and fit with the game. It was a great game and will purchase after my review.
I recommend this game!

I was unsure whether to try this game or not, but so glad I did. The storyline immediately captured my attention and the glimpse that we had of the game board in the intro reminded me of Jumanjii. The hos scenes were a little bit difficult because some of the items were hard to find because of the the color matching what it was up against. The music was decent and the voice over was well done. It was a little jumpy and didn't flow as smoothly as most of the other games I've played but it was enjoyable and will be purchasing shortly.
I recommend this game!

When hearing the word "chimera", I think of a creature that is part one fantasy animal and part another, but didn't see any up to the part of the game I completed. Yet the fantasy creatures were beautifully done with the characteristics expected. Visually the art work was stunning and crisp and clear, and the cut scenes were very well done. The music was loud until I turned it down and it was more tolerable at a much lower level. The hos were actually quite easy, with the items large and visible. The mini games were also fun, yet also on the easy side. The strategy guide was informative and the map quite nice. The "lost pets" were cute and Terrance the phoenix was adorable. The cursed cards were also quite interesting and helped the story along as you collected them. Each "evil" creature matched the personality of the "character" they were attacking. The storyline was well done and thoroughly enjoyed this demo. Will probably purchase today as I can also get free punch. It is pure fantasy/fairytale and it may not be for everyone, but I recommend this game.

The storyline continues with Fiona in your care and having to do battle with the Shade again and his flunky the Crow. The storyline was gripping and captured my attention from the very first. I played on casual, but there are three levels of play. There are achievements, collecting the fairies, and a strategy guide that follows you as you move forward into the story. The artwork was beautiful and so appropriate for the storyline. The hos were not difficult and the minigames were fun. I played the demo and got to chapter 2, taking my time and absorbing the atmosphere and challenges that awaited me. The music was appropriate and flowed with whatever was going on. I didn't need the hint button, so have no idea how it fast it fills or how helpful it is for directions. Also, did not use the map so I could get a better feel of the territory that I had uncovered. I'm not sure about the rating "not for under 14" because I didn't reach a part that would have been inappropriate. It does have creepy, but not overly scary to chapter 2. The hour passed so quickly and am going to purchase as soon as I finish my review. This game was a total and completely perfect CE.
I recommend this game!

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It was different and since I love going to the library, this was a great acknowledgement of that institution. The hos were fun and different and on casual (which) I normally do first, they give you the hints that something needs to go somewhere. I checked out the strategy guide when I had to solve the puzzle of the puppet master and puppet. It was informative, and seemed well done. I liked the entrances into the book, some usage between "time periods". Missed having achievements, but the interactive map was well done and very useful. All in all this was a great game and will be getting it as soon as I can.
I recommend this game!

Spririts of Mystery: The Dark Minotaur Collector's Edition is an excellent next step in this series. The art was beautifully done and the music fit the story as it proceeded. The magical animals that were stolen from the menagerie were cute and as the story progressed you remet Isa and his panther and Nanny. It doesn't show Thyrian at all, but as the animals are "yours" it makes senses the "you" have to find them. The puzzles were fairly simple and the items in the hos were fairly easy to find. As I am in the middle of moving, I could easily go back and not lose track were I was. Overall, it was a good game to play (used it as a reward for completing so much and with time limit to play) and I found it relaxing and enjoyable. Back to packing.
I recommend this game!

Does she have something to do with Tommy's death? Where did she get the mask that she gave to Tommy on his birthday? Who is the man in the mask? Will they get married? All of these questions are urging me to buy this immediately after I finish this review. The graphics are well done and crisp. The hint button recharges quickly and can be used for directional help. The map has to be found but is very useful in telling you where you have things to do. The hos are appropriate for the time period and a little junky but had no problems finding the objects. The mini games were relatively simple and fit into the scenes unobtrusively. The storyline was gripping and dragged me into it almost immediately. The music was appropriate and I did not find it annoying as I do other sound tracks. The found objects (which you may receive more than one# were immediately obvious to where you were supposed to put them. It was just right in difficulty #enough not to get bored). I thoroughly enjoyed this game and am going to take advantage of the Christmas sale to purchase it.

The storyline of Ward reanimating his deceased relative and the relative becoming a reverant was well done. There was a lot of running around back and forth, but it was in a limited area. I actually completed the demo, which is rare for me as I take my time and found myself surprised when it was over. The characters were cartoonish, but well done and the scenery was also well done. There were three levels and as usual I played on the casual. The strategy guide was very straight forward, but actually had you doing a lot more running around than I actually did. The music was appropriate and did not interfere nor annoy but did fit the scenes it was playing in. I enjoyed this game, without the bells and whistles that are in a lot of the CEs. The hos scenes were a little junky, but I didn't have to use the hint button at all. Didn't quite get the journal entries, which gave you hits of where you were to find the next thing to gain your objective and kind of surprised and threw me off, All in all an enjoyable 50 minutes was spent.
I recommend this game!

I read some of the reviews before I down loaded the demo. I agree that there are no bells and whistles on this game, no achievements, no morphing or hidden items to find, and no map, but I found this game enjoyable. The storyline of the evil puppeteer is being used again, but with enough twist so that it is not the same as others. I also liked the fact that the "Grimm Brothers" were involved. There were a number of good things about this game that made up for the lack of "sophistication" that is now expected of Gogii and the other collector's editions. The hint button filled quickly and can be used for where to go if you get lost. There are two levels, casual and advanced. Since I played casual, there were sparkles for what to do and where to go. The strategy guide was fairly well done, but not as complex or complete as some of the others I have encountered. The art was beautiful, but a little dark as it should be since this is happening at night and the town has been enshrouded with magic. The hos were not overly junked up, and some of the items were on the small side, but did not need to use the hint button (used it intentionally to find out how fast it filled), The mini games were not difficult, even simplistic, but they may get harder as the game progresses. The music was not annoying and just kind of drifted in the background and did not notice it even though it was playing. The storyline progressed nicely and made me want to continue to find out what happens. All in all, this game is not for everyone but a nice interlude of quiet game playing.
I recommend this game!

Symist is not one of the more well known producers for BFG but I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It was crisp, clean and bright even though the story was of a darker genre. The hos were not overly cluttered and the items requested were not hidden in shadows, too small to see or disguised. I played on the casual level. The music was appropriate and not too annoying. There were no voice overs and you needed to read what the characters were saying. The mini games were rather simple but still slid into the game easily. It was fast moving and though there were redo hos scenes, the items that you used were deleted from the hos. The hint button worked well, both in and out of the hos and if you were not sure where to go, the hint button guided you in the right direction without having to refill. The journal was not overly helpful but more of a first person narrative on feelings and emotions. There is a map which is helpful and can jump from place to place. There are no extras so to speak, but was a good fun game for a rainy Saturday morning.
I recommend this game!
