i got this as one of my first games that looked like fun...it was mostly frustrating. so i left it alone for a while. i went back to it today and am still not impressed.
I don't recommend this game.

Masquerade Mysteries: The Case of the Copycat Curator
Help P.I. Joy Black find items and turn them into disguises and gadgets to catch a corrupt curator that is stealing from her father!
the fun factor is deminished by the visual quality...o, it is clear but so small as to strain the eyes. i like the story line and the fact there are LOTS of hidden object games. i would really want to give this a 4 but...and there is no capability to give it a 3.5.
the game looked interesting so i tested for an hour and when the time ran out i still wanted to play it. then i found out there was a first game, so i tested that as well....same result. so i bought both of them. i had to start playing right away! the story is fantasy based, like harry potter which i liked. then suddenly i got into trouble...i couldn't figure out what i was supposed to do. off to i went to find the walkthrough...there is not walkthrough! nothing else to do but use one of my hint to see what the creators might want me to do. even the mini games were hidden object based which i enjoyed. the music was not irritating. now we have to talk about the visuals. the art work is good but some of the objects are really REALLY little so i would have to walk away from it for a while to give my eyes a rest. there were a couple of object that were reused and were unfindable that i just had to use a hint on. they were tone on tone but the object could not be found because the tones were the same rather than being a 2 tone variance. UNFAIR! but i like their hints. there is a sparkle area that you have to look within ....like maybe 2in x 1 one inch. and it stays up long enough so you really know the area of interest. that i liked as opposed to created that throw the hint up and take it down within the blink of an eye. so now you know why i love this game but sometimes it frustrates me....but i know i will replay it at another time.
i liked it. while i did used hints to figure out where to go, i did not used the strategic guide once. i needed hints to figure out where to go next...there is a lot of movement back and forth which sometimes took me time to find.
when i got to the bonus game, there were no hints and fewer instructions. it didn't take me long to stop playing the bonus game! the strategy guides was not much help either. i think only expert players could handle it!
there was lots of running around but i kept at it until i remembered where i used lots of hints to move around but though it often took me lots of time to figure things out...I DID IT! but the thing i am happiest about, i never once had to use the walkthrough! the art work is good and the story''s not bad. i really enjoyed myself.
i loved this game! the only complaint i have is that i would have gotten lost as a duck without the walkthrough! the fairy did not help with her hints in leading you from place to place. there was a lot of back and forth which was confusing at times. but the story, and graphic art terriic as are the mini game. give it a go, i think you will like it!
i like a good mystery and did not figure it out until the very end when all the pieces were put together. for the most part, i did not have to use the walk thru but there were time when the map was just no help at all! but at others, it was grand. i like the art work but the sound was...ok. the problems came when all the places on the map were checked off. that is when i had to resort to the walk thru. i love mysteries so enjoyed the story line although it could have been a bit fuller. i did have some problems with a couple of the mini games which could have been helped with a wee bit more instruction.
