I have to start by saying thank you to all the Fishies in the Pond who give such great insight into these games. I depend on all of you to make my choices on what to download and try.
That being said, I have to agree with the reviews. A great twist on the classic dark and sinister HOG. If you like a good tromp on the dark side you will not be disappointed. Yeah and that journal with the "helping hand" was different.
I agree with all the positive comments on Mystery Trackers Black Isle. I am amazed at just how much there is to do. It seems each time you zoom into an area of interest there is a puzzle to solve. Your going to get your money's worth. Spend some relaxing time solving puzzles, finding answers answers to all the questions and put everything in its place. In the end it'll worth it.
You have discovered a secret relationship between Queen Elizabeth I and a Catholic noble, Alphonse Pieter. Learning this secret has caused you trouble. You are shipped to the new colonies and find yourself in prison awaiting execution for a crime you did not commit. You will need to escape prison, find the evidence you need to prove that there is a dangerous plot and convince the Queen. If you're successful, you may be exonerated and prevent a revolution.
• Graphs are clear, bright and well done. • No voices for characters • Hints recharge slowly • You will encounter angry apparitions who give you tasks to complete to help them • Music fit the theme of the game. Not to overbearing • The mini puzzles are not difficult and much the same as so many other HOS games • The HOS are interactive, clear, easy to see • No penalty for random clicking on HOs. • A map is provided in your journal along with a description of the tasks to complete. The map shows were you are currently and areas of interest. The map does not allow jumping from one area to the next.
I was excited after reading in the forums that this game was due to be out this week. I loved Shiver: Vanishing Hitchhiker and was ready for another great adventure. I mirror what other fishies have said so beautifully about this game. The graphics are above par. Suspenseful, haunting and ethereal music goes well with the dark and creaky mansion. Thrown in a pompous caretaker/butler, slamming doors, fire blazes, lightening and an angry apparition. It's just got to be good.
ZZZ. Sorry fell asleep. Tried the demo on this game and have to agree with so many others that the slowness in movement hindered the gameplay. Game looks like it would be fun. Very different than most. I was unsure what genre of game it was until I looked at some of the posts. Positives are the music was lovely and relaxing. The scenes are colorful, bright, characters adorable, instructions on tasks were easy to follow. The few min-puzzles I encountered were enjoyable.
Won't comment on recommeding this game however it will be a no buy for me.
This is my first time management game. So I can not compare it to anything else. I have to say I like it. Very creative. It keep me alert. The tasks keeps you real busy. I was lost for awhile then caught on to the game concept. I can see why so many people get hooked on this type of game. It really keeps you thinking and motor skills tuned.
I recommend this game!

AHumerous and Clever Story: Rita James In Shangri-La
Very clever adventure story with a hint of Indiana Jones thrown in. The comic book style cut-scenes did not distract from the game. Graphics were good. Rita's snarky monkey side kick seems to be able to see danger before it happens. The HO's were interactive, nicely done very clear and easy to see. Sparkles indicate areas of interest. Music was very serene. Mini puzzles were fresh and some what technical. Enjoyable.
Overall, I really enjoyed myself. Lots of humor, enjoyable puzzles and amusing characters to make you laugh throughout the story.
Phenomenon: City of Cyan will have you entertained for hours. Monica must save her parents from an arcane world of supernatural mysteries. She is aided by a wizened phantasm who has a very personal link to her.
As you advance through the story, you will encounter: - dazzling and exquisite locations - brilliant and rich graphics - sound: mix of serene, resonant & intense add to the overall ambiance - HOs are clear & easy to find with a little twist - interactive puzzles with some new challenges
Some real thought went into this game. A SE game with a CE experience. Well worth the SE price.
Opening scene was encouraging. A good feeling I was going to enjoy this game. Old time western feel with a little spookfest throw in.
Using your paranormal abilities to find and save Billy, you will meet several ghosts. You will be given tasks to solve in order to continue the game. Graphics were good. HO scenes were clear but crowded. I did not have too much trouble finding items on the list. Overall, the storyline was well done and flowed from one environment to the next. Hints took a minute to recharge. Over clicking penalty recharged quickly. Some different puzzles I hadn't seen yet. No hand holding in solving. You are on your own. Clues to puzzles fairly easy to find with some searching. No hint when you are through searching a scene. Music was eerie, foreboding and had a strange ringing sound. Wasn't too keen on the ringing. I thought it irritating. Found my name on a casket. Didn't like it. Creepy.
Well fishies, I liked this game. It was a bit different. If there is a challenge for me, some different puzzles to solve and no hand-holding I'm hooked. I think I will use one of my game credits on this one.
Nancy finds herself on a ranch in Arizona to solve another mystery. I love bigfile/adventure games and liked the level of challenge in this one. The game has some fun and perplexing puzzles, mazes and coded messages to solve. You will have fun riding horses, roping and lots sleuthing to figure out what is causing the accidents at the ranch. There is a great map feature for easy navigation. Nice music, western theme, some sea ditties that will recede slowly after awhile. No loops droning on. Graphics are fairly average but good as this game has been out for some time. Lots of suspects to question and as expected Nancy's buddies from River Heights are ready and able to offer information to help you throughout the game.
