A superb HOPA game This game delivers it all. I felt like I received two presents in one great game with the lengthy bonus chapter.
What a wonderful way to play this delightful adventure than with quirky little companions that help you through your quest. My children just loved the candle, nutcracker and cats.
Cut scenes were great and not too long. Excellent voice overs and beautiful music from the Nutcracker Ballet. The puzzles and games were clever and not tedious. I had to do some thinking if I solved a situation with an object I collected or should I use one of my little helpers.
This game was so enjoyable. A Santa hat off to the developers for their wonderful contribution to our holiday season. My wish to Santa is that there is a sequel next season.
I beta tested this game and loved it. I knew I would buy it as soon as it was available. An enchanting adventure.
The prince has fallen in love with a beautiful woman he spent the evening dancing with but she disappears and you, a detective, are hired to find her. What better way to take you on your quest then to ride the prince's unicorn through beautiful scenes and fly to distant lands on a mythical winged creature.
This developer is a master of gorgeous artwork. Music compliments the story. There are so many enchanting scenes woven in to this story. A jump map allows you to move between scenes quickly. I liked the reverse hidden objects game very much and hope to see this type of HO in other games. Puzzles and mini-games were fun and a spin on some old favorites.
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
I don't understand some of the negative reviews on this game. Possibly gamers wanted more HO scenes or maybe because it was so different and not what they are used to. I enjoy playing adventure games. MCF Shadow Lake gave me just that an adventure game with lots of sleuthing and exploring.
Game interaction was superb. Loved the mini games and the lack HO scenes and mindless clicking to get one useful item.
I especially liked going into Cassandra's trance and fitting all the picture pieces together, as well as, matching the puzzle piece drawings throughout various scenes. The cut-scenes were done very well. Liked that the developers used real actors. About the only thing I thought was a bit hokey was that I felt Lea Thompson overacted Cassandra's character a bit too much. Although...it did not distract from the game in any way. All I can add is thanks to BFG on another fantastic MCF game. Can't wait for the next one.
I don't need to say again what other reviewers have already said about this game. Just so much to do and discover. I liked the fact that the HO's were varied. The mini-games were different and I was surprised to see that with some dedication, I actually figured them out. Lots of fun. The game was long as well as the bonus. Only thing, I did not care for was the repetition of so many games. Once was probably enough as the game was lengthy. Looking forward to more games of this caliber. Thanks Big Fish and devs.
Wow!! I can't say enough about this adventure game. So much to absorb in each scene. Long play with many puzzles and mini-games to solve. Got to pay attention as there are little things hidden in small places. No HO's to burden down the game. Straight adventure. . Creepy plant monsters, demons and explosions. Excitement, spooky, the kid kind of dumb for constantly grabbing at unknown items that whisk her away to peril but mom is a strong heroine whose mission is to save her daughter.
Lots of going back and forth but I didn't mind because the game held my interest all the way through. I didn't find the map very helpful. The red target dots didn't seem to add anything to the game. Didn't see the point.
I hope to see more solid adventure games that are separate from the HO-Adventure games. Thank you devs and Big Fish. Keep them coming.
Visually beautiful. Graphics are superb. The story, a welcome change. Very different with stone statues coming alive in a small snow covered hamlet. This game was filled with surprises. Music was nice. I thought the music from the harp was lovely. Great fun having a stone rooster and stone miner assist during your adventure. The hint system using a dwarf to provide help was a pleasant surprise, as well.
The HOs were well done. No over click penalties made me happy. The mini-games were different and not what we have become so accustomed to. I really liked trying to figure out where the mythological characters where to be placed on the ancient world map. I also liked the knight game, fighting dragons, finding treasure and bringing a rose to his fair lady.
Loads of fun. Thank you Big Fish and developers for a great experience in casual gaming.
Great Game. Beautiful artwork. Vivid, clear scenes, music fit the story. HO's were sharp with no overclick penalty. I especially like the poof of a red cloud when the item disappeared. Puzzles medium to challenging. The journal was helpful as it stored information needed in other scenes and puzzles. The Collector's Edition Bonus helped put closure to the main story. Nice ending.
Fierce Tales The Dogs Heart is a deviation to the familiar story, of abductions of siblings, spouses and children. This time, it is your pet dog that has been abducted. What makes this game so different is that it provides a unique twist in the game. The twist involves a dog's heart and unrequited love.
The cut scenes are beautifully mastered. Graphics are clean and sharp. HO and puzzles evenly distributed. Puzzles were somewhat difficult. The music fit the story. Interactive map took you from scene to scene.
The Collector's Edition Bonus Chapter is long and takes you through the events preceding the story. Excellent as some bonus features are very short and do not add anything worthwhile to the main story. Not so with Fierce Tales The Dogs Heart. Money well spent for a Collector's Edition.
This adventure game had the perfect number of puzzles and HO scenes. Just so much to see and do. No over-click penalty and puzzles were somewhat difficult to challenging. Voice-overs fit with the characters. Music ho-hum. Hint recharge a bit long. Some walking back and forth to find items, but not overly annoying.
A help to understanding the plot is to read the journal which keeps you on track. The mini puppet shows also gave clues to the story. Beautifully put together and the Bonus Chapter in the Collector's Edition, not necessarily needed for closure to the story, but instead left you with a feeling that kindness will always triumph over evil.
I had a fun experience playing this game and will re-play it again in hard mode.
A new breed of virus has spread throughout the City of Oxford. You must search the city for a missing girl who holds the key to stopping the global epidemic!
This game sounds like it could be something you see on the news. Pull me in right away. Made me feel I was apart of the town and its sobering reality. Graphics gave you the sene like you were there experiencing the panic. Real characters added to the overall reality of this game. Music was brooding, ominous and it was so cool with sounds of the helicopters flying overhead, voices over the PA systems, the absence of town folk left the foreboding feeling you better get out of town fast.
Not being a big fan of HO's, I did find the HO scenes to be interesting and of course no penalty for over clicking was great. The game overall was not very challenging but sometimes you don't need that with so much to get immersed in.
I am glad I got out of the town when I did. That virus was nasty.
Hope there is a sequel and more exciting games like this.
