This game/story has all the elements I look for in a game. Beautiful but dangerous scenery, a believable heroine and hero who fit nicely in the story, good versus evil where good wins in the end. Along the way, you meet interesting characters, some good some not so good. The HOS are great and the interactive puzzles are excellent and challenging (at least for me as an intermediate player). You play as Eveline, so you're thrust into these areas where you are unsure what's waiting for you around the bend. You can almost smell the sulphurous swamps or the acrid stench of the Nagas under water world. Yep, you got it, as in snakes YIKES!!! But, if you get stuck, you have this cute little dragon buddy (I named mine cubbsy-ubbsy) who is willing to help you along the way. I encourage you to get the collectors edition because the bonus story tells you how the trusted but evil Marrbutt came to be. This is the second time I've played this game. And, I am 100% sure I will play it again. Good fun!!!
Another one!!! The Dark Parables are among my favorites. The only other series that can come anywhere near these series of games are the Awakening Kingdom games. I love playing these kinds of games. The graphics are breathtakingly beautiful. The HOS are tough but not overwhelmingly so. I like the adventure and the fairytale mode of the story and how the developers blended these two genres together: And very nicely indeed. I actually feel involved in the plight of the hero/heroine of these story-games. I care about them. I want them to overcome the villain (evil). I will say that if you played and enjoyed any of the Dark Parables, Awakening Kingdom games, or even Enchantia: Wraith of the Phoenix Queen, you're going to love, love this game.

I am a chicken. There I said it. This game terrified me. It's like my nightmares come true. I go to investigate this old castle. I open the door and fall through the floor. It's dark and dank wherever I am. The wind is whistling/groaning through the broken areas of the building. I can't see much. The hairs rise up on the back of my neck. I try to spy out in the gloom to see where to go. I am trapped!!! I recommend this game to all of you who are brave enough to enter. Not for the faint hearted...ME!!! I am so in love with beautiful scenery, fairies, etc...as in the Awakening series so that these kind of games terrify me. Bravehearts enter in and enjoy.
I have a vivid imagination. That being said, I had no business playing this game. But guess what, I played this game. It's dark and gloomy. I was pins and needles during the whole game; expecting to see this huge beast around every corner or un-investigated room. I loved this game. If you like thrills and chills, play it! You'll love it.

I am an intermediate player. This game was a challenge for me. For those who like a challenge, this is for you. I love and own all the previous Awakening games. The visual scenes alone was what drew me. Then the story line; always excellent. I traveled and fought along side Queen Sophia in her quest to find/save her parents from Dreadmyre. It's great!!! However, for me this version falls just a little short of the previous games. Not in the visuals, it has the same beautiful graphics as all the others. It's the many puzzles/mini games that got to me after a while. I ended up skipping a couple of them. For people who love to solve puzzles, etc, try this games. You will love it. I'd rate this game at 31/2 stars.

It really is a great game. What captured me at first was the graphics. Everything is so beautiful just like a fairyland is suppose to be. In my minds eye I could see myself as the main character trying to defeat the evil that has come to this realm and at the same time trying to save my parents from that evil. The puzzles are challenging but not so that it puts one off playing the game. So far, I've played this game twice.(Hint and nudge to developers:) I can't wait to see if there is a part 2 in this game with all the same characters. Oh! BTW, I loved the bonus game too.
I recommend this game!

It will definitely take time to finish this game. It can become confusing in certain places with me not knowing which way to go or what to do next. But the hint button was a great help. And about that hint button, I actually didn't want to ask it for help because it had an attitude. I thought, "Really, a hint button with an attitude?"LOL But all in all I enjoyed the game. I recommend leaving the game when you grow weary. Try doing something else and come back to the game at a later time. I like the way the ending gives you the choice. Hope you find this helpful?
