Can you hold on to your integrity to right the wrongs the townspeople have committed? Can you uncover a murderer in the town to prevent the destruction unleashed by the Organ Grinder? You are the detective summoned to a town under attack by a vengeful organ grinder. The Organ Grinder has unleashed a series of monsters that is destroying the town. You must find a way to destroy the monsters and save the town's folk. This is an exciting and terrifying game. The gloom and doom atmosphere of the town adds a certain dreariness and dread to the game. And that creepy Organ Grinder? Well, I wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley or a lighted one for that matter. The HOS are very well done and some of the interactive puzzles were different and challenging for me as an intermediate player. But not too difficult so as to prevent me from solving them. I bought the CE version, so I had the strategy guide if I needed it. There is also a map that acts as a teleporter. If you need the hint button, it fills quite fast. There is a helper. A cute baby phoenix to get objects out of the fire and to light candles or lamps. I gave this game 4 stars because there is the biggest snake in this game that I ever saw in any game. And when it lunged at the detective (me), I lost it. I may have night mares after this. LOL!! It's a good game that offers a good challenge.
I recommend this game!

This is a good game or players of all levels. Firstly, the scenery is absolutely beautiful as are all of the Dark Parables. The developers incorporate heroines/heroes from previous games, Red Riding Hood Sisters and Rapunzal. The story is based on greed and vengeance. A vintner, who lives in Montafleur a countryside in France, wants to become a world class wine maker. So he does an unthinkable thing. He captures a moon-woman who is a goddess and holds her captive so he can drain her essence. He used this essence to make the world's finest wine. After the father dies, the son takes over. Somehow, the goddess escapes from bondage. With the father dead, it's the son (and the whole town) who must pay the price of the father's treachery. The goddess makes the towns people disappear. She turns the winemakers son into a beast. Our erstwhile detective is hired to solve this mystery and restore balance to the town. We follow along as he goes about trying to find clues and track down the culprit. I liked the story but felt sorry for the goddess. All those years stored in some contraption sucking out her essences just destroyed the kind, loving person she once was. I am an intermediate player so some of the interactive puzzles were a little of a challenge. But, solving them was worth it. I bought the CE version of this game and was happy I did. The mini /storygame tells the life story of the moon goddess. This is a great game/story with some good interactive puzzles and HOS. It’s a nice addition to the other Dark Parables games I’ve played.
I recommend this game!

This is a twist to the old tale of good versus evil. Using the classic fairytale of Rapunzel, the developers twisted this tale into something dark and different. The beautiful and much loved Queen Violante gives birth to a beautiful baby girl. But soon after birth, the mother dies. The kingdom is heartbroken and as time goes on, unrest grows in the kingdom. The Goddess Floria senses this and gifts the princess with the gift of restorative song. So, her singing brings peace to the kingdom. Later on, the king marries Queen Melanie. She wants the people to love her as much as they did Queen Violante. So she confides in her servant, Mother Gotha, who has evil plans of her own. Soon Queen Melanie becomes pregnant. Mother Gotha sees her chance and brews a dark potion for the queen to drink. This potion has dark consequences for the Queens unborn baby. The baby is born with the gift of killing anyone who touches her. The Queen is heartbroken and dies. Mother Gotha disappears. The King banishes Belladonna to the tower. Her only friend and visitor is Rapunzel. The scenery is beautiful as with all Dark Parables. Game play is great. There is a hint button that fills quickly and a skip button. There is also a map that tells you where you need to go to acquire a certain object, etc. But, it's not a relocation map. There are many interactive puzzles and some are really inventive. My favorite was the perfume tilt. I play as an intermediate and it was not too challenging for me. This is a good Dark Parables game to add to your line-up. Replaying this game sometimes in the future? I'm not sure right now.
I recommend this game!

Firstly, this game has all the elements I like: a beautiful princess has fled her world with an evil mage hot on her heels. The mage has captured her kingdom and imprisoned her father. His evil has literally destroyed her world. And, to add insult to injury, he is forcing her to marry him. The princess flees her kingdom and enters a new world through a magic mirror. She falls for young man who becomes her hero and champion. And so, they must fight for their very existence. The graphics in this game are beautiful and engaging. The various worlds to which you travel are scenic and dangerous. The villain is evil. The HOS are very well done. I am an intermediate player, so some of the interactive puzzles were different and challenging. But the hint button, if you need it, charges quickly. But, after a while, I got tired of the back and forth. I would find one part of an object that needed fixing and then I'd have to go back upstairs or to another world to fix that object. It became tedious, like giving me the round-around. However, even though it was tedious for me, it's still a good game. I'd actually like to give it three and a half stars but, this board doesn't give half stars.
I recommend this game!

Ragnor is the King of the northern lands. His world has been under attack by various bad guys: Gestar a witch, a dragon, and various other villains. This is a fun time management game that has beautiful scenery and different levels of challenges. I first play untimed and then I go back and play timed. I am not good playing in timed mode. I get too caught up in game play. When I think I've beat the level And actually have NOT, that's when bad things happen. Sometimes, there are some things that come out of my mouth that has me looking around to see if someone else said those things. That said, Please, try these strategy games. I bought Northern Tales 1 and 2. I am presently playing 3 and am looking for number 4. LOL!! I hope you enjoy these game as much as we do. They can be challenging but a whole lot of fun and they're great family games!
I recommend this game!

This is a super-hero of a game. I thought it was just the same old thing all over again. But, let me say, "I was sooo surprised". It has a great storyline. The graphics are beautiful and the music ties it altogether in a nice little package. The interactive puzzles are challenging but not so difficult that you can't handle it at the intermediate level. And, if you do get stuck, there is the hint button that is also a teleporter. I'm sure that you, if you are reading this review, have read all the others reviews. So, I'm going to make mine short. It's a great game. I am sure you will like it :-)

Time management/strategy/family game players, this game might be for you. If you played and liked games like Northern Tales and My Kingdom for the Princess, then this game is for you. I have to really think about how to use my resources and my hero in this game. The storyline is not a new one. There is this kingdom that has been at peace for centuries. One day, everything changes when a dark cloud appears and destroys the land. When the dark cloud moves on, the princess has moved on with it: Kidnapped by the dark sorcerer who resides in the dark cloud. Along comes a young man (you) who can save the Princess and restore the Kingdom too. You meet helpers along the way, like the hunter who gets rid of wild boars and wizards who gets rid of frogs. You must build and upgrade various buildings to help provide you with the resources you need to beat the time. You don't have a choice of choosing which mode to play ( untimed, relax, expert, etc). However, you can go back and replay the area where you did not beat the timer. The graphics are really very nice, clear and bright. The heat is on. You must restore the land in a timely fashion. It's a tightrope for me because I have a tendency to run through things without thinking/strategizing. Then I have to go back and replay it again to beat the timer. I am an intermediate player and this game is not difficult for me. I liked this game.
I recommend this game!

Personally, I didn't like this game. When it first started off, I thought what a novel idea. It looked interesting and fun. An orphaned girl looking for her adopted brother who has been kidnapped by a witch. So, I bought the CE version. It started off really good but as I played on, it got considerably darker. It's not that I didn't like certain aspects of this game, I did. Some of the interactive puzzles were great. But I couldn't go on after the Ouija board. It was just too much for me. I'm sorry I wasted my money but a lesson learned. I have never panned a game. And I won't start now. Someone else may not mind all the dark magic inferences. But, it's not for me. Good luck!

This game has all the elements that I like. It has pretty scenery, a mystery, and a hero and a heroine. There are some good interactive puzzles and some nice hidden object scenes that are not overwhelming. The story line is also good. "Your best friend, Kira has gotten married to mystery man, Victor. You are invited to come for a visit them in Baumholder. A quaint town with old world charm. Suddenly, the temperature drops. Everything starts getting colder. Ice is everywhere. Where is all this iciness coming from...it's summer? The wind whips up blowing debris everywhere. Kira is trapped by a fallen lamp post. Victor tries to lift it but it's too heavy. Ice giants appear. They capture your friend who is screaming for you to help them. The ice giants try to capture Victor but he eludes them. And so it begins. I really liked this game. I play at the intermediate level and it was not too hard for me. I didn't have to rely on the hint button to get me through the game.but if you the hint button, it charges quickly. And, it acts as a teleporter as well. And, the HOS scenes are clean, clear, and straight forward. I really don't like jumbled/garbage-like HOS.The game has some really nice interactive puzzles. They were varied and inventive. As a math teacher, I really liked was the cash register in the hunter's shop. I don't think I'd want to call the scenery beautiful, just pretty. It fits the name of the town, Baumholder. Now, there is a cliffhanger. I was surprised. I am so used to having these games wrap up all nice and tidy at the end. The villain is dead, long live the good guys...nope, not here. Which leaves the field open for another game or not. I recommend this game.

I'm a little sorry I bought this game. It started out really fun. But after a while, it became slow and tedious. I bought this game on March 5, 2015. I started playing the game. I got tired and deleted the game. I restarted the game and off and on have been playing this game for a number of days. The story is about love and overcoming evil. They have some really nice interactive puzzles but not many HOS. I’m not ashamed to say that I used the skip/hint button many times. It’s not an awful game but it was not a good fit for me. But because I am ambivalent about this game, I don’t want to say that one should not try it. I neither liked the game nor hated it.Try the demo and then decide.
