I love strategy games. They keep the old gray cells working. This game is a great concept. You choose your character: mage, warrior, etc. Along the way, you gain cards to help you in battle. Your first challenge is to find out who poisoned the ruler of your kingdom. As you investigate, you realize that someone is trying to start a war. Disturbing events are occurring. Humans are being attacked and killed. Towns are being burned to the ground. Have the elves and dwarves band together to attack and kill humans? Didn't you all sign a peace treaty long ago? I got excited! I was like, " Wow!! This game is going to be really great!" I scrolled over this huge map and thought I was going to travel to many different areas, fight many different monsters, and garner various, more powerful cards along the way. Nope! Didn't happen. On this huge map one can only travel a few places. I also had a problem trying to figure out how to switch my cards before battles. I kept getting beat up. I went online to find instructions but couldn't find any. I was confused. It took a minute, but I finally figured it out. I have a few suggestions: The design team should go back and (1) add more places to the map so players can travel,(2) give players the ability to upgrade their cards to more powerful levels, (3) and allow us to discard or sell unwanted/weak cards in the shops, (4) add more battles with different and more challenging enemies. This game has all the bells and whistles to be a top-notch game. It just needs to be tweaked.
I recommend this game!

this is a game that you will enjoy. It has all the elements of a good fairy tale: A golden dragon, a curse, a dying queen, a princess (heroine), and a dark force bent on wrecking havoc. Your quest is to save your sister, the Queen, who has been poisoned. But as you go about trying to save your sister, you find that saving her is a part of a much bigger problem. The graphics are beautiful. The desert world and ice world were amazing to me. The music also fits right in. The puzzles and HOS are great. There were some new ones that I've not played before. As an intermediate player, I found them to be a challenge but not overwhelming. You have a wise cat familiar who offers advice and helps out along the way. I must say, I was very pleasantly surprised with this game. If you love fantasy, try this game.
I recommend this game!

These games take the player on an adventure in a Mayan-like land. Your main focus are: find the survivors of a previous expedition, discover new territory, and send gold to the homeland, Spain. But along the way you help the inhabitants of this culture-healing them, repairing huts, fences, and destroyed idols. You are sent on small expeditions to find missing relatives. And, don't forget the dinosaurs and cavemen that are trying to prevent you from reaching your goal. You can choose your level of play. Me, being the chicken that I am chose the relaxed mode, no timer. I bought all 3 of the games. My daughter and I played together. She on her laptop and me on the desktop. I must say that the fun we had can not be described. I love these games and am now replaying them just to see if I can do it at a different level. You know the strangest thing I've discovered about these games is this, even though I completed all 3 of the games, going back and replaying them is like playing them for the very first time. I say things to myself like, "I don't remember playing this world. But, I had to because I finished the game." And friends, it's one of those games where any age can play. If you like time-management games try these. They are just pure fun.
I recommend this game!

This game started out wonderfully. It has a good storyline. The graphics are beautiful. And I loved the puzzles and HOS. But by the end of the game, I was fried. I am tired of fighting all things demonic. I bought the CE because I like playing the bonuses. But, I couldn't even play the bonus game. I may go back to it one day with a fresh mind and outlook. But not for a while. I'm taking a break back to the Awakening series and Dark Parables.
I recommend this game!

but a good game all the same. The premise is that you build a garden/park that attracts people to come and visit. You earn money and trophies by selling food, drinks, and T-shirts and for reaching certain goals. It's a stress- free game that does not offer much of a challenge. You are the creator who is given a blank landscape where you can plant and decorate to your preferences. I love gardening so this was good for me. However some things I would like to see changed such as the linear design of the game. You can't turn objects left or right. For instance; benches, statues, and other objects can only be place one way. And the developers need to give players a larger selection of animals, decorations, and plants. All in all, it's a pleasant game.
I recommend this game!

You and your son are on your way back home. You stop for a rest and maybe something to eat before continuing onward. You get busy tidying up the area when suddenly you hear your child cry out. Whirling around, you watch in horror as he is swallowed up by a tree. The graphics in this game are wonderfully drawn. But this is NOT a pretty game. I can truly say that for me, it was creepy. I am happy I bought the standard edition with a credit. I love games where good overcomes evil. And, I am sure that the brave mother will save her child from the demon. Apparently, someone has opened a door for him to re-enter this world. But first he needs to inhabit a body. And guess whose body he is given. I must say that I didn't finish this game. It's for someone who has a stouter heart then I. I am a lover of fluff. If you are strong and of good courage, help save this child and allow him to return to the arms of his mother. I couldn't!! Oh, BTW, the puzzles and HOS are very interesting. I believe beginners and intermediate players will like them very much. And, the puzzles/HOS may even surprise some experts. Good Luck!!
I recommend this game!

I have a love of fantasy. When I was little, my sister told me stories of the wee people, iridescent wings fluttering, and pots of gold. These tales made me a lifelong lover of all things fantastical. This story is fabulous. When the dragon crashed through the roof of the shed to snatch the little boy, I thought "old boy, he is toast"!!! But no, the tale that's told will capture you so that you will want to see what will happen next. The graphics are beautiful. The puzzles are challenging but not overwhelming for an intermediate or a beginner. And, if you do have a problem, the hint button is very helpful and charges fast. In the collector's edition, you have the story guide as well. I would suggest to all to buy the Collector's Edition because of the continuation of the game/storyline. The bonus story, gives you a challenge as well. It's not just tossed in there, meaninglessly. It adds true value to the story and it gives you a promise that there will be a continuation of this game. I hope so!!! Oh and if you like the Awakening series as much as I do, please add this one to your collection of games. You won't regret it:)!!!
I recommend this game!

Playing as the main character, you receive a call from your friend to come to Brownville,Louisiana. Times are hard and you need a job. Brownville, according to your friend Ben, have many jobs available. You buy a bus ticket and head to Brownville. Now, the town is unassuming. It's dilapidated and out dated. It looks like some movie set out of the thirties or forties with Humphrey Bogart and Edward G. Robinson in their famous gangster role. You walk in the casino and look around. There are round gambling tables, a jukebox in the corner, posters on the wall, and a long bar with an old fashioned cash register. The first table you see is a card table with your friends Ben and Louise and the guy (Simon) who is suppose to be giving you a job.
You thought you were going to work on an oil rig or be a farm hand or something. But nooo!!! The first thing the guy wanted was not your resume. It is to play a card game with him. You're taken aback but say yes, you'll play because you want to be friendly. Now dear friends... this is no ordinary card game. This is a game of life and death. Simon is not who he seems! And, suddenly you are whisked away through some kind of portal and where you land, nobody knows. The worlds and creatures are strange and some are downright dangerous. OH!! and you have the cutest little helper creature you've ever seen. But, you have to be on your toes at all times. And, you have to solve puzzles, HOS, and concoct potions and what-not in order to get out of the game alive! If you don't get out (win the game) dear friends; Ben, Louise, and you will remain in the game forever. Your souls will be caught and held there by the master of the game. And the master of the game is sure not Simon. Mahahaha, enter at your own risk.
I recommend this game!

This game is very interesting. Things are not what they seem. Uncle Alfred needs your help. The experiment that you and he have been working on somehow went crazy and Uncle was swept away. Being over zealous, he tried to go it alone. The portal opened and now he is trapped in a strange world with an equally strange being who tries to stop you at every turn. You must enter the portal to find your Uncle. The worlds are varied, beautiful, and interesting. Personally, I like the Sun, Earth, Water, and Fire worlds. I wish these worlds were longer. I liked the two headed dog and his creepy friend the snake. And in the fire world I like the dragon and phoenix. I am afraid of heights but even the universe couldn't stop me. My curiosity to see what happened to Uncle Alfred propelled me onward. But, things are no all that it seems. As you continue your search for your Uncle, you also become the protector of the Philosopher's Stone. With an artifact as powerful as the Philosopher's Stone, can treachery and betrayal be far behind? As an an intermediate player, I buy the Collector's Edition. I like the idea of have the strategy guide right there just in case. I used a game credit for the standard version. But, surprisingly I did well. I did need little tweaks every now and again in the game. The hint button was great. And it charged very quickly. But, I still would like to play the CE version.
I recommend this game!

When I was a little girl, I developed a fear of frogs that has lasted to this day. But, when I came across this game, my fear fly out the window. What a lovely, sad story! The prince who is probably about 500 years old is looking for his true love. He has gone through all of the fairy tale princesses and now have reached out into the real world for women to be his queen. Enter the detective assigned to the case of finding a young woman who has gone missing in the deep dark woods. The graphics are amazingly beautiful. The HOS and puzzles are challenging but nothing insurmountable. I've played this game several times already and am about to start another round. If you are a fan of Dark Parables games and have not played this game yet, please do. It's a must have! I know you will like it.
