This sequel is just as good as the first which I really enjoyed. The HO scenes aren't difficult and lean towards being too easy but do have some interactivity which makes up for that. The storyline is pretty much the same as the first game and the music/graphics/voiceovers are all up to par. The mini-games/puzzles aren't difficult and the tasks are pretty straightforward. As soon as an item enters your inventory you pretty much have use for it straight away. There is no map but I don't think it is necessary and I never use them anyway unless absolutely stuck. There is a journal but I can't comment on that because again I never refer to them unless necessary. I cannot comment on the hint recharge time. All in all a nice pleasant game which is not overly taxing. I think this would be a brill starter game for anyone not used to this genre of game.
This game has shot to the top of my best game list. It was brilliant. I can't fault anything about it. I didn't mind that the HO's weren't interactive as there was so much to do in the game anyway. I didn't mind that you couldn't simply pick up a stick/stone to throw at the bird. The interactive/portal map is always an added bonus for when I really get stuck and I used it once and only because I'd missed something buried in the snow so couldn't figure out what to do next. This game had me hooked from beginning to end with just a little breather about 3/4 of the way through - I needed sleep!. The storyline was great and I didn't feel at a loss at any point. The length and quality of the game were the best I've ever come across. The mini games/puzzles got me really thinking - I had to skip 1 of them but I will play again and figure it out if it kills me - or I'll buy a box of matches to practice with. If anyone did not go on to buy this game after they demo'd it then it can only mean that this genre of game is not to their liking - and/or they were having a bad day- because it is without a doubt the best in its field.
I don't know what to say. This game was awful! They gave voiceovers for a mole but the dog just growled and you had to quickly read the subtitles to keep up with the dialogue. That was just plain stupid. Worst game I have demo'd in a very long time. Can't believe it is a new game. And even more annoying (if possible) is that when you are trying to figure out what to do in the basement, the narrator talks to you as if you're stupid. Lasted 9 mins of demo and trashed it.
I don't recommend this game.

Vacation Quest: Australia
Grab your passport and get ready for an exotic Hidden Object Adventure in Vacation Quest: Australia!
... with puzzles thrown in. It is certainly not what they describe as an adventure. This will be going on my to buy for a lazy rainy day list but only if it comes on sale DD or COTW.
I couldn't even start to enjoy this game because of the irritating characters running around after you, jumping up and down clapping their hands. Just plain annoying. I only lasted 15 mins of demo then dumped it.
Thoroughly enjoyed a few hours chilling with this game. Loved the idea of when you had a few things to collect they went into your inventory so you could put them all in the correct place at once instead of keep clicking and putting them into the circle (I know what I mean LOL). The graphics were great and the music was lovely - I normally turn that off. I was really taken in by the game and found myself rushing to find the HOs when the bin was on fire and the alarm was going off, and again when the burglar was in the shower! Didn't want to get caught! I would have liked the choice of voice-overs but that didn't spoil the game for me.
I've just purchased this as a bonus buy because I already had the first in the series and I've replayed that one many times over the years. This one is a lot easier and less taxing on the brain but after playing more challenging games (which I love# this one seems to be a nice relaxer. I'm not bothered about the shortness/easiness etc., as I'll keep this as my chilling out game. It's not the usual HOG - you have to find fragments of objects - this would be a great beginner for anyone not experienced in that kind of game. I would definitely recommend it. Oh and although the level of challenge is really easy I clicked on the third option #OK) because I didn't want to say it was awful or poor - if the options had been too easy or easy then I would have said easy.
I recommend this game!

Secret Mission: The Forgotten Island
Help world-renowned scientist Chanel Flores explore a mysterious island that has appeared in the Bermuda Triangle!
Brilliant game and the graphics are second to none. I wish all games were made to this standard. It might not be hard / challenging for the more expert fishes in the pond but I can't praise it enough. The only downside is the length which lookes to be 1 1/2 to 2 hours long which is a shame. It is most definitely at the top of my wish list should it ever come up in any sale.
Having thoroughly enjoyed (and replayed 3 times) James Patterson's Women's Murder Club: Little Black Lies, I was ecstatic to come across the other three including this one, Death in Scarlet. Unfortunately for me the other three did not come anywhere close to Little Black Lies and I didn't even last 10 mins into each of the demo's.
I enjoyed playing this HOG which is very factual on the topics (x3). There are 3 missions and they all contain HOGs and quizzes - 12 games in each mission. Items can be very small and integrated into the background which I know the majority of players dislike. It is only approx 1 1/2 hours long and based on the forum comments, some players even completed the whole game (with time to spare) in the demo. So overall I will give this game 5 stars simply for being that little bit different. I am going to recommend this game for at least the demo and you never know you might have played a game for free if you're as fast as some players (not me LOL).
