The Big Bad Wolf wants Red Riding Hood for Dessert!
He wants to marry her!!! HAH! Had you!
The graphics are very simple ..... beyond old school. The music was ok. NO lip syncing. NO moving lips/mouth NOR voices. Think silent movie where you have to READ EVERYTHING!
No choice of difficulties. Hmmm.
HOGs were ..... click and drag....which doesn't bode well for these old hands. And there is a click penalty. Mini Games - meh.
There's a journal/diary that remains empty .... so what's the point? We were on own getting about as there was no map. The 'hint' button seems to take forever .... but that could just be my impatience. It appeared that you could not lock the 'inventory' into place. Again, hmmm.
Here and there you will find a 'wolf's head' ..... click on it and you have a fact card about Ms. Riding Hood.
I was running away from this game when I realized there were no voice overs. The click and drag was what tipped the scales as a no-purchase for me. This is a very, very, very basic game. Definitely NOT for me but, perhaps, you will ..................
Your character is a botanist whose latest find is making worldwide news .... a new species of moss has been found. Now, you find yourself on an epic adventure .... to a hidden place (shhhh) of peace and tranquility that holds secrets as old as time itself. (Mum's the word) But, the forest creatures, creatures as old as time, may be in terrible, terrible trouble. YOU need to help them. Can you?
Graphics were much better than I expected for a fantasy-type game of today. The voice overs were absolutely amazing. You have to play the game to understand exactly what I mean. The music was .... suspenseful.
You get a diary/journal and a transportable map.
3 difficulty modes: Casual, Advanced and Expert.
HOGS (hidden object games) - silhouettes, slightly interactive, no alternate game. Mini Games - fun, fun, fun! I didn't see a "reset" button but that could have just been me.
CE Bling: * Collect 30 cards (NOT always easy to find -- could they be morphing objects?) * Collect 30 ethereal flowers (easier to find than the "card") * 22 puzzles (not sure what this is all about - sorry)
I really liked that you had to manipulate the fire hose to put out the fire .... or the OMG moment when you found your kidnapped Grandmom . SHOCKED MUCH???? WHO in the WORLD would kidnap a grandmom?!!?!?!? The "forest folk" sitting around the table .... I just fell in love with them and desperately wanted to jump into the computer and help them!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the troll-looking Slavic creature!
It's NOT often that you come across a game that evokes so much emotion (worry for the forest folk HELP ! , shock .... scared ... laughter) ..... that makes you forget that it's just a game ..... where the mini games and HOGs just take a backseat to the storyline.
This is definitely NOT a game to pass up. I think it would be great for all levels of experienced players. It is a definite purchase for me, especially as a CE. In fact, I replayed the beta so much waiting for the release of this entertaining and fun game, I was way ready to move on with the REST of the game ages ago!!!!
Are you up to the task of helping the forest creatures????? Join me in this daunting task and I promise .... you will certainly .....
Dracula is looking for his one true love ..... but, sadly, things don't go quite as expected in this FUN time management game!!!!!
The graphics are cute! The music is very Halloween-y! The storyline couldn't get any cuter! And the wacky characters you meet? 5* all the way!
This is a typical 'build-it' kind of game. Get food, get resources, save scarecrows, build Blood-Donalds (yes, you saw it here first!) and other wacky buildings to help you along the way!
After playing all 3 demos (CE/SE/Beta) I knew this would be a purchase for me! CE-worthy? Oh my - YES! (IMO). However, there is just as much fun and entertainment to be had in the SE version. If you want lots of giggles, chuckles and belly laughs (i.e., building 'Blood-Donald's - HAH!) you have come to the right place.
I have to agree with all the reviewers on one thing .... this is a FUN time management game!!!!!

CE Bling: Wallpapers, bios of your characters (love love love) and a strategy guide as well as.... * collect stickers * collect figurines * collect black cats
I don't usually purchase 'build-it' games that are CEs. At first, it seemed to have so little to offer (collecting all the extras notwithstanding). I cried forlornly into my cup of blood punch thinking I would have to wait for the SE to make a purchase (crying sad face). Then, BAM! I played the SE and was bored to tears! Oh, how we need those little side extras to collect - it's a large part of playing the game and, therefore, I am off to hit the 'BUY' button. In the meantime,
I'm not sure there is a storyline. I'm not sure what 'P.E.T.' stands for. But I did find the game entertaining in that it did get more difficult as you progressed.
The graphics, while not being the multi-colored screen we're accustomed to in another popular Griddlers-type game, is clear and there is a definitive idea of what is supposed to be 'colored' and what is not. At the end of each level the end picture might be difficult to figure out, there ARE pictures ..... just look harder!
There are several modes of play: Practice for Beginners, Practice for Experts, Adventure and one other (I think - sorry!!!).
Same rules apply in this game as others of this type. There are numbers at each side, top and bottom of a graph board. Using the numbers shown, fill in the blanks. Upon completion there should be SOME kind of picture.'
I'm not saying this is the best game of this type on the market (IMO Fantasy Mosaics). I'm not saying it's the best teaching game (IMO Gemsweeper). However, for a boring weekend ..... rainy weekend .............. snow days home ........... it's not ENTIRELY a bad game. Will I purchase it? Maybe if 'FM' stops making games - lol!
Mom calls and tells you, quite frantically, NOT to come home! Of course, you are on the way .... like ..... NOW!!!! You arrive and everyone ............ everyone .................. has disappeared! Have you arrived ..... too late?????
Graphics are ok - could be better. Music and sound fx ok. Voice overs were well done.
Casual/Advanced/Hardcore and Custom difficulties.
HOPs - varied and interactive. Mini Games were fun and some required patience and perseverence (I have none).
You have a diary and a transportable map. The 'hint' button also transports.
CE Bling: Usual fare such as replayable games, screensavers, etc. as well as ......... * Collectible figurines - 12 - they are Morphing Objects * Collect the usual game flowers - not as easy as in past games and what are we collecting them for this time?
I wasn't too impressed with the game. I don't think it's CE-worthy so IF I purchase it I will wait for the SE. The game play just didn't 'flow' well enough for me. It seemed disjointed and ... dare I say ..... boring. I love the 'Surface' series but either this is an unusual dud of a game or the series needs to 'Return to' earlier game play which was much more fun to play ..... or perhaps it's time for the Surface saga to finally end.
I believe beginners will enjoy the game. Diehard Surface fans might be ..... disappointed.
Graphics were ok. Voice overs, sound fx and music were ...... meh.
Explorer/Professor/County Bounder and Swamp Dweller difficulties (love these names!)
HOGs (hidden object games) - varied from lists to interactive games. Morphing Objects are located in the HOGs. There is an alternative Mahjong game if you prefer. Mini Games were unique and sometimes very hard (for me).
I found that I had a difficult time with the instructions for the mini games - they seemed difficult to understand. As though additional instruction would have made what I was supposed to do a bit clearer. The Interactive Map was redundant in its use so I relied heavily on the 'hint' button, which also transported.
CE Bling: Besides the usual fare, there is the following ............... * Lorebook (wonder what this is) * Souvenir Room (hmmm) * Collect Acorns * Morphing Objects - in the HOGs - 16 * Collect Hidden Signs - 42
CE Bling seems very 'heavy' with lots to find. However, during the game play didn't equal what was 'on paper'. Are the 'hidden signs' the same as the 'acorns'? What do we do with the 'souvenir room'? Also, what I found during game play was an acorn in every scene and a morphing object in each HOG. Again, what you find during game play is a lot 'lighter' than what appears on 'paper'.
Reviews of the CE demo indicate the game IS long, however, the Bonus Game IS needed to understand the ending of the game. If true, this leaves the SE game sadly lacking. Reviews also indicate that you could not collect any 'souvenirs' until you had completed the Bonus Game.
Unfortunately, I was not immersed in the storyline. There was no personal 'wow' factor indicating I HAD to purchase the game. I would recommend it for beginners only or those who have not played previous Myths games - as they would be disappointed in this one. This will not be a purchase for me because of all the 'hmmm' moments, confusion re the CE Bling and lack of good mini game instructions.
Prince Sigfried would wander through his Palace Garden. One day, he met the lovely Odette. He gave her a red rose and asked for her hand in marriage. Everyone rejoiced! Until .........................
The music was very 'soft and lilting' ..... actually made me sleepy after a while. Graphics were old school fantasy. Sound fx well done. Special fx were fantastic! Click on everything is my best advice - lol - I made flowers bloom jusy clicking on a bush!
Casual/Advanced/Hardcore/Custom Difficulties.
HOGs were varied ....... from interactive silhouettes to FRAGS and more ..... there is an alternate Match 3 game if you prefer. I enjoyed the M3 myself! lol Mini Games were quite fun and almost all new and fresh.
You have an interactive map, a task list and the ability to change into your alter-ego (just kidding!). You do have the ability to change characters ..... from the dashing Prince to the sweet Odette and back again.
The CE version appeared to be CE worthy with lots to find and do and after playing the Beta I was absolutely sure this would be a purchase for me ..... CE or SE. After playing this demo, though, my feelings towards this game were much more ...... bleh.
The storyline was true romance at its best. A cast of interesting characters, fun games and the ability to switch characters. Find me preparing for my character's wedding ..... but when you find me ........... WHICH character will I be?????
FYI: The game starts off with the following disclaimer: "This game contains violence and disturbing scenes."
Ok. Well. Not during the demo IMO.
OMG! A bloody, beating heart ............. and we start the investigation 3 days before the murder. It's a dark stormy night. A woman walks along the waterfront. A blood-curdling scream! Blood everywhere! And ...... of course, you are off to solve the mystery of the crime.
Graphics were typical of EAP (Edgar Allen Poe) games, brown. Lots of brown. The music was nice, sound fx ..... meh. Voice overs. Well ........... I wonder if this Dev ran over budget and cut costs at hiring voice actors. IMO, it appeared that the same person was acting out at least 2 people each. Older man/little boy .......... nope ..... didn't work at all. Sigh.
Casual, Advanced, Hard and Custom difficulties.
HOGs and Mini Games had a me a bit confused as to which was which as almost everything I played could have been one or the other and I don't recall a 'skip' button but always a 'hint' button. Either way ..... all very easy peasy.
You find a transportable map, which is redundant in that you ALREADY HAVE THE MAP at the start of the game! You're journal and medical case (it also holds your ID and non-medical stuff) have a home in your Inventory.
CE Bling: In addition to the usual fare of wallpaper, music and replayable games, there are ... * 36 collectible cards (all relating to previous EAP games) * A crystal skull kept securely under a dome. Notes from the game: (Complete the mini-games to gain access to the crystal skull kept under the glass dome). (Collect all the skull cards and complete the corresponding puzzles to activate the crystal skull and learn your destiny.)
Hmmm. Not much there.
I wanted to love this game. A DISCLAIMER!!!!! ooooooooo - expectations of blood, guts, gore and MORE! Hmmmm ........... not. Big disappointment. Unless it's in the game waaaaay beyond the short demo. Short ..... yes. Took me just under an hour and I am NOT the world's fastest player. I like to click on everything and see if birds fly, butterflies butterfly. Well, you get it.
Perfect game for .............. beginners. It's soooooooooooooooooooooo easy. Sadly lacking in the CE Bling department (although that crystal skull/find my destiny WAS tempting) so I would purchase the SE vs the CE. Well .... not ME because it's NOT a purchase for me. But, IF I were to purchase it I would get the SE. So disappointed. Had such high hopes and ................... BAM! Boredom City. For those who can look past it all ..........
It's evening .... a young man is walking along by himself ..... minding his own business ...... when he's attacked by several individuals. Who are they and why did they attack him???? Your character, a detective of the paranormal, has been contacted by Wolfgang Lemann in Munich for help.
Graphics are more old school than some might enjoy. Music was fun. Voice overs were well done and the sound fx were awesome.
Casual, Advanced, Hardcore and Custom difficulties.
Journal for notes and a transportable map. The map seemed a bit confusing (and large ... very large) so I tried to refrain from using it. Just my opinion.
HOGs varied from finding pairs, silhouettes, interactive lists and no alternate game if you prefer. Mini Games were waaay fun and some were waaay hard - lol.
Nice storyline that flows well. I had a great time playing the game because there weren't a lot of 'gadgets' to take away from the game play. I would recommend it for any level of difficulty.
Oh, btw, I loved it so much I purchased the CE. IMO it was definitely CE worthy.
