Maybe it's me - probably is, but I really don't get this game.
The storyline was weak. The cartoon-like graphics made it seem more like children at dress-up and let's play good guys/bad guys than a "real" kingdom in danger.
It's a match 3 game with aspects of an RPG (which I do not play at all). According to the instructions of the game, you make matches of 3 or more to tell the lives of the attacking ants. If you match the same color as the ant you've chosen, more points to you.
I didn't get it. I NEVER lost. And this is supposed to be a game where you're being challenged by the ants. So, wouldn't you assume that sometimes you would lose? Never. Never cleared all the tiles off the game board either.
So, see? I don't get it.
If you want to try out a really boring match 3 game, go for it, but definitely try it before you buy it. Not a purchase for me - it was putting me to sleep.
Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

I played both the CE and the SE versions of this game and my opinion hasn't changed.
I lost interest in this game pretty quickly. I don't know why, really. But, I just couldn't get into it. Nothing really made sense or flowed. There was no continuity to the story and too much going on - a troll that always shows up, a gypsy telling you how brave and pure of heart you are, all sorts of witches threatening world peace, even Medusa shows up but why????? Some ceremony going on but what does it have to do with you? And where did the mirror come from? And what does that stupid troll have to do with anything. These are all things that get a story started, at least with a teaser of info. Here you get nothing.
For all the great dark and creepy graphics and music, this game just didn't do anything for me and I became bored very quickly. It concerned me that I finished the demo with 25 minutes to spare - and that's including stopping (not pausing the game) to play with my puppy for a while. So, don't think the length of the game holds much promise.
Feel free to try it before you buy it but it's definitely not a purchase for this gal.
I don't recommend this game.

Ok, so I never watched the show and this is my first time at the game and I really, really liked it. I didn't much care for all the dialogue and the whodunnit stuff but the HOGs (hidden object games) were so much fun.
The HOGs were list items with some interaction. You have to find the typewriter letters (vowels) to fill in the blanks of the words on the item list. Or, leave them blank for an added challenge - lol. Great fun. Also, find the typewritten ribbon - remember it's a very old typewriter - to fill the hint bar up immediately.
The items started out incredibly easy to find but did get progressively harder. Again, another challenge. You went to different locations (revisited several times) to locate items in relation to the conversation that just took place. Well, some of the items anyway. Others just seemed willy-nilly.
I wish I could have played the whole hour but puppy woke up and needed play time while I was trying to have my play time - lol.
Although not a purchase for me - way too much conversation going on - I got bored with it easily, I recommend this for everyone. Great, great fun game.
Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

Great storyline. Build the temples.
This is a great game for beginners to learn the game of griddlers. Easy instructions. Amazing tutorial all the way through the game. Professor instructs you as well as reading it in the journal. And the end result is almost always a cute picture such as a heart, t-shirt, flower, etc. Colored blocks have no effect on game play as they represent gems.
Very easy for beginners of griddlers, even masters of griddlers will love this game. A possible winner for me.
Happy Gaming!

Norma Shine, an incredible actress ... yeah, yeah, scary threats, police doing nothing (not surprising in my world), detective protecting her, car accident because of ghostie in the road and she's kidnapped. But ...... those SHOES! Did you see them? All green and black shiny patent leather heels - with rounded toes no less (I HATE pointy-toe shoes) - sigh. Exactly what I would wear. I wanted those shoes so badly when I saw them - the game definitely had me at the shoes - LOL.
The 4 modes of difficulty were hysterical as well. Casual, Semi-Casual, Formal and Black Tie. Yeah, I knew this would be an interesting game.
There's the usual journal, inter-active map and a new-fangled device that constantly needs batteries that helps you see "things" that you don't normally see. An "eye" indicating you need to investigate that area.
I thought the hint recharged fairly well, no problems with the few HOGs I encountered. The atmosphere was rather dark and dreary and "blue". It seemed like a lot of blue color was used. Better than pinks and purples but a lot of blue.
The CE extras include the usual wallpapers, concept art, music, etc. as well as a bonus game, strategy guide (very difficult to read and/or use), a secret room, 26 pieces of glass you have to collect (but, in the "collectibles" area of the "extras" there were a number of stands for something. Hmmmm).
Unfortunately, I ran into some bugs and glitches and technical problems that enabled me to play very little of the game. I am going to hope against hope that the developers will be notified and an update will be available soon because this game is mine - I just have to figure out where to find those shoes!
Happy Gaming!

The graphics were awful but it seems this game came out a few years ago and that could be why, don't know. The music is nothing even remotely Caribbean sounding, which I would expect.
The game place is nonsensical. There are no instructions for beginners. You really have to have played before to get it. The items that are "sewn" or "tied" that have to have matches made before they are destroyed have no instruction or even telling you the first time it shows up that "hey, this is what it does". All you do is remove colored tiles. No bonuses for matches of 4 or more.
Boring, not for beginners and the music is inappropriate. Not a purchase nor a recommend.
I don't recommend this game.

The gods are happy, treat the people well. Other gods interfere, ruin the people's happiness. Good gods leave their people in despair to the evil gods. An emissary is sent, by yet another god, to rebuild the nation.
Yes, this is a build-it game but, and I haven't read the reviews, I am assuming it's the first ever of its kind and has been around for many years. At least, the way it played on my computer looked like it. Small screen, couldn't see anything. The writing so small I couldn't even see it with my nose to the screen. No viable instructions.
Why did BFG bring this back out of the vault. It's time to clean the vault out and toss some of these games into the pond.
I don't recommend this game.

I think if you had played the previous games in this series you would probably love this game. As I had not, I had a few problems.
There should be a more detailed tutorial than a woman informing you what makes you more money. Something that, as long as this game appears to be, went on for a few levels at least.
I got through the first level wonderfully and from there it was all downhill. Everything I did to earn an income from the properties and up my prestige points backfired. I know in other build-it type games you use what you've learned and add to what you need to do, rather successfully. Here, I tried to do that and it ended rather drastically. One level taking me 15 minutes to get my prestige points high enough to pass the level.
If I'm playing a relaxed mode (untimed), I also shouldn't have to have stars thrown in my face. If I wanted to earn stars or trophies, I'd have played the challenge or timed or whatever mode.
Definitely not a game for first timers of THIS series unless you've played the other 2 games. I think with the direction and things you learned from them you can be successful at this one. Not a standalone game at all.
I don't recommend this game.

There is a game board that contains groups of various colored squares (quite pretty actually). On the left are 3 black holes. The top shows the color you need to remove from the board, sometimes it will contain a number (for instance a green block will show with a number 3 meaning you must clear 3 green blocks). The middle black hole indicates the NEXT color that you will need to remove from the board (for strategizing). The third black hole is a mystery to me.
Remove the blocks by stringing them together. But, here's the catch (always has to be a catch, right?), the group you string together MUST contain all the colors in that group. For instance, you have a weird combination of pink blocks. If you can't include every single pink block in that combination, don't even try, the board won't count it.
Some blocks look sparkly. Include those in your color group and the board automatically fills up, or you've reached your limit automatically, something. Not explained. There's kind of a clock timer as well. When you fill it up, the game says "LUCID". At some point, you've cleared a level.
At one point, I cleared something important because there were a number of planets circling my screen but didn't understand what it meant. At one point, the "color" choice was dark blue. The configuration on the board had only 1 possible color you could string together and it took up most of the board. A logic problem? No explanation. I started the game from the beginning. Same end result. No hint, no help, nothing. Uninstalled the game.
If there were more instruction given, if there were more help, a tutorial, something CLEAR to explain the game, maybe it would have been more playable. If it was more than just remove these colored blocks, something more entertaining, it would have been more playable. For these reasons, it is not a purchase for me.
If you want to try it and you get past that ridiculous all green area asking for a blue match and do it - PM me or write a review, I'd like too hear how you did it.
I don't recommend this game.

The story line is as confusing as can be. What exactly are we looking for because it seems there are 3 possibilities - a map, pieces of a scepter and/or amulets.
The "King" keeps interrupting the game play to tell you that he''ll inform you later about something you've clicked on. You end up playing as 3 different children, which in itself is confusing.
If this game made more sense it would have probably been a keeper for me but under the circumstances ... no thanks. I will recommend it, however, for those who want to try it out.
I recommend this game!
