...and that was at Level 75. (I'd almost made it through the whole game without finding a non-responsive page!) So, forgetting about my usual complaints about technical problems, I'll say that I really do love this series. The tasks are varied, and it's visually gorgeous -- very imaginative!
This game did offer one kind of new task that I hate, though -- finding stuff in what is basically just darkness (we get a small circle of light.) That may just be my own personal bugbear, though.
Since the Hiddenverse plots really don't matter, and rarely seem logical time-wise, I'd recommend starting with this particular Hiddenverse game if you want to try the series, since it behaves itself close to 100% of the time.

I have a love/hate relationship with these Hiddenverse games. When they work, they are lots of fun -- inventive and visually pleasing. (That's why I keep trying more games in this series.) However, they don't always work. So far, I've tried 4 of the Hiddenverse series, and each one presented challenges that required me to sign out of the game, then re-sign in, in order to get the page to work. This game is a brand-new low, however, since it froze completely on the 3rd page -- so completely that even the "X" wouldn't let me out. (I had to CONT+ALT+DEL 4 times before I could escape.) So no, I don't recommend this game. (My sys is Win 11.)

There are SO MANY fun factors to this company's games: most notably, they give us beautifully illustrated and creative items for the match-ups, and variations on the traditional match-3 genre. There is a beautiful, haunting quality to the artwork and game play that I find quite addictive and (almost) makes me forget the horrible parts. I don't want to write a term paper here, so here are the major issues I've found: 1. There is cockamamie "logic" when you have to wade through dozens of random objects to find "items that compose other items," such as a sand pile + a clock (I guess to make an hourglass?), or a cobra + a long-necked bottle (!) (to make a potion?); or a bee + flowers (to make honey.) The logic looks fine when written out like that, but when you try to find the item you need, there are just so many items to weed through, and the "logic" is not plain. 2. What they DESPERATELY NEED in this game is the option to SKIP A MINI-GAME. 3. Another problem is very, very, very poor English. Example: there are about 10 mini-tasks at each level, and they are numbered 1 2 3 4 6 7 8 9 . Never a 5!!! ACK! And they tell us to "amend" a window instead of "mend" it. (Yes, I realize that sounds picky, but there are just so many errors that it would take me hours to bring up all the different kinds.) And... 4. worst of all, sometimes the game freezes up (it's the game, not my computer), and I have to exit it and re-open it to get the page to work. 5. The plots are crazy-silly, too. But...they're trying. Like I said, in some ways I love this game and its cousins, but at other times it makes me want to just stop playing. I think that this could be a great game if it were more carefully constructed. Do I recommend it? Arrgghhh..... I don't know what to say!

I LOVE all the Clutter games! Once I start one, it's almost impossible for me to stop --- ackkk! And they keep getting better with each new version. Joe and his people have become almost like friends because there is always a touch of intimacy in the story lines. If I have any complaint about Clutter VI, it would be that maybe it would also be nice if there were always an option for NO time limits on every level. Yes, I realize we can always replay or skip ahead past a board we don't like, but it might also be fun to just keep trying the same board to see how long it takes us to finally get it! So that's just a thought... Anyway, the Clutter games are in a class by themselves, and I love them!

The Big City Adventures are truly the Gold Standard of Hidden Object games! Game play is always smooth, options are appropriate, the objects are hidden fairly, the scenes are always well-lit, there are cultural and historical facts given for each scene, a whole lot of scenes to play in order to complete the whole game. These games are, by far, the best HOGs ever! I wish they could come out with a new one even more often. :-)

Gorgeous graphics! Fun, season-appropriate, logical storyline (with good English); good mix of easily-found items along with harder ones, but there are adequate hints as well as helpful silhouettes when needed; flawless game play.
I spent about 5 hours on this game in total. I loved it!
(Please note that I play without sound or music, so I can't comment on those.)
This is, by far, the best Halloween-themed game I've ever played!

I enjoy paying HOG games even when they seem to be aimed at a young(er) audience. This game, however, although it seemed to be somewhat childish in its premise, proved to be frustrating beyond anything a child should have to deal with. Some of the instructions were unclear or not there altogether, and some of the actions didn't work the way they were supposed to. After playing for close to an hour, I gave up and sent this to the trash.
I don't recommend this game.

The storyline is kind of dumb and doesn't always flow smoothly or logically, but I don't care and never do when it comes to HOG games. I'm looking for fun finding hidden objects and also solving the mini-puzzles as long as they're not too hard. The artwork in this game was nice and clear, and the hidden objects were hidden fairly - not the kind that make you squint and go crazy trying to find them! The jigsaw puzzles between HOG scenes were interesting, too - some were in b+w and changed to color as the pieces were placed correctly, and some started in color and reverted to b+w. As I said, it was a fun game, and a pleasant couple of hours! My only big complaint is that after my trial hour was up and I decided to buy the game, when I came back to the game, it started me out at the very beginning again (although at least the "find" lists had changed.) That was very annoying, but that's my only big complaint.

All the Clutter games are fun, but this one is my favorite so far, since it is infinitely configurable. These Clutter games are similar to Hidden Object Games in a way, since they require "eagle eyes," but I find these more fun, since I don't have to think about characters or plotline, etc. I can't wait (ever!) for the latest "Clutter" game to come out!

Wonderful, relaxing game with beautiful graphics. I think it's also good for keeping my ol' brain in shape, since it requires making sense of various "spider web" patterns. I really love this game. My only negative is very minor, in that that this version doesn't have an instant "smasher" to get rid of a pesky letter that you just aren't having luck with. (This kind of "smasher" IS available in their next version of this game, Rainbow Web III, which is also wonderful!)
