You play American Journalist Chelsea Connor who investigates the details of her father's unexplained death.
Minus all the bells and whistles of modern day games, this is a Classic point and click Adventure Hidden Object Game with hidden object scenes, puzzles and realistic 3-dimensional artwork. Mysterious, intriguing story line quickly captures your attention.
I like and purchased all four of City Interactive's Chronicles of Mystery games and researched their release dates for your information should you be interested in playing in order of their release date. 1. CM-The Scorpio Ritual - 11-14-2008 2. CM-The Tree of Life - 12-10-2009 3. CM-Legend of the Sacred Treasure - 11-12-2010 4. CM-Secret of the Lost Kingdom - 4-21-2011
If you are a Gamer who appreciates an excellent plot as well as quality older-style gaming and the fact that not all games fit into our little box of criteria, you will enjoy a positive play experience. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Finished demo and still undecided whether to purchase only due to small objects within HO scenes. A good opening scene and mysterious story line always capture the attention and give an edge to making a game purchase --especially when the music and background sounds all fit together so well. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
An old woman tricks Melissa into wearing a cursed ring that makes her go into an everlasting sleep. Use magical potions and spells to save her from the curse!
The varied and very opposite reviews got me to wondering and so I played the demo version and was pleasantly surprised.
You are a newly wed and a powerful ring has placed your wife under a sleeping spell. Your quest is to investigate Strawsbrough Town and lift this curse.
Game moves quickly, art work and graphics are crisp, clear with special skill and detail in drawing faces. They are so well done! Enjoy! - Mama Mia -
A prequel? How creative! Exciting opening scene, you must decide on an action. Does it get better? You betcha! Twisted Lands: Origin is a Standard Edition which has a Journal with Tasks, Map, Notes, HO scenes, extravagant Artwork and an above average story line--all of which are crisp and clear! What appeals most, is the fast pace especially moving through the Hidden Object scenes that are do-able! Immediate purchase for this gal --just when I vowed not to -- for the upteenth time. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
A Big Fish "Thank You" to Developers at Orneon--Producer Sergey Bigas, Denis, Natalia and all the Staff and Support.
A warm and friendly Southern "Y'all are awesome"!
Won't re-hash other reviews and just wanted to write a few observations i.e. how much I appreciate the Game's LARGE Journal. Yay! No squinting! The Artwork is rich, vibrant, crisp and my computer screen just came to life!
Game started with something to do right off-and it wasn't about me around looking for a key to gain access to something--later on in the game, yes, but not right away!
There is V-A-R-I-E-T-Y too with fun, clear, different puzzles. I don't even care if they're not the most challenging. Have taxed my brain with hundreds of games and I just wanted to have fun so this game is perfect and a fresh breath of air! Immediate purchase! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Played the demo until I could get the little bear his drum. Didn't want to leave him without his toy.
Would rather Beta-Test and leave feedback, however, as other reviewers stated--"been there, done that" in terms of dark story line and giving chase for whatever the reason.
Please don't get me wrong--the artwork is breath taking and a lot, a lot of work went into this game by Top Evidence Developers--however, a game is supposed to be fun, maybe creative, has a little something that grabs your attention. This game just did not do any of that for me.
I believe the game appears cumbersome is that this game is meant to be played rather slowly and comfortably which, by the junk pile hidden object scenes and other cluttered scenes, is the only way the game can be played.
I turned down the owl/background noises and the sounds kinda then blended together rather well.
All in all--If there weren't so many other games like this and also if the hidden object and other scenes were cleaned up, the game would merit more stars. Enjoy! - Mama Mia -
An older fashioned, rather busy Hidden Object Adventure Game and minimum hand holding. Don't let the slow piano tempo fool you. Lengthy, interesting and peppered with a generous amount of HO scenes, puzzles, unique mini-games.
Fairly complicated in terms of a steady amount of objects to find and use but stay with this one BF Gamers. Like jumping into a suspenseful, interactive book. A must-have for Collectors. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
What an adventure! Not a fan of dark and dreary, yet, definitely a fan of genius! Boo for the bad reviews! This game has it all and a STANDING OVATION BRAVO to Lazy Turtle Games who developed and built-in the fantastic hidden object challenges, strategy guide, cut-scenes, voice overs, puzzles, story line. art work and a superb grand finale!
A lengthy game, played 3x's to get all Achievements! Yay!
Big Fish Gamers, keep those awesome reviews and "current favorites" coming! Love to read them and try different games! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Wow! Game deserves more than a few stars! Personal preference is irrelevant in reviewing and not all games are alike, thank goodness!!
However, I am a stickler for accurate spelling and proper use of the English language and cringe at errors! How difficult is it to edit for these types of mistakes--even one tiny error? I am certainly available to Beta Test for BFG Games!! ^_^
GAME MERITS -Every scene is crisp and rich with clarity, definition and color. Suburban Mysteries proves that games don't have to be dark and dreary to portray a real sense of foreboding and pending doom. -Hidden object scenes are appropriate. Items gathered are used quickly and, therefore, no map is needed. Gamer moves rapidly with no open-range wandering. -Plot develops. Gamer is kept interested and taken through many doors, scenes and experiences. -Finally no magnifying glass, squinting or adjusting needed. -Cut-scenes switch to cartoons that help further the plot more extensively--very cool. -HO scenes stay accessible as needed objects can still be picked up after completing the hidden object scenes--something different.
I don't believe Developers should be criticized for thinking outside the box and, ultimately, designing and creating a terrific game in light of and in spite of all the heavy-hitter competition. JOB WELL DONE!! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
