Not a HOG per se, this awesome and endearing game has it all from hidden objects to puzzles with the entire game relying on logic and following clues.
BFG offers variety to us members and Tearstone is well worth the CE price in length and quality gameplay experience. Trashing this little masterpiece just because it's not specifically a hidden-object game is undeserved as BFG has more HOG's than any other genre game offered.
Tearstone demo provides a true sample of the game--unique. You just cannot read into this game and dissect it as any other--there's no voice overs and, thankfully, no morphing objects. Gamers must allow the game to be played as the Developers wrote it and simply go with the flow. Allow yourself to be swept away with their magic, artwork, puzzles, games and observe the small clues purposely left in your path--to complete your journey.
The only "warning" I would suggest is that logic, common sense and an aura of calm and relaxation goes along with the game. You will be charmed and know that you have been touched by "Tearstone" upon completion.
Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
I recommend this game!

Based on demo only and may purchase CE during one of BFG's awesome sales. CE has lots of bonus content, however, this newest ERS game demo appears rather mediocre in comparison to their many success story games i.e. "Grim Facade, Haunted Legends, Puppett Show, Redemption Cemetery, Shadow Wolf Mysteries".
One opening cut scene, the "villain" attempts to throw a "sack" into the ocean, but it lands in a boat. Okay, so now I don't feel like chasing this guy all through the game and just want to pounce on him and throttle him when I see what is inside the sack.
Everything about this game seems watered down with nothing notable to hold my interest. Maybe it's me and I am simply accustomed to ERS greatness. Recommend to wait on standard version game for beginners or, like me, to add to your ERS Collection. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
I recommend this game!

Ah, yes, game starts out as any other--a missing loved one. Ho-hum! Well, hang in there because if you like to embrace adventure, this game is filled with strange lands and stranger beings,HO's and mini-puzzles. I don't know why anyone would complain about the music as it was awesome with a mixture of superior musical compositions.
This game truly has raw talent and mind-blowing artists at work. Game just didn't have proper translation or punctuation of the English language which is my pet peeve. Did not want to take away from my overall rating review, however, deserves mention to game developers that the finished product is very important and does make the difference between a good game and a great game!
Mythical and mystical creatures that are artwork fixtures in other games literally come to life in "Sister's Secrecy-Arcanum Bloodlines"..
There are some quirks mentioned by other reviewers--such as having to click exactly on an object, however, there are no mis-click penalties.
Mini-puzzles and HO scenes can be replayed for faster times and to earn the max of 3 coins each scene. Coins are then used to purchase at end of game for music and sketches--great idea. Each game scene has 2 purple flowers to click and add coins to your coin collection as well as finishing puzzels or HO's within a certain time frame adds 1-3 coins to your collection--just all part of fun and added dimensions to gameplay enjoyment. My total was 160 coins in all but one of the puzzles I was unable to better my time--the cross with the colored marbles--but I'll work on it.
This game isn't about time, yet, gamer can be challenged to improve hidden object scenes and mini-puzzles solution times. There is so much to do in this game--it's definitely packed with fun and interesting exploration.
P.S. Wished I had purchased the Collector's Edition!
Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Came back to replay and review this super fun and very funny (f you read the game notes therein) truly great older game--which was and still is--ahead of it's time.
MCF set a new direction and helped change the face of playing mindless computer games as well as opened new doors for other Game Developers to follow in their footsteps.
With that said and done, here is the chronological order:
Mystery Case Files:
1. Huntsville
2. Prime Suspects
3. Ravenhearst
4. Madame Fate'
5. Return to Ravenhearst
6. Dire Grove
7. 13th Skull
8. Escape from Ravenhearst
9. Shadow Lake

"We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto!" Witches and Magic and Creatures, oh my!
Gi Games have poured their hearts and souls into this game! Audio, video, sound effects and artwork are all stunning and immediately captivate the senses. Not the usual hidden object scenes, player had to find ten or so objects in a scene, but, it is the puzzles and more puzzles that require gamers to put on their thinking caps. Humbly, this so-called "expert" had to skip a few puzzles and refer to the Walkthrough!
Am I an expert gamer? Nevermore!
Not the game for you if you want to breeze through and simply "follow the yellow-brick road".
Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
P.S. I cannot agree with MCF "Shadow Lake" winning BFG Game of the YEAR especially since it didn't come out until the end of the Year and BFG offers a free gift item with purchase. Rather--Mystery Trackers--Four Aces-Yes!!

You gotta love sassy, brave and beautiful Agent Nicole Bonnet in this Hidden Object/Adventure Murder Mystery sequel. May be a good intro for hog players who really like adventure games combined with hidden object scenes in their gaming experience. This is the game to try and then, maybe, try the other Art of Murder Adventure Games in this series. Yes, the AOM series can be quite challenging. I definitely suggest Gamers try it and follow the Walkthroughs when needed or from start to finish--they are all that awesome to play! Graphics are stunning and the story lines are intriguing and immersive.
Purchased all AOM Mystery Murder sequels:
AOM: FBI Confidential,
AOM: Hunt for the Puppeteer
AOM:Secret Files
Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Like "Rocky" and "The Godfather", it's impossible to continue a saga without making changes, otherwise it's pretty boring.
The 3rd in the Shadow Wolf Mysteries series, our Detective is called to Paris because the little girl whose parents were werewolves has grown up and, sadly, it seems the "Curse" still follows her. Thank goodness, the Detective is available! At no time, does the player feel a sense of fear or foreboding because our Detective is that good in fighting werewolves.
This is the 1st game I have played where the CE Bonus Play seems to be longer or as long as the Standard gameplay and I realized that the scenes change rapidly and we don't visit the same areas over and over again, therefore, gamers are writing the game is too short but this isn't true if one plays on Expert Level and takes their time to stop and enjoy the game which has awesome and beautifully written graphics and artwork.
As a long-time BFG Member, I typically only purchase the CE editions of games that have the Bonus Play and simply wait until they go on sale--of which BFG has plenty of awesome sales! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
I recommend this game!

Purchased and played the CE and definitely wanted to leave a high rated review. The Beast of Lycan Isle is a step in a new direction mixing present day with old folklore with science fiction---and done with excellence.
Puzzles are fun and not mind-bending so you can get on with the task of finding Luna's friend in a very strange land--Lycan isle!! Colorful, crisp, intriguing, you explore Lycan Isle with the help of a map that I referred to time and again while exploring the island. Everything I like in a game is here as well as a game fun enough to replay!

Totally immersive! Breathtaking artwork and multiple voice overs throughout gameplay. You are Owen and have the help of the Detective since your daughter, Olivia has gone missing.
You have 30 days. There's a serial killer who kidnaps victims, holds them alive for 30 days and then kills and multilates. Owen has not seen his daughter and fears the Lonely Hearts Killer may have kidnapped her as well.
Music is enchanting, non-intrusive and literally holds you fixated in place during gameplay without distraction.
Wow! If you're looking for a perfect game, Magicindie Developers' 2nd installment of Brink of Consciousness has raised the bar!!
Purchasing Collector's Edition--not making the same mistake twice as I always regretted not purchasing CE on previous game-- Brink of Consciousness: Doran Gray Syndrome.
Enjoy! - Mama Mia -

Like walking into a dream, thoroughly enjoyed the vibrant colors and smooth gameplay. Purchased game straightaway! While game is downloading, wanted to stop by and say hello and job well done to developers as well as BFG for picking up this one! How lovely to open your minds and allow such unique creativity flow rather than following the morbid masses.
Game can be enjoyed by children of ALL ages!
