With fewer good games to select, turning to older and better here on BFG. It's not that there's too little games being offered, it's too little interesting and/or challenging being offered.
The Signs of Prophecy is largely straightforward with an unique storyline that's not been done and re-done. Excellent visuals with morphing objects, tarot cards and chimeras to locate throughout games. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Superior in every way, John Newcomer and The Living Dead Team developers have etched a piece of history in this well presented and extensively researched story game surrounding the untimely death of a young Harry Houdini.
Challenging do-able puzzles, collecting clovers as well as ravens to use as hints. Gamers extensively interact with Mrs. Houdini, Alfred Conan Doyle and other interesting and some nefarious characters of the past.
With over 200 reviews, gamers are certainly well informed that the Harry Houdini story and the Haunted Houdini game will live on through the ages. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Looking for a great game? It's never too late to go back to this fantastic 2010 Vast Studios game and purchase here on BFG.
Storyline is so intricately and masterfully written; gamers are certain a vampire or other evil entity is going to rush out at any time to strike you, the stagehand of a travelling and successful opera troupe. Caught up in a town of some unspoken mystery, horror and
Lovers of both adventure style and hidden object games are in for a special treat as there's plenty of challenging fun for all. Hint button is helpful for the hidden object scenes and the journal only will give gamers clues to follow but that's it. Very little hand holding. Puzzles are sophisticated, yet, do-able and can compare to the popular MCF series.
Hands down, Vast Studios is one of my favorite Developers--Hamid Abbassi, Derek Stead, etc. Outstanding!
Very well presented storyline of an evil witch/spirit/entity and a mother protecting her daughter. Although similar stories abound of evil seeking youth as the nectar of immortality, Mystery Tales unfolds a story with a twist in that evil has affected people in the real world and gamers venturing into the twilight world to release the entity hold.
Numerous challenging puzzles and great visuals await gamers. Collectibles are gathered throughout gameplay are added in the bonus content as well as a bonus play segment. Found the lengthy bonus gameplay surprisingly more challenging as the regular content.
Appreciated the vibrant colors, cut scenes, musical score and putting my brain to work. As usual, Mystery Tales will satisfy gaming expectations. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Yikes! If you have never played a true adventure game or, better yet, a Nancy Drew adventure game, this is not the one to make a go of it for the first time. There are so many other ND games that are far, far better as I am a ND fan for sure. I'll list a few really good oldies that are truly awesome!
Game is choppy with a lot of running back and forth even with the built-in interactive map. I was going in circles and bogged down several times. Plot? Well, there really wasn't one when gamers have to read along during gameplay to try and make sense of who are the players and what's their position. There's always a bad guy or gal and one fun aspect is in trying to figure it out and/or a final showdown.
Sadly, the final show down was a slow down and the ending truly went flat after all was said and done. I was ahead of myself with some puzzles and had to circle around too many times. Not to compare, however, in previous games, Nancy had side jobs to do that were fun in order to earn extra money. There were just two games and they were both rather time consuming and boring. Dislike any card games in which I have to wait on two other computer hands to play through. Seriously?
Although the game topic focused on aliens and the Annunaki--of which I am usually interested, there was simply no fun in the game, no mystery and zero intrigue.
The positive? Puzzles are hair pullers and I got through them.
A few ND gems: ND-The Phantom of Venice ND-Danger by Design ND-Legend of he Crystal Skull
Not the best Riddles of Fate although still one to be remembered. Challenge was almost nil for veteran gamers, however, one to be enjoyed by all ages.
Almost reminiscent of the older and much loved Japanese animation cartoons. Artwork, visuals, voice overs were very good and I purchased game on a special buy one get one.
Surprisingly, the bonus game was more challenging and I was disappointed that collecting the solitaire cards did not mean being able to play a solitaire game after completion.
Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
I recommend this game!

The Torment of Mont Triste Collector's Edition
No one dares fall asleep in the village of Mont Triste... for when sleep arrives, so does the mysterious Lord of Nightmares.

No Torment Here Just Puzzles and Mini-Games Galore!
Completed 2013 game plus bonus. Thanks to Sulus Games who brings an enjoyable hidden object with spectacular artwork and a non-intrusive, very soothing musical score.
At first, gamers may scorn the almost childish story line, however, sit back, relax and have fun as this is the goal. No shock treatment or horror here as I've grown so weary of late and found this gem in my BFG game collection. Humor is interwoven and most assuredly this game is a labor of love from the purest of hearts.
Puzzles and mini-games were challenging so don't give in to that skip button! I always try to recommend very good older games so check my reviews as they're written following game completion and not for popularity. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
A 2012 game I just completed that was enjoyable then and again into 2016. Should have purchased the CE and, unfortunately no other Haunted Past sequels followed.
Passing between the ghostly and living realms, you have a task at hand that requires use of your special gift. To help resolve this very difficult situation, it is necessary to hide needed items in the ghostly realm and recapture them in the living realm. The truly awesome part of all this is the artwork presented of both realms.
Game was shorter than present day, however, the storyline was interesting and often times longer games tend to drag on unless they're exceptional which is rare.
A true HOPA gem that deserves more than five stars!
Very briefly, you grew up an orphan and went on to become a child psychologist teaching in Kronville. With the recent disappearances of multiple children, you are attempting to gain the confidence of a young student who has behavior problems.
Wow! Don't allow the seemingly drab and slow-paced beginning dissuade gamers from continuing. Story and characters fully develop and dove tail into an immersive, pleasant and surprisingly cohesive hidden object adventure. Numerous, creative mini-games, puzzles and hidden object scenes will enthrall gamers to dust off the sadly unused thinking caps. Leans more toward adventure with emphasis on actual gaming than chasing pretty butterflies.
No sleight of hand here with dull morphing objects and collectibles, the artwork is superb, the music keeps you right on the edge of your chair which is exactly where this game accomplishes from beginning to end.
Congratulations, developers! Few and far between are there games as superior as this to grace the BFG site. As a veteran and long time gamer, your artwork, graphics, music, puzzles, hidden objects, voice-overs, cut-scenes, story line all superbly rendered. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Don't you just love to beep the horn with someone under the hood? Sorry, Inspector Yuri.
Who doesn't enjoy and appreciate the Danse Macabre series with great music, superb artwork and a dash of mystery? Of course, with any truly great masterpiece, the original Danse Macabre cannot be improved and gamers must suffice to play the beautifully rendered sequels.
An avid fan of the Collectors Editions, there are no morphing objects, yet, we can ring in the New Year by collecting beautifully drawn bells throughout. Replay HOPS to attain gold on each for an Achievement award. Appreciate EIPIX including these in all of their CE games. Also, gamers can enjoy a Match-3 following game/bonus game completion. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
