I truly enjoyed this game. Although it did not have achievements or morphing objects, I found myself drawn to the pleasure of being immersed in this game. Storyline was reasonable. Music was fabulous. HOGs were fun in that there was usually at least one object hidden away. The artwork was enjoyable. This is a game that if one has some experience you can play as an SE. Even though I bought the CE, I never needed to consult the SG at all. The map is VERY helpful although it's not a jump map. I tended to overthink this game, so if you have alot of experience, back off and you will find what you need. Great flow and again, really enjoyed the characters, the music and the overall game play. A nice escape. The bonus chapter is nice but not necessary for a great game experience.
I recommend this game!

This is such a great game, although one has to play it quite awhile before you get into the "meat of the story" and care enough to keep going.Little guessing about going back and forth. It's a great SE. Graphics are a bit computer appearing but not bad. Best part is the map will jump you anywhere. There is no need for an SG and it's great because the map tells you if there's a morphing object in a location that you might have missed. Objects obtained from HOGS are used fairly soon although the journal helps a lot with some later needed clues. . The music is not great but not obnoxious. Nice HOG mixes of search as well as put the object in the right place. Also has achievements such as find 40 morphing objects which the map tells you there's one in that location if you've missed one. Not a lot of puzzles but they're decent. Tend to be on the "arcade side" which is not my preference but not too tough. The later stages of the game are the most fun so don't get put off by the early stuff. A great buy for an SE and well worth the value of those coupons! Has nice longevity for those who want to play a bit after work to "decompress." Very enjoyable.
I recommend this game!

I am really enjoying this game. The music alone is worth the price. Lots of instrumental including guitar and strings and no driving beats. Thoughtful and very fitting to the tone of the game. The HOGS are pretty straightforward, requires one to question your thoughts when things aren't working. Puzzles are few, but not too hard but not too simple. For experienced gamers might be too easy but not too simple either for those who want to relax but not be "dumbed down." One can work his/her way thru what comes next without a SG with logic which adds to the fun and the hint guide is good. Worth the price of a SG since one doesn't have to hop into a blog walkthrough to break up the flow. A nice game. The storyline is good enough to keep one motivated to keep playing. You want to help the main character. Much to identify with. Paranormal but not creepy. I like. Definitely worth a game coupon if not a credit.,
I recommend this game!

This review is based on the demo only. Took me a bit to "get into" this game as it had some anachronistic problems for me. (Why are these games always set in the past, but young children have overly developed abilities to do stuff?) I was able to play without hints/strategy guide and I am one who plays for relaxation. Plot was engaging. At the end of the demo I was engaged enough to want to know what happened. The music is good but I didn't like the sudden changes in music. I find the musical score very much a part of the game and it was somewhat jarring to have the music stop and then some other type of music suddenly come in. The HOS scenes were not top notch although it was nice to have an option to play match 3. Overall, an enjoyable game but not challenging enough for experienced players to pay for CE. Will probably buy at SE price as the game is laid out logically enough to not really need map or SG. Did love the purring of the cat in the pub. Nice touch.
I recommend this game!

I have played all the Margrave games and for me, they are a delight. Very interactive. There's so much going on in this one and I like that she talks as I enjoy her accent and hearing her thoughts. I learned from the earlier series, if you don't repeat mistakes her voiceover is not annoying. Of the series, this game is the best as she interacts with a bunch of other characters she meets along the way. There are more puzzles than HOs which is my preference although the HOs are nicely done and always seem to have that last item that is hard to find. The puzzles start out easy then get harder. so don't base your decision on the demo. The map is a bit difficult to use. Still haven't found out how to use it best but that may be just me. The music, especially at the beginning is as good as the opening of the game before and is not detracting during the game. I really like that there are so many ways to approach the game. Definitely worth the price as one can play it more than once for sure and still have a good time.
I recommend this game!

This game was fun. I'm always a bit wary of adventure games as I often find myself frustrated at trying to find what to do next. Not so with this game. In some ways it's kind of a "hybrid". Adventure in style but with lots of help and pretty linear. Very few HOG scenes and those that were, were fragments that were used on the scene. As previous reviewers have mentioned the game is short although the puzzles, while familiar are challenging and if you don't skip them, the game is not so short. The game is very much puzzle driven. I didn't mind the cartoonish graphics as they are consistent and well drawn and fit in with the nebulous character of the spirits one meets along the way. Also the storyline broadens a bit to add some extra incentive. Not tons of motivation to achieve the goal but more than at first blush. The achievements did lend an extra element of fun. You don't need a map or a strategy guide as the hint button tells you exactly what to do next if you're really stuck. It really is about the puzzles. Nice blending of puzzles into a plot. No need for walkthroughs, minimal back and forth. Key actually is to not overthink this one! Very relaxing but not boring. I recommend this game.

This is a really great game. I'm not sure what the chemistry is that makes one game click and another not, but this one does. I am in the "intermediate" category in terms of skill. Have been slow to move to games that are not collectors editions without strategy guides as I hate having to go back and forth to walkthroughs. Also I am not a fan of games that make one go "back and forth, back and forth." In this game however, the back and forth is an integral part of the game. And there's a map to jog one's memory when you're stuck. Check your inventory and you're on your way. The HOG scenes are not too easy and not too many, very nicely done without incongruous items (like hot dogs or doughnuts in a cemetery) in the scene. Puzzles not hard but not super easy. Storyline is intriguing and I hadn't played the preceding game but found this game was fun and understandable without that. Great game and definitely worth the price/coupon of an SE Makes me want to check out the game that it's supposed to provide storyline to precede. Thumbs up, including the music.
I recommend this game!

Just finished the demo and had to buy the game. As a "shrink" in real life, this was too good to pass up. I loved the symbolic nature of the journey which gives credence to the story line. Things don't have to be totally realistic. Gives it an "otherworld" sort of feature but no occult stuff. Great storyline. Really sweet graphics. The voiceovers are very clear, the music isn't such that you have to shut it off ( too bad so many games cause players to do that as musical scores create such ambiance). I really like the map which lets you travel from one site to another quickly when you have found something to use instead of all that back and forth, and the frustration of trying to remember where you saw what. The HOG scenes are not overly cluttered. The game logic is clear but not simplistic. One does have to think, but it's not frustrating.
Overall, very nicely done and it pulls one into the story such that you want to find out what happened, just like a good mystery! Nicely done. Already, this is one of my fav's.

I know many reviews have raved about this game so I won't repeat their details, other than to say this is a really fun game. No darkness. Challenging without being so hard you have to check the SG just to make a move. The artwork is fantastic. I would just add that, at first the HOG scenes seem "overwhelming" but once you relax and let your eye do what you have done in many games, they are actually quite reasonable. Puzzles are fun and like most everyone else has said, It's fun to have the "helpful elf" at one's side. The map is very helpful too but don't be afraid to do your own thing out of order. No penalty for using your own brain which is what makes it fun. There's a lot of intuition in this game to guide you on what to do next. Great game. Nicely done and long enough it you don't cheat too often to be well worth the price. I will definitely play this one again which is always an indicator of a "buy" for me.

I almost skipped this one given the end of month, trying to get the most of my points, etc. The game however is worth the price especially as a special and I paid more at my local theater recently to see a movie, for perspective. I know many are turned off by anything that suggests of the "occult" but there is little "black " or satanic here. More mysticism than darkness and the usual motivation of human greed. Nice storyline, believable. Great graphics, music is not obtrusive. Puzzles and HOGS are average. Not too much backtracking which I find really annoying. There is a logical flow to what you find and the use of "real life" people and their distress adds to the motivation of the game. The characters do not appear robotic which I appreciate. Nice job and I'm glad I bought it, even at the end of the month. Very entertaining and fun to play. I didn't get to finish it today, but am glad to have it for the weekend. Thumbs up!
I recommend this game!
