I agree with the other positive reviewers. (see their reviews for story details) The flow to the story is really good and your character behaves logically so the tasks you do make sense. True, you have to feed your helpers to use them but if you pay attention you are cued on where to go to do that. I thought the collectibles were not that obvious and appreciated there wasn't so much other stuff going on that I couldn't concentrate on the story. You have to be a bit forgiving with the graphics and voiceovers. Not everyone's cup of tea but I found it engrossing and fun.

I thought this game was fun. Check the other reviewers for full details of the workings of the game. The storyline is fun. Puzzles were pretty easy but if one is honest and doesn't have a lot of hints there was some challenge to figuring out what to do next. Collectibles were not easily spotted although it really helped that the map would tell you if something was there you hadn't found. I like paranormal themes and have enjoyed this series.
What a great game. This review is based only on the demo. Very brief synopsis: you are a detective called to assist a town, where a revengeful pirate is murdering the townspeople but you don't know why. The sheriff, a woman, is missing. A young man is selling amulets which are the only protection against the pirate. You have one, although it's broken. Is he trustworthy? Great storyline. The scenes are nicely drawn. The tasks are intelligent. I played without the commenting hints about tasks and there was enough choice about what to do next to make it a little harder. Hops were good. Games were relatively easy but not mindnumbing. I am horrible at morphing objects but enjoyed finding the fish (which were not easy to see) and the objects which added a degree of difficulty without detracting from the storyline. A really fun game.
I have really enjoyed the MCF series, some more than others. This one was really fun. I was so caught up in the story that time flew by. The hops were really well done. Some nice nuanced twists so even though they weren't junk piles, some items were not easy to find. A nice challenge. The music contributed to atmosphere. The storyline was captivating and I easily suspended my disbelief. The tasks were realistic and contributed to progess in the game without feeling like, do this , do that without meaning. I like puzzles with multiple layers which was present in this game. The bonus chapter blended nicely so you really get a lot for the price. I will play this one again.

I really enjoy a good puzzle game especially when it has a storyline where the solving of a puzzle leads to some purpose. This game is all about that. This was fun. There are no HOPS , no morphing objects, just puzzles. You agree to be locked in a mansion and the only way out is to find the 13 keys. There are some redundancies that may bore some but there is an element of perseverance that is part of the game.Things get harder as you go. I enjoyed it. I am not good at keeping track of direction and experienced some frustration with finding my way and the map isn't the usual map, in that you can only go to places where you found a key. So at one point I was frustrated but that 's part of the puzzle. This was fun and well worth the cost of a standard game.
This review is based on the demo only. Please see other reviews for details of the game. There were parts of the game I liked. Even though the storyline is not the most original, there were elements that were different, such as the stone lions that I was curious about. The pace was generally good, bogged down a bit but picked up. You use items fairly quickly after you find them which keeps the pace going. You don't throw away your axe. LOL The graphics are okay although dark and the characters are a bit wooden. The HOP scenes were good, not too easy. Puzzles themselves were very easy. A lot of matching and putting puzzle pieces together which I don't find challenging at all. I am not good at morphing objects and as one reviewer noted they are easy to find if you remember to pay attention. A bit mechanically stiff. I had to click on them right as they morphed to get "credit". Music is a big part of a game for me and the music on this one was more annoying than dramatic. I too could not figure out the coins. I would wait for SE version of this one if you are a fan of the series. .

It must be summer as I was surprised there were only twenty some reviews. This is a really great game. I have been playing for many years and it has been a long time since I have enjoyed a game so much. So seasoned gamers, check this one out!. You can catch the description of the storyline from earlier reviewers who do an amazing job of giving you the details of the game. If you have played the games involving these detectives, you get the treat of having the trio of detectives all in one game which is really fun. The storyline is credible, the tasks reasonable (you use your screwdriver multiple times instead of throwing it away!) The hops are challenging and unique. Some of the games are challenging as well in that they question your assumptions on the rules. The music fit nicely and the pace was great. You can play this one more than once and still have fun. My vote for game of the year.

For the info on game play, please check earlier reviews. I too almost didn't check this one out as the "sample" didn't seem any different than many of the games offered recently. We have seen this theme, storyline, many times. But I do like psychological themes without being too morbid so I gave this one a try and I'm glad I did.. The chemistry of this game was good. It had a really great flow and I was entertained which is what I was looking for. Not too hard, but not not a cake walk and engaging. I really liked the HOPs, they were not just lists but requiring identifying aspects of an object. The characters were intriguing and developed enough to care about reasonably. I liked that the collectibles/morphing obects/puzzle pieces were not too easy but didn't distract from the flow of the game so I didn't feel I had to sacrifice game flow for achievement. Well done.

This review is based on the demo only. This game is the third installment of the saga of the 9 worlds series. Your "team" of 4 which is nicely reviewed in the opening, is called upon to retrieve the fragments of a horn which can summon "the Wild Hunt" although this is not immediately clear. In the demo, the huntress journeys to get more information and learns she has to find the horn pieces. The storyline is rich in mythology and the tasks are consistent with that. There is plenty of explanation along the way of what is driving the hunt. Some might find it boring. Others might find it helpful to understand the motivation. There is a lot of interspersed information about North mythology although it is woven well in the story. The character is consistently having to "prove" herself in order to move forward. It's nicely done and consistent. The visuals and sound are in keeping with the tone of the story. If you like this kind of tale, it's great. You can get totally enveloped and the tasks make sense. (No zipper pulls with paper clips, making ladders, LOL) The map is very helpful. I agree with a previous reviewer, the bear puzzle needed more instructions but overall the puzzles were good and a decent challenge and worked well with the storyline. I recommend you play the demo and see if it works for you. I liked it as it really was an escape to an interesting time and place.

I encourage you to read the earlier reviews for details of the story. Like one of the earlier reviewers, I haven't bought a game for awhile as recent games haven't been much of a challenge or just didn't grab my interest. The storyline of this game is it's selling point. I like the characters. I like the plot. You find your brother fairly soon, but he evades you after giving you a clue. Game on! You can use your logic to figure out what to do next but it requires being immersed in the story. I don't see it as a CE for more experienced players but worth playing as a SE if you don't need the extra help. . The madhead logos are super easy to spot. Main advantage would be access to the strategy guide as the "bling" is minimal. It's a fun game and worth a try to see if it's a fit for you.
