I look forward to finding one of these griddler-type games every day on Big Fish, just like I used to look forward to the Hidden Object games until they were overflowing. I'm thinking that the developer sprang to release this too early to jump in on the griddler craze. The graphics are nice. The music is okay. The multiple colors are fine.
I just don't like to have to guess. There were some levels that there was no way I was going to know where the next block would be without using one of the weird hints. (Like a level that has multiple 1's to fill in when there is a choice of 2 or 3 spaces for each one.) The idea of buying more hints from the points I accumulated was a nice idea, but I would be using them up pretty fast or making more mistakes than I do in other games.
Also, and this is my mental laziness showing, I don't like to have to count every single block when I'm coloring in a bunch of them (like over 5). I can guesstimate by eye if there are 5 blocks in a row. But when I'm going to color in more than that, I like the game to count them for me so I don't make a mistake and go over my allotted squares. It may be petty but it really influences how much I enjoy the game.
With as many griddle/nonagram games out, the future releases need to have something a little extra, or at least all the bells and whistles of the previous games.
I love these grid/nonagram puzzles. I look for a new one every time I go to Big Fish. This one is a little different from the penguin and gizmo puzzles that are very popular. No story, just fun times guessing which are the right spaces.
It's very much like its predecessor Spring Mosaics in its setup - you can choose your own skill level or stick with the established ones. I tried the custom and liked it a lot. I prefer the empty spaces to be filled in automatically when I find all the filled ones, and I can choose that.
The graphics are more sophisticated than the penguin series; more like the Arizona Rose graphics. I like the space type background, and the pictures I uncovered in each puzzle related to the space theme. I even recognized most of them! I found the music very soothing. Unlike some of the music in other games that can interfere with my thought patterns. I don't want quick tempos or irritating notes - my brain needs peace and quiet for enjoying the game!
As much as I like the colors in this game, and I really do, I have to say this game is not as challenging as others of its kind. Sometimes you just have to guess what the next step will be, and it's because there is no logical choice. I like the multiple colors to each level, and the pictures seem to make sense instead of just patterns.
All roads lead to Rome! With thousands of years of art, history, and culture on display, it's the perfect destination for your next Big City Adventure.
The Big City Adventure games are strictly Hidden Object, with puzzles thrown in. There are no complex themes, and you don't have to go back to previous scenes to find the one item you need to complete something four scenes ahead. The Hidden Objects scenes are not really difficult, but not easy either. You do occasionally need the hint coins to find all the objects. Instead of having to wait for hints to refill, you collect coins in each scene to come up to 5. Rarely, in all of the Big City Adventure games, have I ever needed all 5 hints in one scene. I can't remember now how many scenes there are, as the little circles that denote a single scene are all around the perimeter of the game's home page.
I love this type of game! I have all of the past ones from this company. Very enjoyable!
I love these griddler puzzles! I am also very excited to see more and more of these games coming available on Big Fish. That being said though, this game falls a little short in a few key areas for me.
First, it doesn't automatically fill in the blank spaces when a row is complete. (yes, I know I'm lazy).
Second, I have really gotten used to being able to switch colors when I'm stuck. Since this is a single color game, I have to make mistakes sometimes. Or use hints. Which I think I am above.
Third, I can't tell what the picture is after I have completed the grid. Maybe the developer could put a name like other games do. Not everyone is so creative that they can tell a palm tree from a scorpion when they are shaped from little squares of one color.
I really like the graphics. In fact, the graphics are much better than most of the current games like this. (Except the Gizmo games - I love those graphics). The music is appropriate to the setting, and very soothing.
I enjoyed the game, and might buy it later. But I'll probably not play it over and over like I do the Gizmo games.
As in all of these mosaic/griddler type of games, there are a number of grids in each level. In some games, you get a piece of scenery after you complete each level. Other games give you awards. This game gives you a clue to solving a crime, with the chase to catch the criminal at the end of the level. You know who the criminal is by connecting all the clues you received after each grid. The graphics are not as good as they could be, but the game is fun.
It's no secret that I love these griddler/mosaic games. I look for a new one every day on Big Fish. When I found this one, I thought it needed a little more in the graphic portion, but I'd still give it a try. What a pleasant surprise!! The grids are slightly different than the penguins with their multiple colors, but not enough to make a difference. I don't always know what it that I have uncovered (I'm not that creative to see things that aren't plain in front of my face) but they are easy enough to do if you use hints. The surprise comes in at the end of each level. The grid uncovers a water garden! And then there is a maze through the stones and glowers to take the cannonball thru! Pretty cool!

I am so glad this type of game is becoming more popular. That means I get to play a new one every week or so. I hope that means I'll see a new one even more often. This game creator has been most consistent in providing interesting games like this. Adding colors before everyone else, and making the grids more complicated as you farther into the game but not so much as to make it not worth playing. I love this little penguins!
I admit it - I love griddler puzzle games! It's like an addiction for me. I'll play them late into the night, even when I know I have to get up early in the morning. Whenever I see a new one, I have to try it. This game is different than other griddler puzzles: there's a story line that is more involved. The graphics are better than previous games. The main downfall for me is I had to use the hint button too often or guess, which is kind of against the 'rules' for griddler puzzles. I enjoyed the game though.
It is so much fun! Really, it is! I am a HO game fan. Rarely do I look at other games, but I love this little Dracula. So I tried it. It's so much fun! I love hearing his comments, and his minions do most of the work, groaning as they do it! So clever! Now I want the other Dracula games.
