I had to play this game three times over. The first time I decided to take a zip over to the prison to try the ladder and the screwdriver on the vent before opening the sherriff's office. Bad idea. The screwdriver disappeared and I could not find another. The SG was no help whatsoever ..it just told me how to open the Sheriff's door wth the screwdriver. sigh Start over. Then the second time I could not find my way back to coroner's office. Was it on the map?? NO!! The SG just told me how to make a replica of the horn in the coroner's office. grrrr Whoever thought creating a SG this way would be better was dead wrong.. Stop it Stop it Stop it. So I did like the use of real people, the game was well drawn with lots of locations. I enjoyed the floating jigsaw puzzles in her visions and the electical box puzzle. Not much else. I still haven't managed to finish it. Why would u all decide that the morphing objects should come out.. I don't know. I disliked them in place of the HO scenes but otherwise I loved them. And now they too are gone. I can see the time and effort that went into making this game and I have an appreciation for that. But the plot seems old, there are several glitches to be worked out, I am tired of the run down icky environments and I really hated the SG. Loved the use of people, some of the puzzles, the moveable HO scenes and the detail in the artwork. But overall this game just does not hold up. There were too many negatives in relation to the positives. But I have not lost faith. maybe the next one.
I don't recommend this game.

This game managed to be weird, sappy, charming and entertaining all at once. A very average start.. your boyfriend is kidnapped .. turns into anything but ordinary when you enter a cyclops world to save him. Some very different puzzles and plenty of bright pretty HO scenes. You are helped along the way by disembodied souls that now speak through masks. Be warned on this one that there are many locations and you will make good use of the map which names each one more and more often as you near the end. Some very creative characters with amusing accents.. I loved the Scottish brogue on the billy goat. 60 strawberries to find that open a storybook on the main page. Edwina's divination cards are back also. This game was lots of fun. Sometimes kind of crazy but I always felt like I had no idea what might happen next. Bright, pretty, well made and somewhat unpredictable. Quite enchanting.. I liked it.
I recommend this game!

I liked this game but didn't love it. The mechanics were good. Lots of locations, morphing/ beyond objects to find and a mix of HO scenes. Some were find the objects and some were place the objects back in. No achievements. The game was long with a kind of far out aliens taking over/ attacking earth storyline. The 3D people and the VO's (what there were) were fairly well done but I don't know. This one just didn't wow me. It felt as though I had played it before and seemd a mesh of many before it. Not a huge knock on it.. it was fine.. I liked it.. but there was just nothing new.. nothing bad and at the same time .. nothing outstanding. A good solid HOPA that seemed similar to many that we have already played.. If you are looking for a good game that's a good length and decent story.... this one will do.
I recommend this game!

This was the third Dana Knightstone and was very well done. The storyline was entertaining and the graphics were gorgeous! Bright, detailed and with lots of color, some pretty music and lots of locations. The HO scenes were fairly easy with whatever you are looking for being right out in the open for the most part. And the numerous mini games were simple but fun also. Overall this game was quite easy, which I anticipated and therefore played in hardcore mode. it was still very easy so if you are an experienced player you may not want to choose casual mode or you may have absolutely no challenge whatsoever. However that said, I did like this one. You are investigating the death of a ghost now haunting your cousin. You are taken up on cable cars, down in frozen sewers and onto a train. It had some kind of crazy achievements to achieve and a decent extra chapter. Not too sappy, great looking, pretty easy HOPA.
I recommend this game!

This was a short, forgetable HOPA game. What was there was well drawn and pretty. It was bright and colorful with a very nice peice of music that looped throughout. But there just wasn't the kind of substance we are used to especially from a CE game. No achievements, no collectibles, No morphing items. No changes in music to go with the changes in locations. Very few cut scenes. The storyline was too familiar ,, a car accident.. a coma and you have to right the wrongs and free the trapped souls of your mother, your grandfather and yourself. So only three chapters and the game ended far too soon. While I liked the HO scenes and a few of the puzzles this was not a game that I will remember by probably tomorrow. It just lacked any wow factor. I think if you used a free game credit to buy the SE version it would be a worthwhile game.
I don't recommend this game.

Wow what a great game !! A short ways in I went to find the SG to look for better puzzle instructions and remembered that this was a game that I bought with a free game credit. Amazing. This easily is CE worthy and even has an extra chapter. The storyline is a typical rescue but takes place enirely in an underwater city named Eden. The graphics and sound effects were very well done. There are some strange demon creatures that are taking over people. A huge array of rooms, tunnels and sewers with a good interactive map. The HO scenes offer an option of playing dominoes instead and the mini games of which there were many, were really fun. Lots of great locations, .a good amount of HO scenes and a very engaging storyline with good voice overs. Lots of interaction with other people also trying to defeat the demons. There were even quite a few achievements to achieve. Unlike some others, I found this game to be a very good length and it took me quite a bit longer. I did play in advanced and found it more like eight hours .This is a very well done game that is worth the money and would have been worth the CE price IMO. Thank you to the developers for offering this as a SE. Bravo.. great job.
I recommend this game!

This was a really lovely fairy tale of a game. As always with Elephant games, it was lavishly drawn, had tons of color, many exotic locations and you had interaction with a lot of people. I must admit that it took me a bit to really get into the storyline as it seemed a bit old.. the evil witch steals your prince. But the more I played it, the more I loved it. There were some really tricky inventory items and some what to do next moments.. especially if you didn't use the hint system. Collectibles to find.. athough really you didn't have to look.. they were right out in the open. But there were potions to make, mad dogs to overcome, portals to travel through , a witch to outsmart and a cast of characters to help you along the way. I did find that the snake charmer guy had the worst british accent I had ever heard.. but no matter he didn't say much. This was a good length, had all the elements of a great adventure and I thouroghly enjoyed it. I liked that it was not overly heavy with Ho scenes and that many of the mini games were fun and original. Haven't played the extra yet but this one is well worth playing in my opinion. Enjoy!
just a p.s. to these two developers please remove the annoying sound when one tries an inventory object that's incorrect. It's so not necessary and can get annoying.
I recommend this game!

This one ..like all the MT games was very well done. I absolutely love this developer. Loved the weird morphing creatures, the inclusion of Elf again and the search for poker chips. I would have liked if the things that we bought for Elf were integrated into the game.. he needs food before he can help again.. something like that as otherwise it seemed kind of pointless.(other than being cute) And really that's my only critique. The game looked a lot like previous games but had a very unique plot, real actors. a ton of inventory objects and great HO scenes. It was beautifully drawn, used lots of color and the VO's were great. An excellent jump map, some cool puzzles and a good hint system. Maybe could have been more puzzles but really what else is there? So why were the four aces playing with mixing up animal combos and people? What was the purpose of changing those people? and why were they killing each other off? What does all this have to do with the Mystery trackers? I think the ending left the door open for a bigger plot than a few weirdly combined animals. (It did make for some funny combos though). Looking forward to the next installment and hopefully it answers the unanswered questions in this one.
I recommend this game!

Wow great game . I had complained in the past about this developer's lack of storyline but not in this one. The tale told here was as good as any of the fairy tales we knew and loved growing up. (Move over Disney and make some room for Blue Tea). A group of red hooded women who guard the forest from an evil wolf queen and the lust for power that led one of them astray. Loved it. The game is visually stunning. Very intricate details, lots of color and full of ornate jewels and gems. The cut scenes and VO's were excellent. 20 morphing objects, a good map and a hint system that could be very helpful. Lots of HO scenes. I also really liked the way you collected objects to complete each parable and then the narrator read them to you as if from a storybook. Way cool. My only little critique is that the mini games were dead easy. But when you put so much effort into storyline development.and creating an amazing atmosphere, it's hard to complain too much about that..The extra chapter was okay. It didn't have too much to do with the game itself but it was fun.
I liked the two previous games in this series but I loved this one. I will absolutely be buying the CE version of the next dark parable
I recommend this game!

I don't know about this one.The scenes were often run down and drab. The game mechanics were fine, lots of inventory objects and HO scenes. But the storyline was full of magical things without the game having a magical feel. There were talking skeltons, wishing trees, a labrynth and magical moving and talking trees but the the game seemed to want to have a horror feel to it. For me.. the two just didn't seem to blend very well. The end result at least for me, was what felt like a B movie that had a not very well thought out plot. The labyrith was confusing and when one checked the SE it gave directions that did not seem possible to follow. I eventually did get it with the help of the hint system but not before I thought of scrapping the game altogether. I thought this one had good potential but it could have used a bit more work, a bit more color and less green and brown to give it that polished feel. Not a bad game but not memorable either. just okay.. 3 outta five stars
I don't recommend this game.
