I have only done the demo and got through one planet, which had me doing tasks such as building wind power turbines and recycling trash all in a very new style of game screen than I am used to. I was total rubbish at first.
Once I got the hang of how much things cost like the resource buildings and the workers and what I got back from demolition etc. I got a bit better. (There are 3 levels of play including relax )
The first thing I noticed was how peaceful the default soundtrack was (babbling brook) which took a bit of stress away lol. There is other music in the extras, as well as a log book reminding you of what the features are..and your adventure, some wallpapers, and credits. However there are no extra levels, but there ARE 66 levels spread over 8 different planet missions. Will there be that many in the SE? Who knows?
I kept tossing up between 5 and 4 stars as I encountered one thing, (like no strategy guide)..but then a good tutorial..and then wondering what on earth was under something..could I build there? Do I open those boxes..(yes because they have gold in them!) Then I thought nothing collectable either..but then stumbled across an artifact which I guess I will need for my achievements?...so back and forth with the rating.etc etc Its probably is a 5 star game..but I decided I cant award that because of no tutorial.
I also came across a level requirement where it said '5 workers tents', and I did that..THEN noticed it had +1 in on the end of it and so was not crossed off and also meaning I had to demolish a building to make 6...and it was too late! (repeat!) So watch out for that. I think that is actually a development fault in the 'making of".?
You will build resource buildings (metal and crystals), dig heap mounds (free stuff)..and hire workers for crystals (doesn't seem to be a limit). You will be asked to build things and also to 'save up' a certain amount of either cash or metal or crystals. So in that respect a standard TM requirement.
I think the setting, which therefore makes the tasks quite novel really makes this game stand out. I just need much more training at it and I am sure it will really good. Is it worth the CE price? Once again, it will be a personal choice. There is no guide, its adequate but not huge in level size, so no not really IMHO..but I just bet I give in and buy it lol!
It runs smoothly, it is something new, and it can actually be peaceful with the 'babbling brook' music on. I do recommend it as a game because it may be standard TM but the tasks and settings are at least something new and novel to work with.
Try the demo, be patient with yourself in this strange TM land, follow the tutorial for a bit (you can skip later)...and see if you think it is worth CE price.
I recommend this game!

I have only done the demo on this game..but it's a buy for me. It started badly and I was a bit confused when asked as my first task for 'birdweed' and was only offered 'hagweed' for sale. So I bought it and managed to fulfill my task with that.
There is a good tutorial, and I found the graphics in this one much more sophisticated from the previous games. It is a game of growing flowers by buying water and plots and selling them for money or gathering enough to fulfill the tasks that various characters request of you. You begin just by selling flowers and decorations but eventually you make big bucks by putting together fancy bouquets.
The game is basically played in relaxed and its up to you what you can achieve during the 'day' a timer that ends after a certain time. I played in casual, but there is a hardcore setting with stronger battles and nastier pests. At the end of each day you are given time to gather your thoughts to see if you want to sell all your stuff or hang on to some, or buy new equipment (storage baskets, water holders, new plots etc)..and always to stock up on water so the plants don't die
The clickfest comes in because there are pests you must destroy by madly clicking on them until they are destroyed before they destroy your plants, but they leave behind a legacy of useful items for you to use. The big villain in this one is an octopus. He takes a lot of beating and the tutorial advised wisely to click away..but rather than neglect your plants, to hold down and toss him from the water and then resume your click attack again as he comes back. I actually love doing this lol!
There are achievements and trophies that as you gain experience give you faster attack or cheaper buying power etc. You will open many towns and locations on a map and the tasks all seem to tie in together to keep moving on.
Is the game boring? To some it may be, there are some lulls waiting for flowers to grow, and pests to show up, and not everyone is into making up bouquets... but I am really liking it as a 'late nighter' like a solitaire. With its pleasant graphics, the 'go at your own speed' (other than doing pests)..and the meditative aspect of making the bouquets..(when I get there)..and all the varied choices and tasks, it will be an nice little desktop addition to turn to. This will come down to what type of games you use, when and why I think, so make sure you try the demo.
It has taken quite a step forward from the past games although still the same basic gameplay, and you will need to have good mouse and clicking control to enjoy it.
I recommend this game!

Once again we have a perfectly nice solitaire game but if you own others by this developer you basically have this one.
I did particularly like the choice of the decks in this one. There are 3 choices and the plain one against the desert background makes it really pleasant to play for me.
There are achievements but they are more like milestones you must meet to build the 'side' buildings every ten levels or so. There are minigames if you read the dialogue, and it is a basic one up one down style and eventually you earn bonuses that shuffle or take down a card etc..
The game is smooth, the cards are pleasant, and the game is also fairly lengthy. I just already own a Roman one, and a jungle one and I do bring them out every once in a while..
They are exactly the same game with a different set of clothes on. Try the demo..there's nothing wrong with it..there's nothing very exciting about it, and there's nothing very annoying about it. A straightforward game of cards.

I recommend this game!

There were a few surprises here, but they still added up to me not liking the game. It is a standard gather build and upgrade TM. It holds nearly all the features recognisable by this developer including the numbered countdown while tasks are done.
You will gather wood and crystals, clear pits and rock obstacles, upgrade buildings and trade, but mainly running around just picking things up. The strategy in this is interesting but exceedingly frustrating, as it feels more like trickery mixed with the obvious.
If you don't go exactly the right direction first you will run out of resources immediately and have to repeat. There is a numbered strategy guide. It does however not tell you what to upgrade, and I found myself actually NOT doing this sometimes was the only way to make time. (even on level 2 I am ashamed to say lol) Not upgrading or not even building seems to be the only way to pass some levels. It might be very 'clever', but I found it left me frustrated and not enjoying the game one bit. On other levels, if you did find the right path first time..it was just plain boring after that. The only thing you were choosing was what to upgrade and what to bother to build. I came across this once before where not building something was often part of the gameplay.
The sound is truly awful! Every move is accompanied by a kind of zappy lasery noise. By the time I finished the demo my head was tense and who wants to play a game without the sound on!
There are achievements, and art and wallpaper in this and 50 levels only and not even a collectable in sight! I don't see what makes it worthy of a CE. I wont be getting even the SE. Besides it is just like the style of any other game by this developer and that never seems to change,.I find it a cross between boredom and pure frustration. The strategy may be tricky at times but its so darn uninteresting and certainly could not be called 'fun'.
I cant think of any reason to recommend this, especially as a CE. Even if you are not jaded by this style of game as I am, I still don't think you would enjoy it much. I don't know which market this was designed to reach, but it wasn't me and I am a TM fan above all.
I don't recommend this game.

Firstly this is a VERY smooth running game. The tiles glide beautifully and fall in a manner that you can keep track of. It is however if you have played others in the series, pretty much the 'same game' with a different chapter of the 'Bible Story'
In the game play, I only got as far as the 'spiders' who make webs and need you to match underneath them so they don't have time... or they web freeze a tile requiring a bonus to get rid of it. Why did I quit? Not because of the game, its really a sweet conventional M3.
I quit because I know the Bible Story. I am now of the Buddhist faith, and must warn you that there can be some confrontation if you do not like being told 'the power of the Lord is upon you' as you drop a certain tile from board. Many times on some levels. I have nothing against this, but for me I just didn't wish to hear it. So not a criticism as the game nor the faith.. it clearly tells you the theme. Just not for me. And I felt being made to read the story to earn another element was not for me either. To me this is a big part of the gameplay you must consider.
I will leave it for other reviewers to elaborate on more of the features and different bonuses which are also handy. Its a standard M3 of good quality, it has a definite theme, and it is a smooth and pretty game.
I recommend this game!

Another total classic has made a return. This game will require all your TM skills as you build, gather, upgrade and rescue and trade. Sounds average? This game is far from average and really well put together for clearly showing you what you need to aquire to complete a building or a task
However in this one surprises jump up to meet you and some of it is pure guess work as to what choice to pick to build. I was using strategy even at level 2 and 3 because of this. Just looking at your task and inventory doesn't always help..so you may have to repeat or demolish and quickly build because the timer is a bit of a hard master. (there is a relaxed)..but this series has never been a walk in the park and if you have never played before you may feel thrown in the deep end a bit I think even though the tutorial is adequate. .
Its classic Moai with mostly all the same visuals and game play pretty much, but I think this is TM at its best if you like a fair challenge.
Whilst there are in game bonuses you find by opening chests to help you at the traders or speed you up etc..you can also improve your production, or speed by going to the 'store' and buying further bonuses with the gems you earn for doing your levels. You can gamble for more...or just buy. There are also achievements to earn.
I do have two negatives, one is that the levels take an awfully long time to load..your game IS working...just wait for it to kick in. I was worried at first. The other is that you cant skip the dialogue. But all in all, its an SE with 60 levels of strategy, challenge and fun so its still getting full stars from me. Enjoy.
I recommend this game!

I simply bought this ..one of my favourite series. It is pure and classic TM, with a nice twist toward ecological themes of restoring run down campsites and planting trees.
In this CE you will get a strategy guide (written), 50 normal levels, 20 extra levels on completion of the game, AND there is a new feature where you must find a hidden map on each level, then when you have found the required amount which you check on the map tab how many you need, you piece together the map which then creates another bonus level (6 in all) You can just go back and look for the pieces later if you miss one and then just leave the level.
There are four modes of play, relaxed, easy, normal and hard. Your time is counted in days to complete the tasks. I learned my lesson a long time ago with this series, that my favourite speed is easy, as you cant just flip between modes without starting a new profile, and although it starts easy this series traditionally get really hard near the end. (you could play a timed and an easy or relaxed side by side?) There are achievements and you can skip the dialogue if you like.
This is one TM where I really think the strategy guide is a bonus and there is good CE level value too. There is no help on the net for ages, and though I pride myself in being a pretty good TM'er, I always need the strategy guide eventually. And I am assuming this game will be the same?
One thing I was so glad to see was that (and I was told) there are no more elephants being shot. Hooray, this is one thing that put a lot of people from purchase, and it didn't fit with the eco theme at all. So good on you developers!
You will build and restore campsites with tents and trailers (and eventually cabins and houses), food vans, production buildings such as greenhouses to make seeds for gardens and create an eco friendly campsite. In this one when you put a garden on a site it now gives you fruit as well as gold. There is a factory best kept away from your gardens but near your base.
Other than the maps I have not come across anything different so far in this game, so I cant really tell you if there are further changes as I am not too far in, but hopefully have given a bit of an outline. (and I have actually cleared a creek blockage requiring multiple workers lol) I expect with so many levels much will yet be introduced. If you love classic TM you will love this
.
I am not going to penalise my rating because there is some 'same' gameplay... it's just so darn enjoyable from the graphics down to the strategy you will need to employ. Enjoy!..(especially those who have never tried because of the animal shooting...its gone!)
I recommend this game!

This game is not perfect, but I love it. The gameplay itself is a chain type match in which you clear the way for water to get to your fruit and bring it to life. (it will sparkle) It is very similar with that an 'elements' game or other gardening games, but in this one there are some new features that make it a lot of fun, and pretty busy.
When I first started I ticked the timed box (it seems to be set on casual unless you pick) and I was rubbish at it and my fruit turned to clay.. Then I remembered this is NOT a match 3, you only require 2 tiles to clear them. And then I was pretty good at it lol.
In this one every now and then your icons (just for a short while..so be quick) change to various bonuses if you incorporate them into a match with the colour they are.. A pitchfork that will clear a whole row in the direction it is pointing or a slingshot that fires off random clearing arrows.
These can be very important if you catch them as they can get rid of obstacles that would otherwise need incredibly large matches to clear. Instead of a match of 10, a good pitchfork will clear the way for you. This keeps you very busy and hopeful scanning the board thoroughly.
Be very careful as you go..as you cannot backtrack. If you pass a piece of fruit without watering it, you will not get your full stars. Its a balance of careful vs speed.
Also in this you can buy some cute little animals and place them in their homes with the coin you earn on your levels. Just a cute little aside to play with.
I found the tutorial sincerely lacking, a single page that just told you a bit about the features. But you will figure out that large matches make bigger explosions and for those that require a nuclear explosion your tiles will show you when you have got enough (hope for a pitchfork really lol) And to reach the level map you must exit back to the main menu or it automatically launches the next level. So you can replay..just go back
I find it colourful, fun and a great little time waster that makes me smile. Enjoy
I recommend this game!

It was so hard for me to rate this game as I have simply played so many practically the same, but with different themed tiles. The tiles in this one are very colourful and pleasant, and if you have never played a similar game from this developer you will probably quite like it. I just don't need to own 'yet another one'
With the loot you get from your gameboards you will rebuild a viking village and the levels are quite varied with different 'blocks' and explosive bonuses that appear for large matches. Ice, double grass, extra gold under some tiles. Its actually quite a cute game. If you get a 'perfect' you also get to choose a mystery prize from some cups.
There are 3 modes of play, relax, normal and hard. So I guess there is something for all there. I cant really say there is anything wrong with this game, its just not very exciting. I just find it all a bit tedious after playing so many exactly the same. This developer does one thing right..long lasting games, so you do get good value from your purchase.
Try the demo and see. We are all different. On that basis I will recommend it but not buy it lol.

Even if you have never played any of the series before I think you would maybe let it scrape in at OK. However if you have any of the others, don't bother, it's constant boring tasks.
What's new:
*You have to keep your buildings open by lighting alters or they stop producing and are locked off.
*You supplement your food by first growing your own bushes
* There are slugs as another creature of 'removal'
* Standing on two buttons at the same time to remove barriers
What's the same:
*Everything lol, including no connection with the characters or warmth to the game. Just hard no fun slog
* A chest you get your temporary bonus from every few levels
*Wood, gold, food, stone
*A tough timer..stressful not fun.
*Upgrade everything or else..no win
*It does HAVE a strategy guide
* Bonuses like run or work fast etc
*portals, ghosts, markets, and ships
I find the timer on this too tough (all games), and for me personally I never play relaxed, my fun is beating the timer by clever strategy and swift moves. This game is just like spending a day on the slave line to win without any thinking properties. Just go fast, upgrade everything, and stress out.
There is ONE original property of this game and series, and you need it a fair bit..you do not have to clear the road "in order'. You can bypass gold and food to get to wood or a building you wish to get happening so as to get your second worker quicker or supply running.
I honestly had really had enough by the end of the demo. As a CE the only extras are art and music. There are no collectables or much of interest. You cant even see how many extra levels there are ahead of finishing the main game.
Its a wide pass for me as far as purchase. I have never rated this series well and this game is no different.
I don't recommend this game.
