Well I am only on level 5 and already a new feature where I had to open gates to get the resources to keep moving, and already a new spell, the 'dead end' which opens portals to paths that are locked up. But choose carefully lol.
This is classic Drac as we know it. And I even had to repeat the last level while I nutted out the best course.
Loving it so far and glad to have another quality TM game that plays smoothly and gives me cause to think of my strategy. Enjoy!

I'm sorry but can't see why people are giving this game such a low rating. It's as good as any in the series.
As far as the new feature 'gear' goes...after you play a few levels you can dress your character with 'gear' that gives you extra bonuses..go faster etc. Really it's simple. And if you press the '?' at the top of any game screen, that will give you both a verbal and numbered strategy guide.
I really recommend this game. It's not overeasy, and I find myself repeating quite a few levels, as I think I 'have it done', and suddenly find I had been too slack in continually collecting another resource I did not know I would need. This is great for a 'strategy' game. I go back in with a whole new game plan and manage to get full stars.
If you have loved the other games..this is just as good with a few new twists. Try the demo. I love it.

Not a huge amount of new features, but one is an icewall you will need to make many matches or explosions next to in order to clear it.
The ladybugs are here..the tube of tokens etc, so not many surprises, but it is to me a 'goldilocks' game. Just right. Challenging enough but not frustrating.
There are many times the only way out of getting to 'locked coins' is to make a rocket. (3X3) and that keeps you busy!

I have always loved this series but found the 'old days' more fascinating than the last few offerings. However you can't go wrong with this series, as far as smooth movement and challenge. This one has bought back the magic that is more wonderland and fantasy.
The main plot is you will have to repair and get ready a 'royal' dress. So you will be gathering flowers, needlecraft items, patching spots, and on the road you will be cutting down giant mushrooms, (and crafting the items to do so), using resource towers and gathering butterflies that fill in your 'collectable' item, to get your puzzle pieces. The butterflies are fairly visible, but you can always hit the last button on the 'strategy guide' (?) You will also need to click the morphing imp for your artwork.
There is one word of caution, you still may need to use your own strategy. I found level 2 unbeatable in timed to follow it totally. (I didn't need to waste resources on the teapot in the second half)..But then once again, this game is very fair...you can toggle to relax from timed, and still get your three stars on repeat, and you can just go back and collect a 'missed butterfly' for your puzzle, and leave.
I am really enjoying the feel good nature of this game and the fantasy graphics. I do find the loading time between screens a bit ho hum, but in the big picture, it's a great little game. Always try the demo first. Enjoy!

This game is fabulous! It's not much different to any other Rescue Team game as far as game mechanics go, build, gather, clear roads and demolish when needed. But gosh this one is fast and furious.
You must know exactly what to build, which direction to go, and when to demolish..or you will not make it in timed. This is the toughest timer and the most strategy I have had to use in this series. (There is a relax mode, but you can't toggle, but you can run two profiles side by side if you want to try a level in relax first)
Thank heavens the strategy guide is both numbered and verbal as to what to build, demolish when, and what to replace with. I tried each level without peeking, but even on the first few levels...guessed wrong lol. Then having had a look, it still took all my skill to get there in time!
I love it. I appreciate a tough challenge and feel that is what gives value for money in a TM. This series has so many features and they all figure. Search caves, run generators, gather the minerals in this one by robot, build the expert tents and let's not forget we need a gov't agent to get by. And as you earn stars you get your bonuses.
It certainly is entertaining, and engrossing. There are many extra's and as you complete the levels you pick up your collectables and clues for the museum.

I must say that I love these types of games. This has a feel good vibe with plenty going on.
I particularly like this one as you get the choice to use dialogue OR just check your notebook. The dialogue box can get a bit intrusive, but I prefer it because it gives you the back story not just your tasks.
There is a night mode (which I am not up to yet)..but you earn stars as you 'solve' cases of finding all the people and clues of of 'who dunnit' and how. Night mode opens once you earn enough stars.
The scroll to magnify is very generous and the screen becomes quite large. It is timed so the quicker you solve the more stars you get. So far I have not found that stressful as there is a hint button that fills quickly so you can move on.
Each time you solve a clue..the screen 'colors in' that part of the scene. There are achievements you earn also as you progress. Always try the demo..but I think this is great 'time waster' to enjoy.
Well there are no wasted 'get used to it' levels in this game! It's fast it's strategic and no slacking off will be allowed in timed mode. (Just how I like it). There is relaxed and hard also.
There are so many new features. Not so much in mechanisms we have not seen before, but different characters or objects...a merchants caravan refills storehouses, foxes steal, and not just toxic weeds to remove...the land has been taken over by 'filth' blobs that need manna to remove them.
One of the things I loved (which left me needing to repeat a couple of low levels!) was that just when you think you have control, a removal of one object may require you to come up with another resource you were not bothering to store, and you don't know it's coming. Just grab everything always lol! And every level has so much going on!
The plot is gorgeous...raven put the wrong herbs in the cauldron and Mary not feeling quite herself lol, has gone missing, leaving her tasks to the spellbook to fulfill. John and the gang are out to find her and also clear her name as it looks like she has become a thief? Or has she?
It's fast, it's fabulous and you will need all your wits about you to beat the clock. I am loving every minute of it. Always try the demo, but I am sure TM lovers will get fun and thrills out of every level also! Enjoy!

Hmmm...this is the lowest score I have ever given a Hercules game. Its not bad, but after playing two of the worlds...I for the first time playing in 'casual' was (a word I have never used before...'bored'!?) So I tried in 'expert'...which simply reduced my time of course not the game screen.
The problem for me was the slow start, you can count the whole first 'island' as a tutorial. Wasted levels. By the time I had completed the second island...I realized how much a prisoner of the game I was. Just sitting waiting for resources. I figure they want you to play around with all the objects more, as in this one, quite a few of the puzzle pieces are hidden under objects you need to click on...but I found it way to directive and honestly...no challenge. The only new feature I found was a line of 'skulls' that you yourself have to manually remove in order to move along.
Having only played two worlds (in this 'gulliver' type theme)..it may get better soon I hope? But I object anyway having to pay for two worlds that offer nothing new.
The graphics are slightly different in spots...but not much. I am a TM tragic and have always loved these games even with all the new 'buttons and bobs' lol, but I am honestly not getting the fun factor or the strategy that is not directive in this one. I don't remember ever sitting waiting for resources in other games of the series?
So yes it will fill in the time, yes it runs smoothly, yes there is the rush of the 'mad dash' this series has when you 'can' move on...but it really has left me a bit flat. Make sure you try the demo and see what you think.
I am not sorry I bought it...TM's are few and far between, and there is a members sale today, but I had wished for more. It does have an enjoyment factor...its light and visually pleasing....just not old days where strategy was key, and the pace was fast and continuous.
I have to give 5 stars to quality even if there is not much I have not seen before. This is a fast paced series with lots of strategy and all the bells and whistles you could ask for in a TM game.
There is a relaxed mode, normal, hard, and the one I actually play in 'easy'. This is because in the past I have found by the time I get to the end...this is the only one I can master! You can't toggle the difficulty...without starting all over again.
The hidden objects show a rainbow if you mouse over them, and there is a guide on the side screen showing what they are and how many. When you have them all it folds away.
Bells and whistles..yes! There is a video clip walkthrough and a maps dedicated to where the hidden objects are. If you miss one...you can't just go back and leave...you need to do the whole level again. So you DO have to look for them whilst playing lol.
There are all the features..stone gollums, resource stumps, barracks, bomb makers, food, wood, keys, potions, rifts...and lots of other classic series stuff. So while there was not a lot new...the smile never left my face once. (other than a few moments of panic when I thought I did not have enough of something...but it shows up after you remove another obstacle sometimes..meaning it is very well thought out.)
There are only 8 extra levels as a CE...but when you consider the length of time each one takes..I think its ok.
While there is not much new in this one it retains it new game feeling by mixing up the features so it's never repetitive.
The game requires strategy in choosing what to build, upgrade and demolish. And all the favourite features are here. Alters, temples, chariots etc, and the staples, olive groves, banks, forges, and quarries (that give parcels?).
There are collectable 'treasures' (and don't freak out like I did at first...they are not in order of listing). There is also a 'building tab' where you can use your level points to speed up or make things cheaper. But bonuses also appear on the levels like 'extra worker' or 'remove obstacle' or 'speed production' too
It's a classic great quality TM. It still does feel new as they have mixed it up enough that you can still get stumped lol. As Pennmom says..'Who doesn't like Hermes?" ( I too am upset that reviewers are suffering from vote manipulation)
So with three levels including relaxed there is something here for all TM lovers. Enjoy!
