Usual paradigm by Domini- lots of goodies to find, interactive scenes- click on birds they fly away, click on vases they fall (keeps it interesting). I have to admit this game's graphics are sharp and crisp and not too saturated with the dreaded purple and pink. I appreciate the dev's attention to trying to bring more atmosphere to the scenes- fell just a tad short. Same linear story told in a different way, but the puzzles are fun and the HOGs have different twists plus a match-3 option which I appreciate. Domini has to work on character development. The voice-overs sound very amateurish; that's disappointing. Jeez, all these new games by all these developers are the same old rehash, obviously some better than others. I look to the old games for more realism, truly immersive stories, especially concerning "strange but true": real esotericism, occultism, hermeticism, murder mysteries, the darker, mysterious side of religion and history. PLEASE devs, GET BACK TO THAT!! These cookie cutter games being churned out like a conveyor belt are really disappointing me. Sick of saving the world, rescuing my relatives from other-wordlies and haunted hotels. I HATE elves, dwarves, and dragons. And the whole vampire thing has been done to death...or un-death as it were lol. However, this game is a nice, well done way to pass an afternoon while being sequestered. Domini puts out a good product, even if predictable.

Decent story line, lots of collectibles. Some of the puzzles were definitely very challenging and there are some great twists on the usual junk pile HOGs- and you have a match-3 option which is fantastic. Characters were not very fluid in their movements and a bit wooden. The graphics are terrific- no purple saturation and I love the little store signs that allude to the dev's name Domini. You click on things and they react- like birds flying away or vases falling. Kind of the same ol-same ol' but with solid production, great map, linear paradigm, good story, good length. I did enjoy playing this game and am happy I purchased it.
I recommend this game!

Well, I think we all know the steam punk genre has turned it's last loop. But this game- what a joy! Definitely challenging- pretty much two games in one . The puzzles definitely take some brain work. The imagery is top notch, but the characters are a bit robotic- who cares?! This a a great story, wonderful adventure game, and definitely challenging. Now, I don't like a lot of the new games, but I enjoyed this one very, very much!
I recommend this game!

With all the cookie cutter games out there, everything being the same- find your daughter, find your husband, find your wife, find your sanity, find a relief from boredom- comes this little gem. And the little wooden guy didn't even bother me, I enjoyed him! What a terrific edition by Elephant games. I'm used to games like Penumbra Hotel, True Fear (absolutely outstanding!). I don't like gnomes, dragons, other-worlds. I like history and realism. Well, this wonderful game has both and I am reminded of Christmas- in spite of the little wooden guy! The HOP's, which I usually find so annoying, were lots of fun and who doesn't like puzzles?! Great job, Elephant, this game is a joy!
I recommend this game!

Well, at the time of this writing this game is just about 10 years old- don't let that scare you. Gorgeous hand drawn graphics, no map but a very helpful hint button, Seems to be based on Southwestern lore and the seven deadly sins- how could you go wrong?! lol No voice-overs but that's ok. HOP's are not annoying and the mini-puzzles are challenging. Not a lot of handholding here! Story-line sucks you right in! If you enjoy adventure gaming, I highly recommend this one!

Typical HOAG cookie cutter, but enough thought went into this story to keep you entertained. Not my type of picnic, but there are those that will love this. Graphics- typical, voice-overs- typical, story...you guess the rest. Worth the buy, though. There are better out there but I found this to be a great way to spend a Sunday! Enjoy :-)

As they say, truth is stranger than fiction! If you are tired of dwarves, elves, specters, ghosts, witches, other-worldlies kidnapping your relatives, haunted hotels, princesses, and having to save the world ad nauseum then you'll love this game! Granted, the graphics are well done but not particularly atmospheric. Great story line- MK Ultra: a historically CIA biggie! Thank God, the HOGs are at a minimum and lots of puzzles which I love! Great job here developers! I am loving every minute of it!

I've liked many games from Elephant but as of late they're becoming the same ol' same ol'. I bought this game sight unseen according to the somewhat positive reviews. Mistake. As soon as the little wooden guy showed up I knew I would hate it. Now for some, I know this is your genre and many will enjoy this. Me? Nope. I love intelligent, realistic, historic gaming. Wish Big Fish would get more...please, no more elves, dwarves, dragons, mages- it's been done to death, For those of you that like this type of schmaltz gaming- enjoy. And I truly wish developers would start hand drawing their scenes again- now, that's a joy!
I don't recommend this game.

In these days of cookie cutter games ad infinitum with cg graphics and characters that move like stickmen, it's a wonderful day to find a game like this. Hand drawn graphics with real actors, fluidity of motion. Graphics are crisp and clean, intriguing story line moves in a linear fashion and- oh glory hallelujah- very few HO's. This is a puzzle heavy game. It's an older game, which probably explains the great graphics which a team obviously took the time to produce. And personally I like the fact that there are no morphs or collectors items or puzzle pieces to watch out for. Although I do enjoy that, it's nice to be able to concentrate on just the game. You have to hunt for gems like this in the huge cornucopia of games that is BIG FISH but it is well worth the expedition. Great job on this one and well done!

I bought this without playing the demo as it looked to be something different and the reviews were mostly very positive. I was disappointed. The game lacked atmosphere, no mystery at all as we know the culprit from the start, and the storyline...well, this is no Arthur Conan Doyle. I finished the game and started the bonus chapter. The voiceovers are not good- it's supposed to take place in England but the only character with a hint of an English accent is the main character. BUT- the voiceover in the bonus chapter was awful. It begins with a wedding- the bridegroom's voicing was so incredibly bad it was comical and I laughed out loud. Character movement and fluidity is very clunky. I'm giving this three stars instead of two because I appreciate the effort to bring something new to the table. Mercifully, this game is short. I thank the developers for trying but this falls way short. Back to the drawing board is elementary, my dear Watson.
