So disappointed in this game. It's a fractured fairy tale type of game. (Not clear from the description.) There are many high reviews of this game, that is why I took a chance on it. I got it on a daily deal, which makes me feel better since I didn't pay full price. Mechanics are good enough. No custom mode. Choices are easy, normal and hard. I chose normal. The good: No annoying sparkles and no dumbed down "tutorial." Graphics are clear, but it is old school in design. The movie quality of newer HO's are not in this game. That's okay since I have been buying older games despite the lack of visual effects because the quality of the older games are higher IMHO, I frequently had to use the map to change scenes because the cursor would not show down to go back. Map is good & teleports. The bad: Nothing to make you care about the characters or what happens or doesn't happen to them. The alligator helper was just plain creepy. I just couldn't force myself to finish the game.
Excellent map and hint. Interesting story. Computer graphics clear and true. Reminiscent of the quality of the original House of 1000 Doors games, but this one is not a copy of that series. Original in premise and application. Only 2 modes of play: casual and expert. I played casual. No hand holding. Game where you have to think for yourself!
I bought this game because I own every other MCF. This isn't really a MCF game. Just go from room to room and quickly pick HO's. No directions for super games. So sad it came to this!
