I do love fairytales and this seems like one I might enjoy. The demo was entertaining and I think children may be able to play without parents fearing something inappropriate will suddenly pop up. I thought the music before the game started was absolutely beautiful. It had such a lovely, haunting feel to it.
The game opens with Diana, our Druid in training, returning home in response to a letter of distress from her father. Upon arrival, her town is burning from a dragon attack.. She rescues a friend of her father's from the fire and he gives her a message from him. Diana knows now that she has to find the Wise Dragon and heads for the castle to find out who ordered the dragon to set her town ablaze.
We have a raccoon helper to make some of the tasks easier to accomplish. In the demo he helped out a few times and chattered just a little. When finished he just sat in the corner very quietly and didn't cause any distraction at all. I've never seen a raccoon in this type of fairytale before. I'm more used to little mice, cats and birds. But Mr. Raccoon did his job and all was well.
The graphics were very beautiful and the colors were rich and subtle. The characters were nicely rendered with good voices . They didn't have stiff, jerky movement like in many games and the fashions were pretty typical for the time period depicted. And the father's watchdog was very interesting!
The demo moved along well and went far enough into the game to show it will be entertaining, with a good storyline. It gives us another strong female with determination and equipped with the necessary mental and physical strength to overcome the evil doers.
The puzzles I encountered were very creative, but not extremely challenging. I enjoyed them as well as the HOPs. If you like puzzles, there are many to keep you happy. Not so many HOPs. I did not search for morphs or collectible puzzle fragments. I just accidentally bumped into enough of them to earn me some extra achievements, which was nice. But there are not many extras in this CE.
Like the previous Midnight Calling, I will probably sit on that fence for a while deciding whether to purchase or not. I think fairytale lovers and young gamers will like this one.. Also, there are 4 game modes, so any skill level can play.

It has been forever since our last Agatha Christie games. The demo at 3am prompted me to buy this one! I own the other 4 Agatha Christies along with all the Nancy Drew. For me, games of this type just don't come along often enough. They give a wonderful sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, and provide fun adventure and mystery solving. If you like to use your brain cells, lest they shrivel and die, this game should pep them up! lol. Mine are happily up and running today!
I agree with the reviewer ahead of me in regards to simple style and becoming comfortable with navigation. A little patience is a good thing and much like Nancy Drew game play, it doesn't take long to learn. There's a bit extra to learning how the game works and navigates, but there are good instructions to help.
I am so happy the game is based on The ABC Murders! One of the greats. And I absolutely love Poirot, always 10 steps ahead in solving the most baffling cases!
This is a great entertainment value at SE price. I can hardly wait to jump in and see how I do with this long awaited treat.

I own both Alice Patchwork games and they are both delightful. I was happy to find a relaxed mode and still be able to earn stars, though the stars are not as important. I love the untraditional colors very much. Each puzzle is a challenge and a great deal of fun watching it all come together. I love the different textures, they add even more interest to this already amazing game. Owning all the mosaic puzzles of this type, I am still wishing for more. Big Fish offers so few of these relaxing, beautiful games. I love these and jigsaw puzzles to the moon and back. And wouldn't you know...they are the ones that come to us few and far between!
The replay value is endless! Great for family time with the kids and for anyone who wants to try something a little different. If you haven't given these mosaic puzzles a whirl before, at least try the demo. It is lots of fun to "step out of the box", as they say!

My review is very long overdue, of which I was reminded with the $2.99 deal today. I really enjoyed this installment which was a decent length game with a great storyline. Starting off a bit slow, I knew it would soon develop into an engaging adventure. And I was rewarded for my patience!
It was a stellar game even though rather action-void in comparison with other vampire stories. Instead of the typical tyranny of vampires, the evil doings were subtle. IMO, toned down with a bit of feeling and "class" if you will. There was nothing to make you shudder, as expected, in stories of these seductive night creatures. That is why it appealed to me so much.
The characters and voice-overs were rendered in excellent fashion. The graphics were sharp and beautiful in nice, rich colors. The fashions and the background scenes indoors and out were detailed extremely well. Even the background sounds were worth noting.
There were many HOGs of good, interesting variety, all were fun and of average challenge. The games/puzzles were not too difficult which means less frustration. I love challenge but sometimes I appreciate less of it. A good map was provided, the hints recharged quickly enough, there were no tech issues..
"Black Rose" had, IMO, a weak ending, but most games usually do. So it is easy to disregard, especially since the rest of the story was so good. I enjoyed the entire game and think it can be played at any skill level.

Maze was challenging, definitely a strain on my brain in some situations. In the demo I had to really pay close attention to the little things, find code numbers, and poke a monster in the face with a fireworks rocket. Actually would like to have seen more of him!
The whole dreamscape concept in this instance was a little hokey, IMO. But it made a good story, a pretty involved storyline. However, nothing made me jump in fear, the monster didn't appear long enough in the demo to cause any kind of reaction, the TV ghost was a mere annoyance, and I saw no inexplicit content..
I was very intrigued with this dare Timmy got himself into and was hoping to discover his reward, if he conquered the challenge. Although not bored with the game, I expected more action. I found it to be rather calm and quiet for the most part. But this is only what I perceived in the demo, maybe I didn't make good progress. There may have been utter chaos waiting in another room ,,, but my time ended!
The graphics were mostly a darkish atmosphere, to add to the nightmare setting. Not much to see or hear in regards to the characters, But then, Timmy's dream required a certain quietness and solitude.
I thought the games were unique and pretty challenging, I really enjoyed them but had to skip a couple. They took more time and thought than expected. HOPs were all excellent and a couple of them were unique and interesting. Loved the one matching the objects to the ink blots.
I can see where the developers put their talents into high gear. Their quality creativity shows throughout what I was able to see.in my 90 minutes. The efforts certainly make this Maze game worthy of a 5-star rating.
But it just lacked the action, colorful visuals and interesting characters that I look for in a game. Even though it is a no for me, I'm absolutely sure it will thrill so many of you! And the variety of game modes (I like their titles), makes it possible for anyone to join Timmy in his courageous super-dare quest.

What will they think of next? Claws and Feathers is one of the cutest games on Big Fish. I have the first two and they really are fun and different. As with the others, everything is cute, colorful and silly. I love how these little dim-witted birds carry the cats away and talk in little jibberish voices. Strategy is the key to success here. It can become a little frustrating, but never, ever boring. I won't go into how to play the game, as another reviewer did such a fine and thorough job. I like this new version a lot and look forward to as much fun as the first two provided. I've a pretty good idea that you will love these sweet games, too.

This is a far cry from Poe's "Lenore" that I enjoyed reading, growing up with his poetry and grim tales. But in the gaming world, this rendition works just fine. Actually, this is a very entertaining game and I always love our very handsome Dupin. I never miss an offering from Dark Tales, they are exceptional but for one or two "bad eggs".
There is much to like about Lenore: The graphics are gorgeous, the colors rich and beautiful. The characters and voices, as always, are rendered perfectly, the period dress and scenery indoors and out are very detailed and interesting.
All the games and puzzles are quite enjoyable, the challenge good, for me not one disappointment. I am a huge fan of the Custom Level for lowering the hint and skip recharge times. Also the choice of levels offered allows everyone to get in on the game, regardless of skill level.
The Poe tales always have provided excellent adventure, mystery, crime solving, games, interesting visuals, the game pace is never slow or boring.. I've never experienced a tech problem to spoil the fun. I'll not add description of the story/plot to my ramblings. Don't want to spoil someone's fun and description has been covered quite well by reviewers ahead of me.
Not many extras this time around, but my main reason for purchasing CE is to get the Bonus Chapter and the Guide. Well, I'm eager to help Dupin solve this case, so off I go to thwart the evil doings of the Crows League.

I like solitaire because it is very relaxing. Up/down is usually my 1st choice but now I'm becoming bored with it. It's a good time to try something new. Without a demo it was a hard choice but I'm glad I took a leap of faith. It is really fun and the variety of styles are not hard to learn, Very surprised to see only one review because this, IMO, is a very nice solitaire game. Maybe a free game coupon would be a good incentive to take a chance.

This is a cheery, colorful game with nice peppy island music, the tiles are bright and easy to see, and it has a fun storyline. Putting Match 3 together with building and solitaire mini games is a winner for me, so I'm expecting a good time!
It is a busy game, the levels can be replayed and it presents a good amount of challenge as the game progresses (not frustrating challenges like some games). There are lots of power-ups that provide some of the challenges and little difficulties. But I think that just adds more fun.
I'm not sure how I will do with this Match 3, it is the first I have tried with limited moves. But it was cute enough and caught my interest right away, so decided to pick it up with my last coupon. Besides, this is the only way I will ever get to Rio!

Just the demo held so much intrigue! There was a bounty of mystery to uncover and so many interesting characters. The Egyptian setting was an huge added delight and I loved the scavenger hunt that was included. There was an abundance of "spy-thriller" action and it was lots of fun sneaking around everywhere. I started to think maybe EVERYONE was in disguise!
The characters were rendered extremely well and the voices had every touch of realism. The period dress and scenery were impeccably detailed and beautiful. The graphics were so clean and gorgeous in every way.
The few games and HOPs I encountered were enjoyable, not terribly challenging. I didn't spend much time on the puzzles, so I wouldn't use up much of my game time. There were collectibles and achievements, some of which I was lucky enough to acquire.
Seriously, my interest and desire to own this game were captured right in the beginning. It is such a wonderful change from our usual fantasy fare and all the locks and keys. This game offers actual thinking, brain stimulation, and a good helping of old fashioned detective work. I highly recommend!
