Oh, I do love this game! It has everything that makes me happy and it is a good length. I'll keep it short and sweet.
The storyline is excellent. The graphics are beautiful, The characters, dialogue, background detail, scenery are done without flaw. Really top notch! How wonderful to drop in on the 80s again. My memory banks are overflowing with so many great images from that era.
I love that we have a murder mystery and setting that is so similar to Murder She Wrote (loved that series!), right down to the seaside village locale. Throw in a bunch of great puzzles and HOGs, some goofy humor, smile at the typical personality types, check out the 80s detail along the way, get busy solving a fun murder mystery and you have a fantastic game to keep you occupied for a good while.
I do hope that we see more of these lovely games. We need to shoot all the demons, monsters, witches and soul stealers to the moon! Seriously...too many, for too long, too unnecessary to make a game entertaining. Plus. IMO, it just is not healthy!
Thanks Big Fish for bringing us a refreshing new series. The game was so enjoyable and I hope it will receive great reviews, so that this and other developers are encouraged to keep creating them.
Once again I voice my great big NO THANK YOU. Our complaining repeatedly over the same issues, has brought about absolutely no changes. Yes, the colors are beautiful and the graphics are nice and sharp. But it takes much more than that to make a great jigsaw puzzle. I fail to see why this developer doesn't understand our big disappointment. IMO our requests are not outlandish or difficult to accomplish. I would love to write a 5 star review some day. PLEASE devs, give us a nice big collection of puzzles next time!
Sometimes I appreciate the "quiet time" without the bells and whistles. It's nice to play a simple game with no side attractions to keep watch for, i.e. morphing objects, hidden symbols etc. And I like being able to use an expiring coupon, I think there is a big shortage of SE games (not the ones that come from a CE version).
I like this game and own the other 2 Eventides, with Slavic being my favorite. The attraction for me is the type of fantasy, I love mythical creatures and the storyline is good. It is pretty easy to play even on hard mode. But so far it has been fun and with no tech problems. The graphics could have been better in this installment but it didn't spoil the game for me, everything else was fine. Without a bonus chapter and extras I hope it is not a terribly short game.
Fun for all skill levels and hooray for Bonus Punch Day! Faith....
This is my 7th vacation there! I've been so "down in the dumps" for far too long with no new SE games worthy of $$ or coupon, but this perked me right up!
The Park Ranger games are so full of great HOs, mini games, puzzles, collecting litter, earning stars and achievements, and you can go shopping with your earned coins in the park's gift shop. Just so much to do, so much enjoyment with this game.
There's wildlife scenery and beautiful nature all around, lots of people visting the park, and the rangers going about their duties. The graphics are excellent and filled with lots to see. I love the many little things to see and activities going on in the background of each scene. These details make the game even more special.
Park Ranger 7, as the previous 6 installments, is a superb hidden object game that everyone can enjoy. No scary stuff here!! Try it out! you won't be disappointed if you are a HOG fan. I hope Vacation Adventures Park Ranger has a long future with Big Fish.
I don't really need another solitaire game but if it is Far Kingdoms, I'll take it. Far Kingdoms always delivers attractive backgrounds and card backs, and pleasant music. These few items add to the pleasantry of the game, for me.
There is a scant story as the game continues and minimal features are offered. But I don't need building or lots of gimmicks and extras. Enhancements are nice but with solitaire, I just like to play without keeping track of anything.
High/Low is my favorite solitaire. This one lets you replay any level and, thankfully, remove all the cards from board without those special cards that end the game prematurely. Replaying the levels lets me work for that perfect hand each time and collecting trophies is always fun.
Extra little challenges are in the form of locked cards that require a special tool or having to remove a required number of cards in order to progress. Not much of a threat, but fun nonetheless.
The only negative I can see, is The Shop. The helpers, although inexpensive, have to be used immediately after purchase. I think most of us like to save them for those upcoming emergencies. Just a minor issue that happens to displease me a little.
I enjoyed the demo and look forward to adding Far Kingdoms to my ever-growing solitaire collection with today's sale.
I just want to say I hate special devices and gimmicks They drive me bonkers! It breaks the flow of the game. However, I like this game enough to grudgingly tolerate it! And for me it was the only negative during the demo.
The demo moved along at a good pace and rewarded me with some fun "in the lab." I love mixing potions and hope there are many more to come after the demo. The HOPs didn't challenge me much, but they were interactive and fun. I liked the few games I encountered and there was choice of easy or hard mode, in case you suddenly became a bit lazy. For the menu settings, I like to tweak the skip and hint reload if I feel the original time is just too long for my impatient nature.
I love the Enchanted Kingdom Series and as usual the graphics were excellent and the beautiful colors were appropriate for the scenes and costumes. Everything was rendered very nicely, the characters had realistic-enough features and good voices. However, the lip-sync was not so great but that is never an issue for me.
I really loved the storyline and the idea of people turning into creatures or plants always intrigues me. From reading Sunnyglow's excellent review there seems to be plenty of story to look forward to and I love those extra long Bonus Chapters, too. There was an abundance of collectibles, but I really didn't try to find any. I earned a number of achievements which is always fun.
A map was available right away and the nifty little Healer's Kit was a fun feature. It contained all the necessary equipment to help with the task at hand. Mixing healing potions at a moment's notice was all important in saving the villagers who were infected with the dreaded morphing disease. There was the ever-present danger of the sickness spreading throughout the whole kingdom.
The demo was very enjoyable, with no snags to slow things down and the time just whooshed away. This is a game everyone can enjoy, with the play modes that adjust to any skill level.
So happy to find this delight after my let-down with the New Release Jigsaw. It is a good day in the pond after all. I own all the Cursed House games and have yet to be disappointed!
The variety of games, number of levels and the challenge offered are all good. I like the differences in Cursed House from the usual Match 3s, There seem to be minor similarities to Laruaville in this one and House 4, but it matters not. Still lots of fun for me and will take advantage of today's sale, for my growing collection of Cursed Houses.
I guess the days of fun, beautiful jigsaws are never to be seen again! My excitement rose when I saw the title of this puzzle set, as it has always been reliable for beautiful, quality pictures with lots of variety including our favorite birds, animals, trees, flowers, interesting structures. Well, except for a cute "laughing" horse, I was deeply disappointed. There was no need to assemble, check out the features, or look for anything special after seeing the pictures offered.
Once again, too many people. Too many staged pics. Too much food. Why? Why? Why? And to me, all the pictures were just plan BORING. A poor example of World Tour Jigsaws and of America!
Okay, I'm through complaining now! Just had to get it all out there...the old pressure you know. lol
For those of you who don't mind these puzzles, there are 500 pictures of locations in states you'll probably recognize and a scant selection of animals. Hopefully, many hours of enjoyment for you!
It was quite a while ago but I remember the first game being very entertaining, it was worth the $$ for me. The demo passed quickly but left me with the need to buy this latest installment asap! The storyline is a good fantasy and easy to follow. Prince Fern all grown up now has quite a task ahead of him. He is such a handsome young fellow. Pity he got stuck with that silly name, not that it really matters I suppose.
His father died when Fern was just a child, but not before passing his crown down to him. He is nearing the day of his coronation and the story picks up with Drosera, the meanie, returning for revenge. She was trapped in the mirror with a big case of cabin fever for too long, by Fern's father who was battling her black magic for many tragic years.
The graphics and beautiful colors in this game are outstanding. The scenes are full of interesting things and the characters are wonderfully rendered, with very good lip sync and voices. The costumes were great. Although this is all fantasy, I really love this time period for the story.
The HOPs were beautiful, interactive and challenging. I thought the storybook style was fun and the one in the bird cage was gorgeous. They were both excellent. The puzzles were challenging but not overly so, really liked strategically placing the soldiers to guard the hallways and mixing potions is always a favorite. I don't know if the roses were the only collectible, but I succeeded at finding one in each scene. Also acquired some good achievements along the way, which is fun gratification. Have to say I HATE custom cursors! Why do we have to have them?
There is Custom Mode, so everyone can enjoy the game. That is always a great feature. Well, with this being Bonus Punch Day, I have some business waiting for me.
This set of puzzles is just a repeat of Pirate Jigsaw 1. It has all the same features and a cursor option. The background colors are the same. The pictures were bright and colorful but very uninteresting.
This time it includes dogs wearing a piece of pirate attire (ridiculous), an odd animal (?), an ugly green thing on a tree. They can just be added to the other disappointing things such as food, trinkets, staged objects, children and adults kind of dressed as pirates, a pretty model, etc. Oh, there is a scant amount of nice puzzles of scenery and ocean creatures, a couple of parrots and ships and treasure chests. However, again, there is nothing here that makes me want to spend time or $$ on it.
How difficult can it be to create puzzles that are appropriate to the theme? I guess the developers don't read the reviews, otherwise they would know the puzzle lovers have become unhappy campers! It has been a VERY LONG TIME since we have seen the quality jigsaw puzzles at Big Fish.
If you are not a picky puzzle geek like me, you will surely enjoy Pirate Jigsaw 2, as there are lots puzzles and variety of sizes to choose. I just can't honestly recommend it.
