Nothing new here to inspire purchasing, as this game was basically just a lazy repeat of the others. However, there was a nice variety of card styles, this time around. I played the entire demo which presented no challenge and offered little to make the game stand out in any way. I would think that a CE edition would contain something more than a handful of achievements and the usual fare that adds nothing to enhance the fun. The bonus levels should be part of the game without the extra cost of CE.
I really loved the very first Dreamland Solitaire with its beautiful graphics and the fun of building the little fairy house. The fairy was sweet and building is always a special treat. In today's offering, much like in Dragon's Fury, the graphics are not up to par. They have become even more cartoonish and have lost the attractive coloring and detail that made the first Dreamland so appealing. The graphics in Dark Prophecy were quite disappointing actually and I didn't much enjoy any of the rebuilding because my interest level was affected by the lack of lovely visuals.
It is a decent solitaire game if you are just looking for something simple to fill some free time. It is just basic solitaire with a story attached which explains the need to rebuild the village and kingdom. For me, there was little in the way of elements that make solitaire entertaining and boredom easily crept in as I neared the end of the demo. Beginners will surely enjoy Dark Prophecy, but I think the solitaire fans looking for a satisfying, challenging card game will be disappointed.
Give the demo a whirl, you may find this solitaire much more enjoyable than I did.
But after the demo, that quickly turned into a big "Oh Yes!" I remember how horrible the first Puzzle Pieces earlier this year was. It was so user UN-friendly with features that were odd and useless. Today's new release is a vast improvement and offers a huge amount of puzzles that should please even the fussiest puzzle lover.
The crystal clear pictures are over-the-top beautiful with scrumptious colors and pleasing images. I am really impressed at the turn-around in quality after Puzzle Pieces 1. I love the option of relaxed and timed modes and the challenge of earning extra coins for speed in the timed mode. You can even buy extra time. Keeps your eyes and mind more focused. Also there are 42 achievements to strive for if you enjoy that extra personal feeling of accomplishment.
There are lots of great features to enhance the fun of this puzzle package and customize each puzzle as you wish. With the 8 chapters full of bright, colorful images which includes a Mystery Chapter to dive into, there is plenty of entertainment. I am having a great time assembling gorgeous puzzles in Puzzle Pieces 2. My only complaint is the difficulty in choosing which one I want to fo next..
I appreciate so much that a developer has taken notice of the things that went wrong the first time. Lots of puzzle lovers want more quality puzzles, they are extremely rare at Big Fish. I have complained of another developer numerous times, who absolutely pays no attention to the opinions and complaints of reviewers and no changes are ever made. I just will not support a developer who doesn't care nor sees need for change. So thank you, Graphium Studio, for bringing me some joy today. Jigsaw puzzles are a tremendous diversion (for me) from the stresses of the restrictions and lifestyle changes the virus has created.
Why is that? TOO MANY PUZZLES!!!! This game has 4 chapters of nothing but puzzles and more puzzles. Hardly room for much of a story and there's a scant amount of HOPs. A reviewer claims this game contains 41 mini-games and only 16 HOPs and 2 collectibles. That, right off the bat, sways my opinion toward the negative.
I went ahead and tried the demo anyway, being familiar with this EAP tale. But was unable to sample much of it because of the too many puzzles I encountered, they were somewhat easy and there was not much challenge to the game. In my opinion it was rather boring but I managed to finish, hoping for improvement that never materialized.
The graphics were dark which made sense due to the storyline, they were interesting and beautiful as in most Dark Tales games. The tasks didn't pose any problems and everything seemed to move along nicely. The characters were so-so and the evil one was the average sicko bad guy in this type of mystery theme. The era always adds a special touch to the stories.
I won't be adding this one to my collection because of the puzzles and hope this isn't always going to be the case. It would be great to see a more reasonable amount of mini-games. After all, this is a HOPA, not a puzzle-mania category.
Check it out and see what you think. Just because I don't like it, doesn't mean you will have the same opinion. I wish I could have added this to my collection. I've loved Edgar Allan Poe stories, ever since my school years many moons ago!
If you are looking for a solitaire with all the right stuff, this is it. 200 levels of challenge due to so many obstacles to beat, with a small amount of cards to work with. What fun! It was frustrating at times and I enjoyed every bit of the demo. Just had to buy this one!
Call of Honor contains jigsaw mini-games, a variety of card styles, wallpapers, lots of achievements, cards that morph, good amount of obstacle cards, great bonuses, 3-star goal for each level, a decent shop and nice graphics. The storyline is okay and a kingdom is waiting to be built. I'm at level 22 and I feel a very long game ahead of me, especially considering the levels I know will have to be replayed to earn those 3 stars. So far I have not met any tech problems, the game works quickly and hitting replay restarts your level in a nano second which is great if you are an impatient player like me.
I feel my $$ was well spent on this game and I appreciate the fine quality evident throughout. This one will not sit on the shelf amongst the cobwebs of all the inferior solitaires I have sadly uninstalled.
We have quite enough boring games without adding this one to the pile. Mahjong is not entertaining or creative to begin with and the lack of basic features that are normally included in games, such as instructions, play button and exit route are nowhere to be found. To advance to the next level I had to exit and then hit next game I wanted. There is absolutely no challenge, I breezed through 30 levels lickety-split and was less than halfway through the demo. So I knew this was a no buy for me.
In addition to the above-mentioned, there were numerous typos and there are no options available to increase the difficulty level of this extremely easy mahjong flop. I tried the different game styles and layouts, but they still presented no challenge. How did this even make it to Big Fish anyway?
There is a positive note, however. There is a nice selection of pretty tiles, very lovely wallpapers and a variety of options. But for me they don't really matter if the game is so void of entertainment. I guess if someone wants to just plunk away at an easy-peasy diversion from the stresses of the day, Nordland Mahjong should do nicely.
That sea air could turn him into a rust bucket and ruin all his fun! Our little guy is excited over a bottle he found with an SOS message inside which is over 200 yrs old. Helper gets carried away with his rescue efforts, as the story unfolds. I know these little stories don't appeal to everyone, but I rather enjoy the silliness.
Again, Rainbow Mosaics has delivered another quality game with a bunch of fun attached. This one has a beachy theme and really cute images that are recognizable even without the labels. There are mini-games included but I encountered only one hidden object scene during the demo which I played to the end. I play slowly so don't know how often they may occur, sorry I can't provide more info for you. I purchased the game right away, but Mr Sandman tucked me in too soon so I haven't continued the fun yet.
There are 130 levels, I played 7 in the demo. The color-wheel is wearing a simple design on its segments and there are 15 tile styles. I love the new flower design and the nice glossy look of 2 new additions, but can't tell what the other one may actually be. The colors are still as varied and vibrant as ever, I noticed a couple of new ones in the demo that really popped. One was an electric shade of lemon-lime that I loved.
The power-ups and upgrades are perfect as usual, there are lots of cute beach items to purchase with your earned coins. The goal of 3 stars has me replaying some levels to the brink of grumbling out loud, my mosaic skills are far from expert (lol)! However, these games are so addicting, I just keep coming back for more. They really are so much fun and even quite relaxing. I love to see the images emerge and enjoy trying to guess what they are after just a couple of colors are applied.
Rainbow Mosaics became a favorite from their very first release. The quality never fades, the story and Helper always make me smile, the colors are beautiful, the features and power-ups work like a charm, the big variety of tiles are fun, and I have never encountered any tech problems.
I was so happy to find Rainbow Mosaics 14 on Bonus Punch Monday. Thanks devs, for this sweet mosaic series!
The Egyptian theme caught my attention, even though I usually avoid chain Match 3s. This one turned out to be very entertaining and I enjoyed the challenge. I tried the Hard Mode but it was a bit much for me, Medium felt just right, Relaxed was EZ-PZ. I like timed games for the satisfaction I feel when I win the level.
I loved the variety of mini-games, spot-the-difference being my fave. Decorating the Pharoah's tomb is fun, which you can do once you have collected enough resources. The power-ups and obstacle tiles were abundant, a gem has to go to the bottom of board which happens by matching tiles underneath them. Gather colored tokens which you will need to recharge the boosters.
I was never bored during the demo and the game ran problem free. It is a nice addition to my collection, I think. This is only my second Match 3 purchase in quite a while as there haven't been many good ones lately. Hopefully we will see much needed improvements in this popular genre.
I am surprised at the low quality of games that are offered on this site at times. But this one takes the cake! Big Fish, what in the world were you thinking when this little stinker was approved? Not even coupon-worthy, in my opinion. I love HOGs so I endured the demo, thinking my criticisms were too fussy, but just like the previous 2 Holiday Adventures, it went nowhere fast.
I always hate submitting low ratings, but this one is a bummer if you are looking for an entertaining HOG with fun options, clear graphics, a hint feature that doesn't work against you, choice of game modes and a point system that makes sense, you need not look here. If I enjoyed watching paint dry, this would be right up my alley!
However, we all have different opinions about what fun is all about and many of you will probably really like this game. Based on the demo and my entertainment expectations in a quality HOG, this game is definitely not an option for me
This is a truly lovely game that I had to purchase right away. The story is sweet, the images emerge in beautiful, vivid colors that really make them pop! An entire scene is displayed in the grid which makes a world of difference and I just love it. I feel like I've really accomplished something special.
We have tile choices which always is fun for me, as I enjoy trying them all. There are 2 kinds of hints, an advanced and easy mode, and 3 stars as our goal for each level. You can't imagine the torture I endure at times, replaying until I go bonkers striving for that achievement ( lol )! I am totally addicted to these mosaic games. Fun, relaxing, challenging all at the same time and the great number of levels makes it even better. There are even wallpaper backgrounds that can be downloaded in this one.
The games from this developer are always choice. It is obvious that they care about their creations. I wish others would get out of their ruts and put more love and effort into their games. There would be 5-star reviews all over the place! Adventure Mosaics: Forest Spirit is a winner to be sure, in my opinion.
If you've side-stepped mosaic games because they look confusing or difficult, don't let them intimidate you. I avoided them for the longest time, but once I dove in I became a mosaic addict. My skills are not expert but I enjoy the challenge of bringing the images to life, knowing I can replay all I want and feel a great accomplishment when I succeed. I think mosaic games are wonderful for improving concentration and testing one's patience and strategy. For me, loads of fun. I do hope you'll give the demo a whirl, you may find it easier than you imagined.
This and Park Rangers are my all time favorite go-to games. If you love HOGs and haven't tried this game, you are missing out on great fun. The Vacation Adventures series delivers the best, in my opinion. Each game is packed with hidden objects, puzzles, beautiful scenery and lots of happy people. The scenes are full of color, little things going on in the background, tourists all over the place and the cruise ship stops at some very interesting places.
I love how the crew takes care of everyone and everything and participates in the activities. The real-people passengers are appealing to me because it's a nice change from all the usual animated characters in games. I own all the Vacation Adventures and have not once been disappointed. The games are educational, highly replayable, family friendly, and free of objectionable material.
The HOGs are challenging but not overly so, the puzzles are varied with medium difficulty and busy images, there is a score board after each level to show how you did. Each level can be replayed if you missed earning all 3 stars. I have never encountered any tech issues in any of the games. The music is pleasant but I usually don't have it on for long. I love the CE because, of course, there is more of everything to prolong the fun, and I really enjoy the extra puzzles.
I know a lot hasn't been mentioned here, such as mechanics and small details, other gamers will cover it all with their great reviews. The CE is really great, but the SE provides oodles of quality fun, too. Sometimes I forego the CE when money is tight, but it never spoils the fun. I am so happy to go on a new cruise, I am just finishing my Park Rangers 10. Cruise 7 came just in the nick of time, to give me a good reason to give in to the BOGO sale.
