I'm a crossword gal since early childhood, but I enjoy sudoku occasionally. It requires lots of thought and patience, at least for me. A sudoku puzzle really taxes my brain and I'm not one to turn away from a good challenge. Placing the numbers within the grid, properly, is not so easy. They cannot be repeated in a square, column or row. But it's fun!
Sudoku lovers will find this game to be a dream come true. Seven Sails has put a lot of creative work into it. It is not just a piddly little game, thrown together to make a buck. This dev always brings us quality entertainment and has been at it for a long time. I've been a fan for ages.
My goodness! 450 levels of logic-based puzzles, 3 levels of difficulty, Hint feature, nice background music. However, there is no Skip feature which I really think should have been included. Frustration can get crazy sometimes with sudoku and it makes more sense to escape rather than use hints all the way to the end of a puzzle.
Even though sudoku isn't a game I would reach for on a regular basis, it is a good one to have on hand when I want to challenge myself with something other than HOPAs and M3s. Knowing it may grow cobwebs on my game shelf, I purchased it anyway. It never hurts to give your brain a good workout from time to time. And this dev is one of the best!
Good thing Tim is on a mission! Otherwise we wouldn't have this cute Match 3 game. It isn't "knock your socks off" cool but it has enough challenge and fun to suit my needs. We don't get enough good M3s these days, this one is a fine little game.
There are hidden object games, plenty of obstacles, a few combats, helpful upgrades, Time Mode. The goal is to help Tim reach the fish. The task is challenging and fun, it tests our strategy skills which, for me, is an added bonus. As Tim travels to confront the witch and her curses we are provided with 90 levels that may turn into a longer game than we think.
It's colorful and has a cute story. It's a little bit different, doesn't become boring, runs glitch-free and gets my vote. The demo was fun, maybe you'll love helping Tim conquer the witch, too. I encourage you to give it a try for a little Match 3 fun to soothe a weary day.
A car crash has left Christina in a coma and Derek feels responsible, wishing he could undo what happened. Meanwhile, Mr. Genie popped out of a lantern which was found in the bushes. After dumb Derek agreed to his terms, he releases Christina from her coma. Suddenly, she is at home and the doctor didn't even have a clue. What lies ahead for Derek now? Nothing good, I imagine.
The characters were all dull and expressionless, with no movement, the doctor's eyes were creepy. Voice-overs were awful, lacked emotion, like bad actors reading the script very slowly. Couldn't stand it! The graphics were unappealing and dark, colors were drab. The artwork not up to par, making objects more obscure.
I had trouble bringing items out of inventory because cursor was slow and jerky. Switching to my own wasn't much better. The tasks to complete and items involved were silly, too many activities to obtain what I needed. There were lots of letters to read, locks, keys, missing handles, etc. It wasn't fun and resulted in my progress through the demo slowing to a snail's pace.
The HOPs were just okay, scenes were dark, objects vague and hard to recognize, some very small. The few puzzles I played were the only entertainment I found. Rare for me, since I am not a puzzle lover. Finding the collectibles was slightly difficult due to poor graphics, side indicators kept count of them as well as the achievements. Custom Mode allowed 15 seconds recharge for Hint and Skip which seemed like a lifetime. I guess you can tell I was not thrilled with this game!
I did complete the demo, but not enough good stuff to make me want to purchase. This might be a very entertaining game. Is there vast improvement in the series, as mentioned by another reviewer? Is it action-packed? Is it worthy of 5 stars? I don't think so, considering the contents of the demo. I hope I am wrong and that this game will not disappoint all the Elephant Games fans who have waited so long for a great one to arrive.
More like a poorly executed copycat game that poorly resembles our beloved Vacation Adventure series. It was a sad attempt. Other than the colorful graphics and plenty of HOs in each scene, there is nothing positive I can say about this game. Overall, it was pretty boring.
The difficulty of the mini games and long skip time made them an unpleasant challenge and I could have done without the lengthy dialogue. I had trouble finishing the demo, called it quits after about 30 min. Too much wrong with this game. It is another stellar example of devs making a buck the lazy way!!
There is no exciting tale, as the synopsis claims. It is just another plain old Match 3 game, with a different theme, from this dev. Yes, once more, they have ignored the makes-sense request of adding a timer. And, as Joybelle 2 mentioned, the flaws overshadow the good stuff.
The game has potential with its features and activities but missed the mark on a few points. The battle play was "skittish", bonuses too available right in the beginning and the game is a slow mover. Also, without a timer, where is the challenge? I'm all for a relaxed game, but there should always be a choice with Match 3s. The boards display unappealing tiles, the "paper doll" pirates exchange voiceless dialogue, and familiar obstacles provide some resistance to our goal.
I liked the building feature, the little I accomplished in the demo. Firing cannons at another ship was fun. The treasure hunt gives up some extra loot for the upgrades. Graphics were okay, there were no glitches. Catherine's treasure hunt should have been a fun adventure, but for me it was not. It turned out to be boring with these pirates on the high seas. However, it is not a bad game overall.
If a slow pace and minimal challenge are your thing in Match 3 games, this one will be quite enjoyable. The activities and the pirate theme will provide you with a fun time. We all have different requirements for entertainment, as for me, I will just sail on by this one.
What a delightful change, looking for cats instead of the same old stuff in every single HOG! Cat lovers will love it. I love it ! It's a sweet game with kitties hiding everywhere, colorful graphics, indoor and outdoor scenes, average challenge.
There are 21 lovely wallpapers, nice music. The mini-games are fun. Although Spot the Difference is always a fave, I especially enjoy the picture puzzles. You can adopt cats with your earned points and select a companion kittie. You may notice the potential of the game becoming boring if you aren't careful so I find that the repeat task of searching for just cats, for me, is best done in multiple sittings. I've been at it for a while now, loving every minute, no idea of actual game length.
I can't imagine a day without the love and companionship of my two sweetie pies! The game is a special treat for this Cat Mom and I think children and adults will have fun with it, a delightful way to spend some quiet time. It doesn't exactly warrant the cost of a CE, in my opinion. But I was willing to purchase just because I love cats and thought it to be a fun change for a HOG.
The Star Goddess will die unless her heart can be refilled with twinkles. A young boy's carless actions have created the depletion of twinkles and given us a journey to other worlds to hopefully prevent a terrible fate. The story is a little sci-fi and lots of fantasy within the constellation of Meridiem.
The worlds are on the brink of destruction unless the essence of the Star Goddess can be replenished. Grace, the almighty one, in The Order of the Guardians, travels to each world in search of the twinkles that will restore the cosmic balance of Meridiem. She sets out with her owl companion to prevent an apocalypse.
It's all rather silly, in my opinion, but interesting thanks to the unique theme of each world. The graphics were beautiful, like an animated watercolor painting. The characters were colorful, movements and voice-overs were pretty good. However, one actor had trouble maintaining her dialect/accent, a minor flaw.
The demo had a couple of puzzles and a HOP. There are 44 stars and 20 butterflies to collect. The butterflies were harder to spot due to poor likeness. A small number of achievements. Hint and Skip recharge can be reduced to 10 seconds. A super big cursor, thankfully, could be changed to the system cursor. Little else to say with so little action and slow pace in the trial time. I wish a glimpse of the Bonus Chapters were included in the demos.
This game will appeal to all ages, it's an easy one plus you can choose your challenge preference from several game modes. The combo theme of the story may be the perfect escape from a dreary day, for you. I'm on the fence!
Art By Numbers transports us to a new world of wonderful paintings! Let your creative side shine as you complete these colorful paint-by-numbers puzzles.
Awigor has done it again! If you loved Art By Numbers 5 take a gander at today's awesome Number 6 and be thrilled all over again! The levels are not locked until the first one is completed, so have fun starting wherever you want. I checked them all out but painted only a few because I wanted to save them for after purchase.
There are 72 images and it will be difficult for me to not paint them all in one sitting as I can easily get carried away. The only image I don't like is our little robot. He's taking up space that should be used for a beautiful image. Except for a couple, the pictures are striking, just bursting with color. The ones of people and faces are especially delightful. There's a fine variety of creations that I think will please everyone.
The color palette is full of beautiful variations on brights, bolds, pastels, metallic shades that turn each image into a gorgeous piece of art. You can choose either Flat or Textured finish, my favorite is the Textured with its built-in shading which makes the images even more stunning. There are 4 slightly textured backgrounds. Background color is adjustable, but only subtle shades of dark to light, no fancy colors. The numbered areas also feature varied shading.
There's a counter to keep you informed of the completed and remaining segments we are painting. The usual ever-helpful Zoom and Hint features are much appreciated. The paint brush cursor works well but I usually prefer my not cute smaller system cursor. I like all the options/features and there are never any tech issues.
The replay value is even better with the fun Free Coloring mode which makes this a great purchase, like getting an extra game for free. I love applying my own whimsy to the images, sometimes beautiful, sometimes weird. That's why it's so much fun. Just get crazy and experiment to your heart's content!
If all other paint by number games were this outstanding, we would be a bunch of Happy Campers wouldn't we?! 5 stars are not enough for this beautiful series. Never disappointing, every release is better than the last. I truly hope Awigor is a mainstay on BFG with their gorgeous and entertaining art games
This big slump that BFG has fallen into (by choice?), will it ever end? We use to have so many fantastic Match 3 games. Now they're as rare as hens teeth, which means non-existent. If someone offered me a million bucks I would not buy this game. The demo displays the disaster that it is and it froze on me big time, with no escape other than re-booting.
The game is not fun, there is minimal challenge, the boredom comes quickly, upgrading the islands is a joke, there is no replay value. I guess if there's anything good to say, children can learn to play Match 3 very easily with it, there are 100 levels and 3 game modes.
For picky old me, I found no entertainment or challenge within this game, the demo was dreadfully boring. On the other hand it may be very enjoyable to others who just want a simplistic Match 3 that requires little thought, to take them away from the stresses of the day. We all have different tastes, I hope you can find some fun with "Story of Love".
This game is really sad. The first level went in a flash as each picture can be finished in less than 2 minutes, so I able to check out all the levels. I always check the demo, hoping for improvements. Sadly, none here!
Every single image is very juvenile, unappealing and way too simple to complete even with all the tiny segments to color. The colors designated for each pic are awful, the ample palette is of no use. There are 64 amazing (NOT) pictures in today's release. For example we have a bowling pin, top hat, padlock, magnifying glass, spyglass, mitten and a very ugly cake. The art is missing in Polygon Art. I think this series should be laid to rest. This dev is capable of much better.
There are top quality games out there, but we too often see the bottom of the barrel. BFG doesn't seem to pay attention to quality anymore. Yes, I could just shut up and ignore the inferior games. But the negative reviews deserve notice. If they are dismissed improvements will never occur, which is bad for both the devs and the gamers. However, as seen here, some devs just carry on as usual and couldn't care less.
We all have different likes, so give the demo a try. Maybe Polygon Art 4 has just what you need to brighten up your day.
