There are 3 Difficulty modes which will make this game more fun for many players as we all have different preferences. I personally don't mind Limited Moves. They provide a good challenge which requires strategy to reach the goal, making the game a little more interesting. What I do mind are the dark boards and small ugly tiles, pirate themed but not at all colorful.
I like building games a lot. Although an amusement park isn't related to the pirate based adventure it was than upgrading the ship in the previous game. There's a decent variety of obstacles and the bonuses aren't spectacular but a bit of fun was still there. The music was a catchy little tune that I soon wanted to turn off. The swashbuckling dialog was too much, all the pirate lingo became annoying. The scenes were bright and colorful with their cartoon style artwork which I thought more appealing to younger players rather than adults.
Not a bad game but there are much better pirate Match3s on BFG. This one doesn't hit the excellent mark but it was enjoyable if not looking for lots of fireworks, bells and whistles. It's nice having the various game modes, not everyone enjoys the stress that comes with limited moves or timers.
Although this game doesn't "float my boat" in Match 3 entertainment, I'm sure others will find it quite enjoyable. Graphium Studio are amongst the better devs on BFG, I own quite a few of their games.
I met the butler and the sisters Lilith and Deborah Spellman. They were borderline creepy with Deborah more on the "normal" side. Lilith offered me a cup of coffee and the butler bonked me on the head after I was poisoned (don't accept drinks from strangers). Didn't see that one coming! Now where did that wicked woman get off to? I miraculously dug up the anecdote in the yard with a silver tray, making it to the Witches Forest which was dead and dark. There the demo ended.
The game moved along rather slowly. My time was spent finding spare keys, repairing wiring and broken locks and cleaning goop off my travel case in my wrecked car. Naturally objects were found in ridiculous places and silly items were used to fix things. There is never a relief from the crazy tasks in these games. And logic just doesn't exist in the minds of the devs. Domini seems to have joined the lazy ones who don't regard the importance of change with new activities and tasks and some logic for the adult mind. And do away with the missing keys and broken locks. Let me just open a door and enter the adventure!
The graphics were nice and sharp, a little dark but good color value even though Domini's purple and blue thing was going on making some of the scenes ugly, IMO. I didn't care for the few characters I encountered, their movements were a little weird and the Crimson Shadow wasn't a convincing diabolical phantom in his big red cape.
I enjoyed the challenge of the HOPs and ease of the puzzles. Easy and Hard Modes were available for the mini-games, I tried both and found little difference between the two. In Custom Play hint and skip charge times can be set to zero seconds. The Extra Objects Indicator was optional, very helpful for keeping track of the collectibles. The map was in the form of photos, I like the active areas being shown, also optional in Custom Mode. As for the Bonus Chapter, I hope it is a sequel or prequel rather than an unrelated story.
There are 18 HOPs and 19 puzzles in the main game. The collectibles are easily found. 15 Ritual Stones, 15 Horror Books, 15 items for a writers desk, 70 dollar bills to purchase desk items, and lots of notes. There are 23 achievements, 8 wallpapers, 5 downloadable pieces of music. I liked neither the wallpapers nor the tunes. Yes, silence is golden when it comes to game music!
The demo was kind of okay. I wish the devs would put more than just mundane tasks in the demo. Without more action or character involvement how are we to know if a game will be worth the price of admission? We just have to take our chances and, for me, buying has sometimes been a big mistake.
The storyline seems interesting with the Order of Witches and their history with the phantom. Hopefully the story won't flatline halfway through and turn into boredom. It happens a lot, a big reason why I seldom buy games anymore. I'm fortunate to own 100s of old ones to enjoy in this time of inferior games. I hope the situation improves SOON and that today's new game from Domini is a winner. We are in dire need of new devs with new HOPAs that aren't just the same old junk where a new title is basically all we get. Give the demo a try, you may find it more enjoyable than I did.
Let's face it ! It's impossible to finish the first set of images in the 60 minute demo. So we just hope the next levels will not be disappointing. Enough of us have complained about this first level thing featured in every single Pixel Art game. Evidently the devs are blind in one eye and can't see out of the other when it comes to our reviews!
Surprising, the first group of images are quite an improvement this time. I managed to finish only a few simple ones and painted some areas in the remaining pics to check out the colors. So decided to take a chance on today's release with an expiring coupon.
The color palette in Pixel Art is usually full of beautiful brights, muted tones and pastels. They create nice detail and shading that add depth and beauty to the more complex images. It would be really nice if the finished piece was larger and would stay on the screen for longer than a nano second, so we could admire our work. I want to savor what my efforts created.
I realize that we are working with pixels and they represent "small" but today's technology works magic on computerized art and I've seen the results. The images CAN be enlarged without blurriness or loss of color quality. It just isn't being done here for whatever reason. I overlook the other couple of nagging issues because I do love Pixel Art.
The features all work well. I especially like the double click to fill in large areas of same color, also being able to sweep over the picture to color your selected number instead of clicking each individual pixel. And the Zoom feature is an absolute must for everyone, no matter how good your vision may be. There have been no tech issues in any of the games.
Larger, more complex images have been added as the series grows and that's a big plus for me because challenge becomes involved. It takes a good amount of time to complete them and I feel it is worth the $$. I own all but a couple of the games and have enough unfinished painting to last til the cows come home. The 80 pictures provide lots of relaxing enjoyment when I'm ready for some quiet time with my cats and some delicious coffee.
I do have another paint by numbers favorite, so with the two I'm a happy fishy, the artist within gets to come out and play. If you've not tried Pixel Art give the demo a whirl. There are no age or skill level barriers and it's a nice change from the HOGs and puzzles.
I recommend this game!

Join the Johnson family as they explore the globe on their hidden object puzzle adventure!
I like this travel game better than the last few. It features a fun variety of mini-games, lots of collectibles and the ever popular morphing object. There is a 3 star goal and the scenes can be replayed to achieve a higher star rating. There's a souvenir shop in which to spend your earnings.
Look for the 3 hearts and 3 icons. The hearts unlock animal pics for an album and the icons reveal a new pic of the hidden object location. I liked this feature with lots of pictures to uncover. Each scene has a Zoom Zone containing 3 of the 15 list items. Of the 3 play modes, I preferred Hard Mode with its timer and mistake penalties. Normal Mode was also timed but not as challenging.
The graphics were very sharp, colors bright, the scenes were full of all sorts of things, the list items were hidden well enough for a good challenge. I, too, was put off by the morphing glitch but it didn't spoil the fun. However, I will wait until it's fixed before I buy the game.
The developer has delivered some good entertainment with this quality HOG. Hopefully more are on the way!
If you love food, outdoor furniture and think a dog dressed up as as a hot dog is "so cute", these puzzles will make you happy as all get out. The plate of sausage and sauerkraut was the worst!
The 5 categories are Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Afternoon Snack and Supper. For me, it is 500 unappealing puzzles that are 499 too many! But it is to be expected from 8 Floor! They never deliver quality games and probably never will. Each game is a disappointment with uninteresting puzzles and the same boring features year after year. This dev is lazy, lazy, lazy! They obviously don't care about the poor reviews, as no changes are ever made. What is it about 8 Floor that is so hard for BFG to resist? Please, just say no and bring us the ambitious devs with their beautiful puzzles and fun features.
This set of puzzles will be sure to please many food enthusiasts, cooks, chefs, restaurateurs. The puzzles are very colorful with all sorts of edibles and table layouts. There are a few people here and there but they add nothing special to the staged settings.
I always try the demos, hoping to see something new and worthwhile. But seems things will forever remain the same. However, check it out. Maybe, unlike me, you will find 500 puzzles of food and more food to be the perfect addition to your jigsaw collection.
Once in a blue moon I write a review on a mahjong game, but this one is definitely worth a shout out. It is grand, just as the original Legendary Mahjong was. I own a few great mahjongs from long ago, but as they became simpler and themes were added they became less entertaining.
With the shortage of adult games on BF, thought I'd give this a try and it did not disappoint. The 60 minute demo was not long enough to enjoy much of the game but it was fun. Don't expect to just breeze through the levels. The challenge grows as you progress and the boards enlarge, your logic and strategy skills will soon be needed. Some players may be put off by this, but the options of re-do and shuffle make the game fun for all.
With over 500 levels this massive game should last "forever", especially considering the time it takes to clear the boards. Keep in mind though, that clearing the two Gold Tiles ends the level. I managed to have no trouble with that, by using re-do and shuffle to help me out. There are 7 temples, each with a different mode which are Traditional, Rivers, Triple, Cube, Numbers, Slides, Match. Cube is new in the Temple of Beauty. Recalling the original Legendary Mahjong, Slides was not fun for me. It was too frustrating with its unique challenge.
Once you unlock all the temples, which must be completed in order, you can skip around and play whichever variation as often as you like. The boards and tiles are nice and big making it easy to distinguish the designs. Some are very similar so be careful to avoid a boo-boo. Errors are easily undone, as I was relieved to find. The layouts change and the boards grow, adding more interest and challenge as you progress. All temples come with clear instructions, with an option to stop the tutorials if so desired. There is a Score Board and a Ranking Gauge. 3 stars to earn for each level and no timer.
Hope you enjoy Legendary Mahjong 2. It was an instant buy after the fun demo. Give it a try if a stranger to this genre.
Our mission is to prove that King Arthur really existed and, if so, find his final resting place. Plus we're on a tight schedule, only 10 days to solve one of history's greatest mysteries. I thought this was an excellent storyline. I loved the CE and the SE doesn't need the extras to make it a worthy purchase.
Domini did a fine job with this adventure, giving us plenty of action and a dose of education with the Fact Disks. If you're a stickler about authenticity you'll appreciate that Domini did their homework with the locales. However, a few things were incorrect, such as cultural grammar and accents.
The graphics though drowning in purple again were still beautiful and creatively designed. I would have preferred more natural colors. truer to the locations of the research. I wish Domini would get rid of their crazy color palette, as they often ruin the beauty of the scenery. The characters were interesting. I thought the voices were fine, not the greatest, the leading female wasn't so good IMO.
The HOPs were very interactive, a good variety including storybook, which is a favorite. There were far more puzzles than HOPs plus Easy and Hard Mode. They didn't seem terribly difficult in Hard Mode so I stuck with that for a little extra challenge. I'm not a puzzle lover and always skip quite a few, the ones I played were fun.
I really enjoyed this game and think it will be fun for all ages. It's better than the other recent Hidden Expeditions. IMO. The King Arthur legend was a great choice for the storyline, as so many of us are familiar with this popular Medieval hero.
I'm always looking for a Match 3 "keeper". Not many these days, thank goodness for my stash of the great oldies. The graphics are simple artwork, boards are easy to see, the tiles are nothing special. However, it is a "Stage Complete" game and that's a sure sign of the same old thing at hand.
I love playing with limited moves because strategy becomes so involved. But this game comes without, nor is there a timer, so it gets boring all too soon. Some of the blocked areas are near impossible to break through. Spending more than a few minutes to move on is tedious and a big deterrent in regards to purchasing.
I enjoy colorful "fireworks" displays but I don't care for the over-done flashing effects that the power-ups create in these games. I did purchase the previous Gaslamp because I liked the story and I like this one, too. The accuracy of the era's clothing or items falters but it's only a game, not a history lesson. Unless the devs come up with some long over-due changes in these Match 3s, I see no point in buying another. Hopefully, future installments will be different, but I would say "don't hold your breath".
With the same issues popping up with each new release, the likelihood of seeing any changes is pretty slim. I am so fed up with the first level having to be completed before moving on. Why is eliminating this feature such a big deal? I would think it would be to your advantage, devs. Happy customers should be one of your priorities.
I did complete 3 images and just had to stop. It was tedious! Each segment has to be filled in one at a time which is a big pain in the rear. The super abundance of pieces in many of the images make this so time consuming. I'm not willing to do it, especially on such juvenile images, and from past experience, I'm quite sure, more of the same awaits in all the levels.
There's a large palette of colors but none of them add any "magic" to the images. They are mediocre and many pale shades are used, not enough of the vivid or bold. All Paint By Numbers 1-10 are like this. Completing an image that looks drab, chopped up with lots of black lines is not my idea of beauty. Paint by number games should be pleasant and relaxing, not a boring ordeal.
I realize that this game will please many and this style of art is popular. The demo gives you the first level, give it a go. You may not mind the things that I dislike and will have a ball with Paint By Numbers 10, therefore I gave 3 stars instead of 2.
The graphics are always big and bright. The Walker family's events include lots of junk to sift through and some bonus puzzles in between. There are 140 Clutter Levels and 20 Bonus Puzzles, enough to tickle your fancy and the replay value is a plus. I don't especially enjoy the clutter in this series but I like the Match and Square Tile Jigsaws. However, the lack of challenge makes the game boring pretty quickly. The little background story doesn't enhance it in any way.
Play in Easy or Time Limited slightly-difficult mode. If you strive for high scores you can replay the levels. The junk piles are very cluttered and boring, not the fun kind like in the original clutter-mania games. I see little variety from level to level and I soon lose interest. I know Jet Dogs can do better and surely can come up with some new ideas to add fun challenge and creativity to this series. If you own one of these games, you've played this one. I have several and try all the demos but, without changes, buying another makes no sense.
The Walkers bring light entertainment to those who want a simple, relaxing game to fill some idle time. This one will do nicely. Great for all ages, the big graphics are easy on the eyes, music is pleasant, never any tech issues. Not a bad game but could use a good dose of creativity and more variety to keep things interesting.
