If you are hopelessly in love with cats this game will tickle your kitty fancy! A great game for all ages. They are all over the place, hiding in all sorts of places that cats love to duck into and they aren't so easy to find. Along with searching for them, keep your eyes peeled for beautiful morphing butterflies.
The scenes are full and beautiful, not hand-drawn cartoonish images. Lovely, colorful locations from around the world. There is so much to love about this hidden object game. I own the previous CE and have no doubts about the quality of today's offering. The developer has left no stone unturned with quality, features and fun for us cat lovers. I like the mini-games and trivia, and the challenge is great, knowing I can play and replay with no pressure from timers, no frustrating mis-click penalties. Graphics are so sharp, bright pretty colors and the kitties are cute as can be.
For me this is a fabulous package of entertainment. I don't mind paying the CE price. In my opinion, even without a sale, it is a good bargain. Check it out! I don't think you'll be disappointed.
This story includes a little of that and some werewolf involvement, but not much of either to make it exciting. Neither one is threatening. I rated the CE with 4 stars because I did enjoy some of the adventure and the HOPs and puzzles were fun. Challenge was average but good variety, I thought.
The story's subject matter wasn't enough to keep the interest flowing, fizzling out for me because I got bored. Still it wasn't such a bad game. My expectations were high I guess as I love werewolf stories and this turned out, in my opinion, to be more of a romance. As usual the graphics were clean and beautiful, nice colors. Not a lot of Domini's favorite color scheme going on which was a good thing. I found nothing displeasing about the characters or voice-overs and I liked the clothing design.
Sadly, however, this game is another example of Domini's lack of creativity and their disinterest in bringing new ideas and better stories to the table. Most HOPA gamers have many years of experience and we're always frustrated with today's games due to flimsy storylines and so little challenge. They are so very easy, full of silly task timer-wasters, and the fantasy theme is never-ending. Nothing solid like it once was and the poor reviews and low star ratings are a clue that Domini needs to rethink their future games to keep the fans they still have. The stories are all basically the same, and just changing the title and characters is pretty lazy.
Anyway, though I wouldn't call this game a "winner", the storyline and its adventure was okay and filled a few hours with some good games and relief from the day's stress. I would've liked a big, bad werewolf and a witch that is really witchy, but it's a good game if looking for an easy-play fantasy, no paranormal. A reluctant werewolf trying to escape from a bad guy, with the help of his romantic interest might be just what you need to perk you up today. It's an age friendly game so anyone can enjoy without the threat of violence or scary imagery,
I don't agree about this being a fantastic, fun-filled game but I did enjoy it much more than the previous one. The sights were more appealing, the story was easy to follow, the magical beings were interesting. I completed the demo, the pace was decent but I could have done without the abundance of tasks.
Things are either missing, broken, incomplete, stashed in silly places or stuck in something, which is the norm, but it is just too much sometimes. Right off the bat my printer cartridge needs ink. Oddly, I keep a bottle in my safe and then use a syringe to extract it and refill the cartridge. Who does that??!! Just another nonsensical thing to mess with that's a time waster. The list goes on and on!
I liked the HOPs, they were more involved and I noted a little more creativity in the styles and also a couple that were new to me. Good variety. However, I couldn't open the film roll in the first HO scene. The arrows were too close to the screen bottom and when clicked I was taken out of the HOs, so I resorted to the Match 3 to finish the scene. Other than that there were no problems in the demo. The puzzles were fun but not very difficult even in Hard Mode. I liked the variety and enjoyed each one, without skipping, only one of them had me stuck for longer than a few minutes.
At the Carnival I met Ymir and took her photo. My lousy camera was without batteries, of course, but I found them in an unlikely place and carried on! All in a day's work for this detective. After I get all my other "chores" done everywhere maybe I can get on with some investigating and catch up to "Mr. Vengeance" and end his plan of destruction.
The mythical beings and animals were kind of cool. Not all cartoonish like we find so often in other games. Characters were nicely designed and the voices were better than usual. I loved the elaborate costumes and masks worn at the Carnival. The graphics were sharp and beautiful, great color. However, I was expecting a grand Carnival event to be drenched in music and activity but everyone was just standing around, no background noise to indicate a fun time.
If not for all the silly tasks that needed tending at every turn, I would have enjoyed the game much more. I liked the storyline a lot because it involved mythical creatures, likeable characters and something to keep the detective busy. These types of stories aren't terribly exciting or all that different many times. But I happened to like this one and the visuals provided plenty to keep my intention throughout the demo, the scenes were colorful and not overly cluttered with stuff.
Still cannot leave a favorable comment regarding the CE extra content. Nothing extra about it, always the same old thing with the number of collectibles. They were pretty small. Except for a couple, they were not difficult to find. Just don't understand why Domini is so reluctant to make a couple of changes that certainly would enhance, not harm, their games. It's all so boring and predictable. Not like in the past. Recently, I played a Domini game from about 5 years ago and the difference was amazing.
Today's game will appeal to all ages and the mythically themed story adds some additional fantasy to the mix. I played part of the demo in Custom for the 10 sec charge times and part in Casual to save a little time in the demo. The game ran with no glitches.
This is more than just a painting game – explore incredible artwork and let your creative side shine as you complete these colorful paint-by-numbers puzzles.
A very fine paint by numbers game to brighten our day. I love Art By Numbers. We get to see all the pics up front without first completing level one. The colors are bright and gorgeous, the fun includes free-coloring which sets our imagination loose.
This is a favorite in my art collection, along with our most recent game which also includes pixel painting. I would love having more than 72 levels though, because the minimal challenge makes it so easy to quickly finish the paintings.
In spite of the quality here, I don't care for the images as much as in Number 10. There are a bunch of cutesy pics, not enough animals, people, scenery and such. And that doggone robot just needs to go away! The variety just seems a bit lacking this time. Also, most of the images are without background to color, so I feel it takes away from the interest and enjoyment I usually experience. The colors are still plentiful and gorgeous but the missing "surroundings" really make a difference to me.
This genre has grown and keeps improving. I'm always on the lookout for new coloring games and I wish BF would explore the many others on the market. Introduce new developers with new and more sophisticated/complex art to us. These games are my go-to for winding down from a tough day, enjoying the quiet relaxation. However, I would prefer a variety of pics more suited for adults, fewer of the simple or juvenile images, definitely some level of challenge.
Art By Numbers is a beautiful game. Family/age friendly, good replay value when considering the free-color feature. It could use a couple of special features to jazz it up a little, but I totally love and recommend this game. I like getting away from all the more involved games, a lovely break to rest my tired mind sometimes.
Again I fail to see anything special, which should not be the case with a Domini game. After playing the entire demo I came away with the usual disappointing feeling and lack of interest in the slowly unfolding events.
I did enjoy the creative HOPs, a good fun variety. Did not see the point of the huge chain and padlock which indicated over-clicking. It was unnecessary. Loved the puzzles, played in Hard Mode but they created no difficulty headaches, did not have to skip any. I tried the M3 but quickly exited because it was too simple and kind of clunky as always. I use to be more into the HOPs in Domini games but lately I'm more drawn to the puzzles, probably because they are more challenging.
There were so many tasks to muddle through. Healing, seeking and gathering ingredients, mixing, repairing. It was not my idea of fun, nor did I like engaging the Bestiary gimmick. It had to be used several times in the demo, thus opening a puzzle each time. They weren't difficult, were easily skipped, but annoying nonetheless. I just don't like gimmicks!
The collectibles were very small and obscure, mostly hidden in dark areas. The pop-out tabs helped keep track of them. always a welcomed feature. The game moved along without any glitches, music was okay. Graphics were sharp but the blue and snowy scenes didn't appeal to me. The characters were well rendered, I always love the costumes from long ago eras, voices were so-so and not unbearable to listen to, as sometimes happens with bad voice actors. The fiery beast was cartoonish. The Griffins were cool, wish I could saddle up for a ride!
I found nothing outstanding about any part of the demo. I no longer regard Domini as one of our finest developers. They slipped a few significant notches, IMO, not using their creative talents as meticulously as they did in the not-so-distant past. They never offer anything new that captures my interest enough or inspires me to make a mad dash to the Buy Button. I use to buy just about everything that had Domini's name attached. I think the CEs are lacking in extra content and we always know to expect the same format with the collectibles in every game. The only time the tasks change is when they include healing, and mixing potions. But I am glad that today's game has nothing to do with the paranormal and demons. I've become tired of it only because it's the basis of just about every story out there.
If only the demo would allow us earlier access into the adventure! Dealing with all the mundane dilly-dally begins to smother my enthusiasm and I'm ready to call it quits sooner than later, but I always make a point of completing the demo. For me it's important to experience more of the story and the involvement of the characters when considering a purchase. Spirit Chronicles is a fairly new series and might offer some great stories up the road. Hopefully the games will also include something new with the CE extra content. Try the demo to sample what's ahead. You may enjoy this game much more than I did, I just prefer fewer tasks and puzzles, and more adventure.
I do not understand how this game received overwhelmingly positive reviews from the beta testers, as claimed in the synopsis! It is just a mess that certainly is not CE material. We have plenty of bad games to increase the junk pile, without adding this one to the heap.
The demo was a glaring example of poor quality. I played til the end and it left me wondering "Why on earth would Elephant Games think this game is a 'wow'?? It is lacking on so many points which were apparent just in the demo. We don't even get a new TGT every day. A few times lately we've gotten an old $2.99 Daily Deal instead. We wait for something new and entertaining and we are just "thrown an old bone". It's bad enough already that the SE version of a CE game is considered a new TGT. Big Fish is really not the "tops" anymore but I remain faithful, hoping it will get back on track.
This series has not been strong since the beginning, but today's game is a total loser, in my opinion. It may appeal to many others who love these characters or like to collect entire series regardless of the stories. But for me, I don't see the attraction with this one. Granted, the demo doesn't contain a great deal of the actual story, but within the 90 minutes I saw enough to know it would not be a good choice for me. I was bored, a bit confused and definitely disappointed. The puzzles and HOPs were easy, there was a problem with one game but don't know if it was me or a game error as I'm not a puzzle expert. The graphics were not so good, scenes were dark. Nothing stood out with the characters in their appearance.
Try the demo. You might find it all very enjoyable, especially if you enjoy this group of detectives which includes Anna Gray.
I own most of Joe's games and have yet to finish any of them, they are so full of clutter and puzzles. I don't feel it necessary to add this one to my stash right now. The demo was lots of fun and contains old and new styles. The games always have something different mixed in to keep things fresh. My willpower was really tested, to just say no this time.
I love the immense variety of puzzles and clutter styles that Joe offers. His talents are amazing! I especially love the Box Quotes and Slider Puzzles. The clutter styles are crazy-busy but the ones that spin are not enjoyable at all to me, but avoiding them doesn't leave me short of entertainment by any means.
Joe's games have so many features, some are a bit confusing at first and sometimes I have trouble keeping track of the puzzles I have already done when I come back to the game after an absence of hours or days. But none of that spoils any of the fun. I'm sure it's my fuddy duddy brain messing with me, lol!
This is most definitely a 5 Star-Plus game/series, in my opinion. The replay value is never-ending and the $$ value can't be beat. If you've never tried Joe's games, check out the demo for a big treat. If these types of puzzles appeal to you, you can't go wrong with today's CE or any of his other puzzle packages!
Animals suffer every day and lose their homes, nature is destroyed at an alarming rate. It is a strong theme for this story. I like that this sad fact is presented in a game that can get the attention of people who may not be aware of or care about the destruction, hopefully realizing it is truth, not fiction.
I enjoyed the story putting a spotlight on the dilemma, but I didn't care for the cartoonish and fantasy elements included, finding them to be a distraction from the serious matter presented here. I know it is just a game but loving animals and nature and being concerned with the losses, I don't know how enjoyable the game will be for me. Friendly Fox always does a great job with their games so maybe it will turn out to be great.
The demo had many of those tasks that I dislike, to uncover needed items. I'm always wishing for more action, fewer tasks. But I did make it into the forest to begin investigating the mystery. I was irritated that the demo shorted me of 17 minutes and I was unable to go back in to complete. The pace of the game was speedy because there was no difficulty finding anything I needed and I was happy to let Gray dig up the buried stuff, no makeshift shovels or tools this time. My demo ended with Great Auntie revealing her identity as one of the mysterious bird creatures.
I thought the graphics could have been better although color was good. Characters were well depicted, good voice-overs and lip sync. I played mostly in Casual Mode but there was too much help. I found the other difficulty levels aren't much different in challenge from one another so I stayed with Casual to hasten the demo. I don't like gadgets so the glasses were a nuisance to me, but Gray was a useful companion. I enjoy animal helpers.
I enjoyed the interactive HOPs which involved a lot of flora and fauna. They were easy to accomplish, none stood out in creative design in the demo, they were the standard list type and a little storybook style. The puzzles were more entertaining, Casual and Hard Mode were available, Hard was of average challenge to me. I felt the number of HOPs and mini-games was just right, many times I pass up a game with a huge amount of puzzles.
There were 2 collectibles in each scene. The animals were easier to find than the morphs, all were in darkened areas, the handy sidebar kept count so none were missed. I always appreciate this feature. No violent action or monsters to contend with which is nice for a change. It may not be a lengthy game, these days a CE is commonly short in spite of extra content. For me, a good story and quality mini-games matter more than the fluff. I rarely buy them anymore because the value just isn't there. In my opinion, quality CEs are now hard to come by.
The demo was okay, providing easy gameplay and lots of narrative about the events and causes that are at hand in Redwood National Park. Hopefully our expert investigative work will pay off and the mystery will be solved. Let's hope for a positive ending. Try it out, it's a good storyline, suitable for all ages and skill levels. The game ran with no tech issues.
I enjoyed Ancient Jewels: Babylon so thought I'd give The Temple of Athena a try. I really liked it and jewel games always attract my attention, I love the tinkling sounds and the bright colors. The music in today's game is pleasant with pieces from 4 different tunes that don't distract your concentration. Graphics are crystal clear and beautiful with basic art style.
The very colorful gems brighten up the boards and are of good size. Some Match 3 games have small, dull colored tiles that don't give me that nice visual I always seek. Considering 120 levels and the challenges that arise, it should be a nice long game. The demo was a good example of what you'll find along the way. There are simple instructions, a tutorial that explains the function of the power-ups as they are earned and a score board after each level that shows your achievements. The tutorial can be turned off but I found it quite useful in the beginning.
There are Relaxed. Timed and Limited Moves modes. I used Relaxed for most of the demo but always prefer Moves. You cannot change the modes while playing and must return to the Main Menu when you want to switch, but I think that's the case in all Match 3 games anyway. As the game progresses and the challenges increase I found that Limited Moves became more difficult than expected. That was good though, as I had to rely more on my strategy skills to win the level. Love strategy! The game definitely isn't as easy as it first appears, requiring some replays and frustration.
Each level has different tasks, the goal is to find a required number of blocks or other items under the tiles. There are lots of obstacles to remove and lots of fun power-ups to get the job done. As the game progresses the number of items to remove increases and, of course, more time is involved. Therefore, the Relaxed Mode, for me, was more doable than the Limited Moves as I got deeper into the game. The demo ended at level 10. I really had fun and got to do some restoring, too.
The purchases for restoring the temple and grounds are pricey, but earning the required $$ wasn't a slow process as in other rebuilding games I have played. I love picking what I want to purchase and watching the project come together. As usual, I'm always wishing for more of it in the game. Not just one building and not restoring only the immediate area.
Had a good time with this game and will add it to my Match 3 collection. We don't get many quality ones these days. I am currently playing my Jewel Match 3s to death which contain all the things that satisfy my entertainment needs in this genre. As much as I love JM, it is always nice to find something else to mix it up a little. Sometimes even the best isn't good enough and variety is the missing ingredient that keeps the fun and interest flowing.
This put me in a good mood this morning! I can never turn down a Jewel Match solitaire game. Atlantis 3 is the same format as Number 2 except now there is a Match 2 added to the fun. I really love this series as it is always consistent in quality, beauty, length and variety. I think the CE price is well justified.
The card styles are the same as in Atlantis 2. Music, likewise. The myriad of colorful fish are still swimming aimlessly, adding to the beauty of the underwater scenes. The graphics seem a little darker this time but still gorgeous. Rebuilding the waterscapes and collecting new fish are the highlights of the game for me and high/low is my favorite type of solitaire.
With 200 extra levels it is a long game but with 120 extra Supersize, Challenge and Mahjong levels the entertainment seems never-ending. I love the bonus solitaires because it's an opportunity to learn new styles. High/low has always been my preferred game, so something different helps break up the monotony sometimes. I have a couple of issues with the Challenge Levels though.
I hate Mahjong which is part of the Challenge Level and must be played and won in order to obtain a new fish. Needless to say, I reluctantly endure! Also, as the Challenge Levels increase in games and difficulty, completion becomes quite frustrating. Winning the level is the only way to earn the bonus fish. The number of replays goes way too far and it has nothing to do with your solitaire skills. I kid you not, deep into the game a Challenge Level contained 5 game styles and I paid dearly for that doggone new fish by replaying one of the solitaires 39 times. My expert skills mattered not, as we are not really in control of outcome in computer games. This really annoys me but my stubborness reaped the reward! Perfectionism is not a good thing in some cases, lol.
The bonuses and power-ups are always adequate. The shop has plenty to enhance your game and the prices aren't too bad unless you want to increase something you already bought. I usually go right for the extra deck cards and the undo. After that I don't really need much but the random and selected card removal are very useful as the game progresses.
The Jewel Match games are always so entertaining. I've been a fan from way back and continue to play the old ones regularly. Match 3 or Solitaire, the fun and quality are ever-present and I've never experienced any tech issues. I am so happy when a new one comes along for my collection. I also like that the games aren't offered weekly or monthly. For me, the anticipation is always high, waiting for the next one to pop up. That's part of the overall enjoyment!
If you've not yet plunged into the undersea world of Atlantis Solitaire, I think you'll love what you find in the demo. The variety of play modes allow you to choose your challenge and you can switch as you play to test your skills.
