This game is the perfect challenge with a fair mix of easy and difficult levels. The graphics are beautiful and the images are usually easy to identify and are labeled. I liked Juliette's story in the second release and I'm hoping this new one is just as delightful. You can choose to follow the story as you play or disable the cut-scenes, even re-engage it from the options scene. The 12 tile options are not colorful like i9n other mosaic games but the results they create make it forgivable.
There are 3 types of mini games - HO, Jigsaw and Spot the Difference. The characters are beautifully rendered. The sanctuaries are lush and gorgeous. I love how the crystals are hidden, popping up briefly, not so easy to spot. The collected crystals are displayed as they are in the Jewel Match games and each portion of the rebuilds require a specific number of them. The scenes are a bit darker than in previous games but beautiful nonetheless. The music is nice and the game is relaxing and very enjoyable because the visuals are so lovely and that keeps me interested.
This game is right up there with Moontrain. I loved the CE. The game was very gratifying for me because it allowed me to think, think, think and feel proud that I completed it on my own! The gameplay was different than most other games. Took a little while to figure things out. Once I caught on it was fun all the way. It probably won't appeal to many, but at least try the demo. You might discover something awesome!
No fancy options or features but the graphics are really pretty, sharp and colorful. The list items vary in number. Some items are hard to find because they are quite small or unrecognizable, such as the lamp parts and compass in the second location.
The scenes each have silhouetted pets to look for and they are full of all sorts of things. The zoom zones are indicated by stars. The challenge is minimal in some locations, in others it is very good. The pets are easy to spot and may also be found in zoom zones. Visit the pet shop with the coins you earn. There's a variety of list styles, some mini games. I didn't care for the wallpapers.
The CE extras weren't much so I don't feel the game is a good CE purchase. The demo was fun though and I liked all the different pets. I have so many animal HO games already, however, so I will likely pass on this one.
but no matter what time of year, it is still a special treat. Jewel Match games are never a let-down. They are gorgeous and full of features and options that can't be beat. Worth every cent of the CE price. I always am thrilled to see a new one.
We have a village to build, 60 bonus levels, fun variety of games and puzzles. I love the jigsaws. Beautiful graphics, moving expansive boards, tiles that shimmer and sparkle. great bonuses and power-ups. They are all superb in my opinion. I always play Limited Moves, Advanced Difficulty. I love everything about this game! I know someone else will describe it much better than I can! A wonderful belated gift.
Is anyone else as stunned as me at the "Best of 2022" Awards?! Who chooses the winners? I can't speak on the TM games since I don't play them but in my opinion the other picks include only a few that are truly worthy of praise. Unbelievable!!
from the game and the graphics. It's boring and the gameplay offers nothing extraordinary. The obstacles seem never-ending and power-ups don't really add much to the game other than big explosions. The upgrades are colorful but not interesting. Again a pass for me but I'm sure it will please the fans of this series. The series needs some overdue changes to keep it fresh and fun.
I was stunned with disbelief at the "Best of 2022" Awards!! Is it just me? Who chooses the winners? I can't speak on the TM games since I don't play them but, imo, the other picks include only a few that are truly worthy of praise. Shocking! Maybe this game will be a winner in next year's favorites.
Graphium always does a splendid job with their puzzle games. Anice variety of subject matter, beautiful images and features that make assembly a pleasure. I especially love the Vintage category. I appreciate being able to pick my background color. That option is important for me because coordinating the color with the puzzle makes it visually more appealing while I assemble it. I have so many great puzzles to play with now. I wish I could adorn my walls with some of the gorgeous ones from this collection!
Endless tasks and boring gameplay is just about all you'll find in this game. Randall and Eleanor won't be working to solve anything even remotely resembling a high profile crime. There's less action here than in an old Dick Tracy movie! Zero adventure. I was so tired of the tasks I lost my interest in wanting to continue on, so the HOPs and puzzles didn't matter to me.
I wish the synopsis would be more honest in the game descriptions. I've learned not to pay them much attention as they are always misleading. Yep, a scientist went missing. Nope it didn't lead to anything exciting as far as mystery is concerned. Good luck finding any busy crime scenes or anything else to make this an interesting adventure. Domini sure knows how to crank out the duds these days!
This holiday game was pretty good but missed 5 stars for several reasons. I found little Christmas joy in it and anger from characters who shouldn't be so. There's an uptight elf and his traitor friend who are bent on removing Christmas. The rats are on the warpath with their issues. One of them even uses a swear word. Even though it wasn't a big, vulgar word, it was out of place and not necessary in a game like this. With all the anger in our real world these days I can do without it in a game that should be warm and cheery!
The variety of HOP styles was good, liked the creative design and interactivity, love the "find and return" HOP scenes. Enjoyed the puzzles, all doable in the demo. The tasks were many but not as aggravating as usual so overall I made it through the demo with less frustration this time. Graphics could've been better. Scenes/locations not very Christmasy nor interesting. The option to skip everything will work well for those who play hurriedly or just want to remove the HOPs/puzzles they don't like. This option will certainly create a much shorter game.I expected something special with the CE extras for Christmas but it's the same old format and boring as ever. Didn't purchase, likely never will unless I find it as a Daily Deal or The Catch.
Another unremarkable HOG from Domini. A good thing dialogue is skippable, there's a ton of it. There's an interesting story attached, nothing to back it up. So that makes it a no buy for me although I completed the demo to see what was ahead.
I found nothing special, disliked it a lot. Graphics not so good, large cartoonish artwork. A couple of items clearly mislabeled in first scene. Some items in all scenes do not look like what you expect. HOPs are very dark, too dark imo. Had to use hints often because of this and interactive items were hard to figure out being unable to figure out where to use them.
Interesting variety of HOP styles. Puzzles were okay. Monotonous music, had to remove it. Challenge definitely there but caused only by the dark scenes hiding just about everything. For me it was more tedious than fun. Using hints is never how I like to play.
If you like HOGs this is a doozy for you. It has no need for a detective agency or other elements mentioned in the storyline if there is no adventure. An example of why I no longer support Domini. There's just nothing there anymore that is worthy of spending my $$ or points on.
I felt this was not a good Christmas story. It had a coldness to it due to the lack of beauty and heartwarming scenes typically found in holiday games. It did not create even one warm fuzzy feeling.
It was missing all the sights and sounds that make a colorful, cheery atmosphere, taking place mostly on darkened streets in a cab. The premise was for a dispirited boy to help spread hope and cheer at this magical time of year. Kind of hard, for me, from the back seat of a cab. The Santa driver was out of costume and out of place behind the wheel instead of the reindeers. Totally unlike the beautiful, inspiring "Nutcracker" from this developer. I guess all great things are destined to end in the gaming world.
Even the HOPs and puzzles were disappointing and of course there were lots of tasks to add more boredom to the game. I was reluctant to add this game to my Christmas list but eventually gave in because it wanted to get started with the seasonal games. I gave the game 3 stars for the Bonus Chapter with the cats. It was delightful, more Christmasy. I enjoyed it a lot more than the main story. So, there is hope after all!
