I thought the first 60 minutes were the best, as happens with quite a lot of games.
After that, the graphics took a slight down turn. The colours became garish and some scenes became a bit disappointing. It's as if the same amount of time and effort hadn't been spent on them as earlier scenes.
The HOS scenes were consistent throughout the game however and I found them enjoyable, interesting and relaxing.
For some reason, the characters and storyline got on my nerves but good game play, atmosphere and pace.

I enjoyed this as much as the others in the series. This one is a little longer than the other three, consisting of 25 levels, instead of the normal 24, in four chapters. You will visit Florence, Rome, Naples and Sicily.
I recommend this game!

A lot of times when I started a level, there were no matches to be made, no possible moves.This is before I'd even tried to make a match. There may be one power up to collect and then it would have to shuffle the board. I did a lot of shuffling in this game. It amounted to about four or five times on some levels.
I also don't enjoy the group levels in this game series, when you click on groups of icons to clear them, rather than swap to match. Thankfully, there weren't too many of them.
I enjoyed the interesting facts about Japan, in regard to the Suitcase Collection and the plants/flowers were quite nice too.
There are four chapters each consisting of 24 levels.
Tokyo, Fugi, Kyoto and Chugoku are the places you will visit.

This seemed to be for intermediate to advanced players.
I got to Level 60 before I found it challenging. A kind family member got me to Level 160 before I said enough is enough. It's not a spectator sport. When I was playing it, I was always being hampered by creeping vines that kept growing, really fast and choked up the pieces on the board. The power ups were like gold, couldn't be too free and easy with them and limited moves on top of it all.
One thing I really liked was the atmosphere, background scenes and icons.

Nice graphics, good game play, good scenes and environmental sound effects. Puzzles in HOS. Lots of cut scenes. Most memorable thing about the game is Vince, the weasel.
I recommend this game!

You search for fragments in HOS and then once you have the whole object, you use it on areas in each scene to either start a puzzle or yield another fragment. Game play is good and very straight forward.
There is a hint button and a skip button for puzzles. Although, once you have a whole object, you can't get a hint to show you where it goes in the scene, You have to figure it out yourself, so in that way, it doesn't hold your hand. I've played it twice now to the end with no problems, although sometimes you have to pay attention to what you have in your inventory, as it tends to be all grey and brown shades there and sometimes you think you are stuck but all the time that important little object is right there in your inventory.

You visit 12 regions and buy and sell antiques, rare items and memorabilia. It's half hidden object scenes and half auctioneer game. I'm not sure I like the mix and would have preferred just the relaxing HOS section of it, even though the auctioning is a nice twist and it is a good novelty game that brings interest to the HOG genre. I bought it mostly because I liked the HOS and didn't figure on all the buying, selling, trading and haggling I'd have to do. I think the auctioneer guy is great though and does add interest and excitement to a run of the mill HOG. You might like it if you're interested in antiques.
I recommend this game!

I like this series. It's stress free and relaxing but fun at the same time. I don't get bored with it at all. Suitable for beginners and intermediate players.
There are 24 levels in each chapter and there are four chapters in which you'll travel to Provence, Normandy, Champagne and Paris.

This, in my opinion, reminds me of Dr. Lynch: Grave Secrets and a little like Unlikely Suspects and Mystery Stories: Berlin Nights and Letter From Nowhere series. All of which I have purchased and enjoyed. They are all old school games which are basically back to back HOS, with lots of detail in the HOS, similar graphics, imaginative relaxing scenes and good atmosphere in regard to environmental sound effects.
There are twelve chapters in this game, usually consisting of three scenes or so each.
There was one little thing. Puzzles/mini games are usually easy to skip but I skipped a puzzle in the library. It was a book puzzle and you had to arrange the books in order to make a picture. I think that was around Chapter Six. The game froze so I began it again. Second time round, I solved the puzzle manually, instead of skipping it and this seemed to solve the problem and I was able to progress in the game.
Not sure if it makes any difference but I found it is best to find all the objects in the scene before doing the puzzle. No evidence for this, but it was one of the tactics I used when playing it again. Some of the old games need to be played in a certain linear order and if you don't, it scrambles their brain. Not ideal but that's how some of them worked at the time. We've progressed since then, so they say.

It has those slightly painted graphics that I don't normally like but they completely got away with it here. It has really good game play and very nice and relaxing HOS. Good atmosphere and pace and there are collectible items to be found.
I recommend this game!
