I like games with atmosphere as well as good game play and lots and lots of HOS, and this has it. Good environmental sound effects, music and nice graphics.
I'm just starting to get into match 3 games. As soon as I saw this, I thought of Rat and Louie -Cook From The Heart, which is another match 3 game, in the same style, graphics and gameplay as this one. I discovered that there are many more games in this series entitled 'The Chronicles of...' in the same style. I loved all of the cinematic clips telling the story of Moses. It is so relaxing and comforting and I enjoyed the voiceover which said, 'The Spirit Of The Lord Is Upon You' every time you release a holy white dove in the game. Even though they are annoying, I love the shocked/surprised look on the spiders face when you make them fall off the board.
I recommend this game!

Lake House: Children of Silence
Dark things bubble to the surface when the past invades the present!
I loved this because it ticked every box. Well paced, good atmosphere, graphics, game play and environmental sound effects. It was a little quirky too which I liked and it wasn't too old school or too new, it's sort of in between. There was an era in HOG's where they got everything spot on and then they just sort of ran with it too much and spoilt the simplicity. This was relaxing and fun and intriguing at the same time. I'll play it again (in about six months) and enjoy it all over again.

Not the type of game I normally like but this was addictive. I like the graphics and the game play. Love the multiple boards and the feeling that you are going into different rooms. You collect keys, grappling hooks, wrenches, lanterns, maps and magic spells in each board to open up other boards. The battles are biased, completely unfair and I see that a lot of reviewers don't like them either. I discovered that you don't have to play the battles. You can just come out of that room and finish the level if you've done everything else you need to do. I played it in relaxed mode from about level 35 and it was so much better. I managed to get all upgrades bar one, before it crashed on Level 75. I'd have probably kept going if it hadn't crashed. Thank goodness for small mercies.
It had a lot of potential, with good game play, atmosphere, graphics, storyline and sound effects with a medieval genre, but I could not believe how short it was. I thought it was just beginning and then it was the end. You do not get value for money with this. It was over before it started.
I don't recommend this game.

Journey: The Heart of Gaia
After being kidnapped, Liz must free the Underworld from the tyranny of Scartaris Umbra.
This was in the HOG section of Big Fish but there are no HOS in it. No hidden object scenes. It is more of an adventure game really. It has very puzzley game play and lots of mini games with a very slow charging skip button. It's atmospheric, with good environmental sound effects and along the way, you will meet three very different and interesting characters, with different skills, and they will accompany you on your journey and help you on your quest. I don't normally like painted graphics but they are beautiful in this game. I would say it falls into the steampunk genre.
Not as much fun as other Delicious games I've played. All that rubbing, clicking and holding gets tiresome after a while, as do some of the challenges. Still enjoyed it though.
I recommend this game!

Jodie Drake and the World in Peril
Help Jodi discover hidden treasures in long forgotten ruins, while fighting the evil professor Bergen and his cronies!
The graphics, gameplay and environmental sound effects created a great atmosphere. Among the mini games, there are mazes to explore, and althought they don't do skips, they have hints and aren't too bad to complete. I wasn't keen on the HOS, where you find silouhettes of objects, of which there were many. I prefer straight forward word ones and there weren't many of those. It didn't spoil my enjoyment of the game but I thought it was a little short too and that was disappointing.
Nice graphics and nice music, very relaxing. I think I'd prefer a more linear style of play. I thought the fun facts scraped the bottom of the barrel. I got a bit frustrated when I'd got all the special items, plus all facts, and still didn't get a green tick. You just have to keep playing a level, sometimes you'll play it once, or twice, or four or five times before it gives you that green tick. It'll give you that green tick when it's good and ready to and not before! I found it's best to keep shuffling between scenes and eventually it'll happen.
I recommend this game!

Great Adventures: Lost in Mountains
A famous scientist has gone missing! It’s up to his daughter to find him and keep his powerful formula out of the hands of evil!
It reminds me of the old spectrum and amstrad games like Movie, where you adventure through lots of rooms and have to find a way to open locked doors. There's a basic Sim aspect to the two characters. You have to make sure they're fed, rested and cheered up! I like that each character has different skills and so you have to use them according to their abilities. You collect bones to make up hints. Not enough bones or hints. I'd have preferred it with unlimited hints. It got too cluttered, too soon, with too many rooms and too many different things to do, none of it linear. I'd love to see a more linear version without the need to feed the characters. It was far too short. I was very surprised that it ended when it did.
