So much action and excitement in this game at times, that it makes your heart beat so fast, you feel you might have a heart attack. It's very funny, lots of humour. I played in Normal Mode until Level 60 something, and was experiencing difficulty with my one life and all the super fast balls, but I was able to change over to Easy Mode, without losing my place in the game. I also got 8 lives off the bat, so to speak. Then at Level 74, the game ends. You are congratulated and then they say you have won 5 more bonus levels. So you play them and finally, the game is over at Level 79. At any time, if you lose all your lives, start a new game, but don't change player, and you'll get eight lives but won't lose your level place. Great game.
This is one of the hidden gems that I always try to find on Big Fish Games. It's a slightly quirky old school combo, of a time management game and a hidden object game. The time management part is enjoyable but the part I liked best was the hidden object scenes. Now, it's an acting/movie genre, so you're dealing with actors reading scripts, photo shoots, make-up, that kind of thing. There are 28 hidden object scenes. There are four scenes in each themed t.v or movie genre and they alternate with the time management level. The genre's are: Western Stories, High Seas, Oh! My Family (sitcom) Fairy Glade, Star Stories (sci fi), Sport Tales and Jungles Ghost. I like the upgrades and trophies and I really enjoyed getting a trophy for completing the HOS within a certain time limit. There's also a bit of action in the scenes, which was fun.
If you like relaxing games and you want to chill, this is probably not for you but if you like a bit of excitement, the kind that makes your heart beat faster, then you might like this. Not that keen on the graphics, but I liked the music and the atmosphere was good. The first chapter is basically a forest environment and there's ice and fire themes too. There is also sometimes a boss to kill at the end of chapters but not all the time. It's a bit inconsistent in that way. I like that you can break down boulders after time. A lot of brick busting games have obstacles that are indestructable. Nothing seems indestructible here but your ball may take a little time to break down that boulder. I did complete it but I had to repeat some chapters. If you fail a level, you have to go back to the start of that section and play it all again, so a bit frustrating in that sense. You get three lives at the start of each section but have the opportunity to get more in the levels, if you're lucky! Overall, a decent and rather exciting game.
Lovely little game. Very relaxing, but it can also be a little bit boring. I played it twice. The first time, I couldn't buy all the items in the gift shop. The second time I played it, I knuckled down, didn't use one hint for the entire game, or skip one of the puzzles, and yet I still didn't manage to buy all the items in the gift shop. It's a blend between 'Big City Adventure' and the 'Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger' games. I liked the word search games in the puzzle section, but there just wasn't enough of them.
The demo was good...so good that I bought it. The rest of the game was not so good. Terrible gameplay, not user friendly at all. The good news is, the HOS were good, the bad news, not very many existed. The hint button lied. It does not give hints. I have a problem with directions in games (as in real life) and I got lost many times. I found the map useless, confusing. All the effort is put into the demo and the rest of the game is thrown together. Okay, perhaps that's a bit unfair, as the lovely graphics, humour, atmosphere and sound effects remain exceptional to the end. To get a second opinion, I enlisted the help of an expert gamer friend who got me to the end, but said that they found it to be very poor game play.
Good value for money, addictive and lots of fun. It also has the bonus of being relaxing. You gather resources and complete quests. The game and story ended when I was on Level 29 and there were no more quests after that. One thing I would say, don't pre-empt the quests and prepare food or fully upgrade camp equipment in advance, as there will be quests for that later on. For instance, I had almost upgraded everything and some of the quests on each level is to upgrade something. I was lucky that I had a couple of things not fully upgraded, otherwise, I couldn't have done that quest. The same goes for food. Don't waste time cooking food in advance because you'll just have to cook it again when the quest comes up,
Take on the role of Emyr, probably the realm’s most famous hero. That is, until his career was destroyed by a dreadful wound. Now, Emyr works in the tavern.
Lovely graphics and good characters in this time management game. The storyline is interesting too, in a dungeons and dragons genre, with barbarians, elves, orcs, hobbits, gnomes, pixies, wizards etc. There is some strong language and adult themes throughout. There are no upgrades or shop here. (The only thing I didn't like was having to go back and forth between 'restaurants', and, just to further nitpick an excellent game, I had one cinematic or cut scene to watch before I got all trophies and I couldn't find it). I also liked the celtic dance music!
I got up to Level 28 on this game and had to quit. I'd played the level so many times but couldn't progress. I had so much money, had upgraded everything, tried many different methods to beat the level, was super fast, made sure all the customers were ecstacally happy but nothing worked. I'd bought it because the demo had been promising and was sometimes challenging, but nothing I couldn't handle. The biggest flaw in a game is when the gamer is unable to reach the end of the game. This started off fun but ended up very frustrating. It's sequel however is much, much better. In the sequel there is hope!
This week I have had five time management games on the go and I think this has to be my favourite. It's so addictive but can get very challenging. I like the game play, which is mostly based on colour matching. You earn coins and play arcade games to make more money for upgrades. So there's an arcade section and also the actual game, so it's like you've got two games in one. The graphics are nice and the characters are funny. There are romance, western, horror, action and sci fi themed cinemas. The sound effects are fun too and very atmospheric.
I liked this more than the first in the series (Go Go Gourmet) even though I liked that one too. It has the exact same game style but the objects are bigger and clearer and the graphics are much better too. The storyline and characters are also very good and entertaining. It's also challenging, but fun, rather than frustrating. Ginger gets to dress up a bit more too and there are prizes everytime you get first place in each level. I really enjoyed the Cook Off at the end, which is between Ginger and the last other cook to survive the competition.
